Great place to go have cocktails and brick oven pizza. The food is good, Alex the waiter(the male Alex) is super attentive and hospitable. Go in, take over the jukebox and play some pool. Call drinks are a steal!

I’ve tried pizza in just about every city I’ve visited in my travels. Unlike most reviewers, I am not particular to one style of pizza. I love a good deep dish, new york style, stuffed, cracker crust, etc. I’ve lived in Texas for about 6 years now and I was about to give up on finding good pizza in the whole state. I’d go into detail, but I’ll save that for the reviews of the joints themselves. My wife and I just happened to pass by Last Drop Tavern and saw a sign that said«Wood Fired Pizza.» Excited about this new find, my wife and I made it a point to stop by as soon as possible. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted and quickly seated. After perusing the menu, we ordered our pizzas and mozzarella wraps. I love the fact that each pizza is a 10″ size, and my wife and I can order what we want on our pizzas. The mozzarella wraps came out a few minutes later. They were a pleasant surprise! Certainly a different take on a mozzarella stick, and will be ordered each time we visit. Next came the pizza. After years of looking for a great pizza in Texas, I can say that I finally found it! The ingredients were fresh and the wood fire oven gave it a unique, woodsy flavor. Yes, it was a little burned on the bottom and edge of the crust. That’s normal! My only complaint was the music. While I understand that its a bar, it appears there was a pay-to-play jukebox. When no one paid for a song, it played a random song, but only a quarter to half the song then ended abruptly. This got annoying fast, and really should be turned down if that’s the only way it works, or at least until after 9pm when most people head to bars for drinks. Overall, a great experience and I cannot wait to head back there again!

They have definitely worked to fix all the issues mentioned here previously. My experience was great. We were greeted at the door by the owner/manager of the bar but seating is open. They have a huge selection of local beers and the alcohol is priced comparative to other Denton bars. Music was good and service was exceptional. The pizza was awesome. All the ingredients are fresh and you can watch the pizza being made. It’s about $ 10 a pizza which is a lot of quality food. They also have a $ 5 lunch special for a pizza, salad, and drink. It is a great casual bar to get a drink, get some great food and enjoy whomever you are with. I will be back.

This was a random stop before we hit the road. I am so glad we walked in! We didnt even realize we were walking into something amazing. For a smaller, crowded and busy place in a shopping center I thought we might be lucky to just get something mediocre. Wrong wrong wrong. First, so friendly and even though they were busy they took the time to be nice and even make great suggestions. Then we had delish food in front of us piping hot and fresh. We sat up at bar area(highly recommended) close to the action. We tried one of the famous pizzas. The sauce was homemade and so fresh. Cant beat it. Thanks guys for the great experience! We will be back

It’s a dark bar in a run down shopping strip. I know it was formerly other bars. After navigating the awkward entrance situation outside we stood in the entrance. We didn’t know if we were supposed to just have a seat or wait to be seated since there was a hostess stand. The place was pretty empty with only one other table with people and a couple people at the bar. The waitress/hostess/drone forced to work there answered our questions about the pizza and took our order. She wasn’t rude, but she was not friendly either. She seemed to be there simply for a paycheck, but she clearly was not working for tips(based on her level of service). The pizza was actually really good. They offer toppings that other restaurants do not offer and the cheese was fresh. This was gourmet pizza in a run down, shady looking bar. We wanted to order an additional item, but the waitress disappeared and never returned. We gave up. I guess we know that if we go back for the food we need to order everything we could possibly want the first time we see the waitstaff because they won’t be back. The sounds system will drive you crazy. They were playing two different songs within the same room over speakers with static. They kept changing the music mid-song. The volume was continually adjusted up & down. We will probably go back because the pizza was REALLY good. We know not to bring friends there though because the service and atmosphere need improvement. Atmosphere & Service = 2 stars Pizza = 5 stars

I am not a pizza lover, but I kept hearing great things about this place. So I had to take a trip out to try for myself. I am always a sucker for a caprese salad. I am still not sure what dressing they used on this but I am still craving it. Next we ordered the Settebello. It had some of the freshest mozzarella, and the sauce was out of this world. Normally I am not a huge sauce fan and I prefer to have the ingredients shine, but I had to ask for a side of it because I just could not get enough. Everything had such a fresh taste. I would defiantly recommend making a trip out to this place.

