This place is horrible! Would not even give this place a one star. Worse place in Denver! Shown to our seats, then asked to change seats .The chef was completely uninterested in his job. The manager also didn’t care and expected us to pay for a meal we didn’t even get.

I feel like a three-star rating to too harsh on this restaurant. The food is always very good and the preparation is something to watch. My grandkids love it! We love the fried rice, onion soup, ginger salad and the shrimp appetizer. The mustard and ginger dipping sauces give it a flare and the chicken and beef are always decent. The restaurant is very hard to get into for dinner without reservation and they aren’t the fastest at seating you when you do arrive, but it is always entertaining.

Not the best Benihana I’ve been to. We had a 7:45 reservation for 2, showed up at 7:15 and didn’t get sat until 8:00. The hostess continued to seat walk-ins before us. The food was good– not the BEST but certainly not the worst I’ve had at a Benihana. This is around the 10th location we’ve been to(with about 50 visits in total) and it ranks pretty low when service, atmosphere and quality of food are all factored in. A side not: I have noticed that all Benihanas are skimping on the soup and salad. They’re not as filling as they once were. There are lots of Hibachi restaurants to choose from, Benihana. Don’t start skimping or people will start venturing to other restaurants.

I can’t help but like this place. We had reservations for 7:15 but were not sat until about 7:45. No big deal, as we just had a drink at the bar as we weren’t in a rush. Once sat our server was right over to take our drink orders, etc. I have been to a hibachi on several occasions, so sharing a table with others really isn’t a bother for me. I ordered the surf side, while two others ordered the land and sea. I wasn’t at all disappointed and thought our chef did a great job in cooking everything to perfection. We didn’t have the most entertaining chef, but that could be our fault as well. We were with friends we hadn’t seen in a while so we were more focused on catching up. And the others at our table were doing the same so maybe our chef was keeping it at a minimum as to not interrupt. I find the prices to be reasonable, you are getting a 5 to 6 course meal depending on what you order, and every other hibachi I have been to has about the same prices. I will surely be back.

Our cook Chris was the best. My partner and I visited this location last month. I was certain that I wasn’t going to be impressed(I usually don’t think the cooks are funny) so I prepared myself to remove my RBF and give polite smiles out of courtesy. Chris, though, was so hilarious! From his jokes about baby oil to his experiences«living in Japan» the entire Benihana experience was hilarious. My partner and I were crackin up. We’d visit again just to see him. Lol If you’re curious about the food, food was great. Standard, usual Benihana. Fish bowl drink was awesome.

Oh beniahans how I wanted you to be so magical but you came up sooo short. Ill be honest I only came bc i saw it wolf on wall street. Ha i know… ive heard all about it so i figured hey how bad could it go? … pretty bad. We got there at about 5 pm on a sunday and a 30 min wait ok… well wait hell after all were at THE beniahans! Waited for 10 ish mins sweet! Got seated, not enough room but they still tried to stuff us in there. Noticed the drinks were very expensive 9.50 for a piña colada or if im feeling rich i can get a drink in a commemorative cup! … no thanks anyways got the steak hibachi bf got chicken no choices to have half n half… Got the«world famous fried rice» famous where??? Needless to say nothing special food was blan lacked flavor and soy sauce. After 95 $ left feeling disappointed and gassy wish we would have stuck with mt. Fuji atleast we get a to go box with the large portions… Will never return, better hibachi places around and less expensive. Hell spent 25 just in beer last time i checked they brewed coors here…

Great food and service! Benihana is always a fun experience, we enjoy a little Hibachi dining maybe once every 3 years. Not very often. Our Chef was funny, did some pretty cool tricks and made the experience fun! I love watching my meal get cooked in front of me; I ordered the Steak and Chicken Combo(6 course meal) with veggie fried rice. I also got the Sorbet for desert, which was delicious! A little mishaps here and there with the Chef, but the food was delish! I also got the cold Premium Apple Sake, wich was also good and refreshing. Arigato!

What a terrible Benihana. I’m from Dallas and thought, why not try some reliable food that is consistently delicious. Wrong. Way WRONG. To start, the service was piss poor. It took too long for drinks, refills, a bill, or even to be checked on. The food was terrible. Horrible. I get the miso soup regularly, mine was warm at best and the flavor was bland. The salad was soggy and had more carrots than lettuce. I was then brought a onion soup after telling her I wanted the miso instead when ordering. The chicken was dry and chewy and I barely ate half. I ordered garlic butter because it was so dry and flavorless. I didn’t even wanna chance dessert by this point. The bill came after waiting and I was charged for my soup, and when I inquired was told«oh well I can’t do substitutions» …perhaps you should mention that when I requested at my order to substitute my soup. Never been to such a terrible Benihana. What a sad experience.