Pizza has too much sauce for thin crust. Not crispy At ALL. Cheese sticks = burnt. Yuck! Won’t go back.

We were there for 20 min after asking if it was ok to sit outside. We then went into the bar to order, thinking maybe they don’t have service outside and no one would take our order. It was not busy. A bar patron laughed and said we would be there an hour before anyone talked to us. Never again.

It was a little awkward in the beginning– we came for the happy hour special and the place was so dark and empty we weren’t sure if they were open at first. Also, I found it odd that the bar had only five bar stools. It reminded me more of a club rather than a bar. The bartender was nice enough I guess, but seemed lazy. He didn’t even mention the happy hour specials, I had to ask him. For happy hour they offer a domestic pint and a pizza for $ 6. I chose coors light and a pizza topped with sun dried tomatoes. WOW! They nailed the pizza! Incredibly authentic and tasty! If you like and understand the Neapolitan style, you’ll love the pizza here. And for $ 6 you can’t really beat that deal! I was a little irritated at the lack of service, they just didn’t pay attention to detail. We weren’t even offered silverware with our pizzas which was surprising since Neapolitan is really a «knife and fork» type style. This place has potential, but they need to make the ambience a bit more warm and inviting. I’ll probably be back for the happy hour special at some point, but it’s not first on my list.

Long story short: this is what pizza should taste like. A simple Margherita is the real test, and Last Drop passes with flying colors. This stacks up next to any pizza I’ve had in Italy, with the exception of a tiny Napolitano joint in Perugia. Great beer selection, too. I have a feeling when I come back after dark I’ll add that fifth star.

This is a nice little hidden gem in Denton, TX. They have nice and high quality Italian pizzas that will leave you wanting more due to the extremely nice Woodbrick oven which reaches temperatures over 800 degrees! It’s quite amazing. They also use this oven to make their mozzarella sticks which are made in the bar by rolling mozzarella cheese in an egg roll. They are delicious! $ 2 domestics and a great variety of specialty beers. As well as knowledgeable bartenders that can make you anything you want. Definitely check it out!

I’ve been here a few times now, and tried 3 different pizzas. The first time I went in, I had just eaten, and was going for beers, which they have a good selection of and decent prices. I had a slice of my friend’s pizza, which I liked enough to come back and eat a whole pizza at a later time. When I tried the pizza again, I was very impressed. I had the meat trio pizza with italian sausages and peppers and mushrooms. The crust is crispy and delicious, and there is just the right amount of sauce and toppings. Some places load you up with cheese and the pizza just falls apart. Not the case at Last Drop. The service is pretty quick for made-to-order pizzas cooked in a wood fire oven, which surprised me. The staff was attentive and friendly, the beer was cheap and cold, and the pizza was fresh and delicious. I will definitely be back. ALSO: I see that some people have complained about the pizza being«burned». My pizza had some charring on the crust, but its supposed to be like that. They even have fliers on the tables explaining this. When you cook something next to a fire, its gonna get«well-done».

Last Drop has potential but is so often over looked because dentonites consider this establishment to be a restaurant and not a bar, which is not entirely the case. As Bryan B mentioned, Last Drop has over 60 different beers with a wide range from pilsners to pale ales, and stays open til 2 am, I believe the kitchen closes at midnight. They’ve got a variety of creatively built pizzas that are sure to please. The staff is your typical group of Denton kids that are social and knowledgeable. If you’re in the area stop by and have a cold one, you won’t regret it.

Worst pizza in Denton. Worst pizza i have ever had. There i said it! Take a look at my other reviews before you look over this one because it sounds like i’m bashing the place. With this being a new bar/restaurant slightly off the square i was excited to hear about beers on tap and wood fire oven! Walking in i was highly impressed with how the place looked. Clearly a lot of money went into this place. Five stars on that! So you pick your own table and then to order just go up to the bar to order. Menu looks and sounds like you are getting upscale pizza, but i found this not the case. The sauce on the pizza was watery thin, with out much substance. The whole pizza didn’t have much«depth» to it. I laughed at a review that said they have had better frozen pizza, they were not kidding. Half of my pizza was burnt, badly. Friends was not burnt, but he totally agreed that it was the worst he has ever had. I guess i was looking for an upscale pizza with a good beer. The place had a great feel to it, the beer selection seemed fair, but i could not imagine ever eating that pizza again. Place gets 2 out of five. If they change the pizza totally i would go back to give it another shot, other than that there are plenty of bars in Denton that i can go to in the place.

This is definitely Denton’s best new bar! With over 60 different beers to choose from in many different styles and a full bar including wine, this bar has something for everyone. The fresh new layout and design is a drastic and very pleasant change from the previous bar it was before. One of the best things about this place is the prices. Every craft beer on tap is only $ 3! Can’t beat that. Now to talk about the food. It is amazing and delivers everything that is promised. The signature menu item is their mozzarella sticks. They use an egg roll wrap and fill it with garlic pepper seasoning, fresh buffalo mozzarella and your choice of meatballs, sweet Italian sausage, or just plain cheese and then fry them up and serve them with a side of marinara sauce. Amazing! The pizza is excellent as well. Fresh handmade dough and a wide variety of fresh, never frozen toppings. The best part is the wood burning brick pizza oven they cook it in. My favorite so far is the carbonara pizza. They place a freshly cracked egg in the middle so when it is served the yolk oozes out on the plate and provides an amazing blend of flavors. The three meat is excellent as well. The best part is that the 10 inch personal pizzas are all under $ 10. Overall this place has an excellent atmosphere, awesome prices, wonderful service, and great food and beer options. I’m very excited for this place and hope it becomes a go to bar for years to come!

With a broad spectrum of Dentonites, from hipsters with mullets to the tattooed to the bikers to the everyday person and a journeyman electrician a soft opening was had on August 2nd. The owner, Rick, is from the northeast(CT) and knows what he wants in a pizza and is attempting to bring that to Denton. Wood fired pizza in a rather impressive pizza oven. The hitch? The dough and sauce are made offsite a few blocks away. He assures that it will work. Time will tell. The pizzas are Neapolitan, thin crust, and the goal is for a crispy crust with a good char on them. For the next several weeks I’d expect it to be hit or miss until the pizza cooks figure out the oven. Essentially it’s like learing how to use your smoker and how temperamental they can be. I’m sure a pizza oven is no different. As for the pizza we got to try at the opening? One truely stood out to me. The Quattro Formaggi. Fontina cheese, mozzerella, parmigiano reggiano and gorganzola. I’ve never had gorganzola on a pizza before and it surprised me how good it was. Some of the other options were pretty diverse like a simple Margherita with crushed tomatoes, basil, mozzerella, parmigiano and EVO. The Diavola with crushed tomatoes, Finnochiona(peppered salami), roasted red peppers, crushed red pepper, garlic, mozzerella and EVO or the Settebello with crushed tomatoes, pancetta, sausage, mushrooms, pine nuts, mozzerella, basil and EVO. They will offer a few salads, sandwiches and an interesting take on cheese sticks that have sweet Italian sausage and are wrapped in an egg roll wrapper. Those will be something to try. All and all, I believe this will be a good addition to Denton and it will give pizza places in the area a run for their money once they get the hang of the oven. Support Denton businesses.