Great show and even better food. The Vegas roll is delicious. Don’t pass up the fried rice! We come here weekly and are never disappointed. The amount of food is well worth the price you pay!

First time reviewer, first time complainer. As I write this, its officially been 45 minutes from entrance to being seated. First, we waited for 15 minutes to be seated because there were no servers. Next, we waited 30 minutes to be seen by anyone. But hey, at least the prices are high! Won’t be back!

Use to be our go to place for our weekly work lunch meetings, but now with the new management we are not a fan as much… sadly I enjoyed coming here for the scallops and calamari but they removed them from the options at lunch. Also my colleague enjoyed being able to do half orders of the rolls with the lunch duets but the kitchen can no longer accommodate. Since we could not do scallops, calamari and steak today we order the steak and shrimp duets… It was good but not why we choose to dine here:(not happy about the new management and changes. Although great service from Liat we may not frequent as often now

It’s mediocre food in a decently entertaining atmosphere. I can understand why some people like it, but I just really don’t. Happy hour seems to be a good deal at least.

Went for sushi happy hour on a Friday night. We waited at the sushi bar for 8 minutes or so before having to ask for a place setting. — THEN we even had to ask another server for a server in our section! The bus person was VERY helpful, and apologetic. She even brought our drinks and menus, and then tried to find our server, but clearly it wasn’t her job. Our server was obviously new, and inattentive at best. She messed up the order, and disputed what we’d ordered, even though we pointed out that we’d been charged for it on the receipt. She didn’t even know what some sushi items were. I’ve never sat at a sushi bar where I order my meal from the waitress. The sushi person was more busy frying tempura orders, and didn’t even say hello, even though we were sitting in front of the prep table. They don’t even have a sushi menu for call-out orders, and it seemed the whole sushi thing was an afterthought. The fish was fresh, but bland. Obviously there’s no one there who specializes and knows the finer points of sushi. There’s an aging, selection, preparation and storage process that makes fine steak selection look like child’s play, and it’s just as important as cutting the right pieces. Just buying«sushi grade» fish isn’t enough, I can do that at home. A loud, festive sushi bar is part of a good experience, but this place seemed chaotic and in disarray regarding service and management. Maybe they’d just cleaned house and hired a bunch of new people, but it wasn’t a great experience. The sushi pricing wasn’t exactly«Happy Hour» friendly either. I’ll definitely go somewhere else next time.

Benihana is always a fun dining experience for hibachi Japanese food. We found a birthday coupon and pretty much got 2 for 1 deal, which is great(~$ 30 saving) for a Thursday night. It appeared that everyone else in the restaurant was aware of this offer as well. We heard a «Happy Birthday» chant going off every 5 minutes all night long. If you don’t mind hearing it twenty times in one night, it’s a great deal. The food wasn’t anything special, but it didn’t matter because we got to see it get cooked. A top wold be to avoid the combo meat items on the menu and stick with single meats. The double meat dishes(i.e. Steak and shrimp) often cost more and have less meat than say the chicken alone or steak alone meal. The green tea ice cream is delicious! Just the right amount of sweet!

Have to be 100% honest. I do enjoy myself a night at Benihana. But coming here when I was new to Denver was slightly underwhelming. I remember growing up going here and being so excited to see tricks and fire and all the show that you expect. When eating at this location it was more of just cook, serve and leave. It was just disappointing to my childhood. Young me shed a tear that night. The food deserves four stars but the whole experience we received that night deemed it a three. Luckily our table was the cool one

Great service, awesome happy hour, great location. Love the architecture of the building. The Fish Bowl is amazing, but you might not be standing upright after drinking one. It’s huge!

Not the best teppanyaki place in Denver, but it does the job in a pinch. The service can be hit or miss here such as forgetting to bring your rice, getting the orders mixed up, etc. The teppan chefs are usually friendly, but some of them are really awkward and it makes for an awkward cooking show. I usually get the hibachi steak and shrimp. Most of the time I get it prepared the way I want: medium rare. There’s been a few occasions where it’s been overcooked as the chef was preoccupied. They used to offer gyoza as an appetizer, but not anymore. That’s pretty disappointing. As for parking, there’s a good amount of it. The bathrooms are kept clean. If you come here for happy hour, it’s best if you snag a seat in the bar area as this place gets packed.

It’s a fun place for a birthday dinner and the kids loved watching the hibachi chefs go to work and entertain us. The food quality is pretty good and I would say rather flavorful. The downside to the food prep and delivery is the staggered timing that the food is prepared… First you get your chicken fried rice to start nibbling on… Then they cook up some shrimp and throw some on every plate… Then as your eating away so it food doesn’t get too cold and because it in front of you, they cook the veggies and some of the meat and serve it one item at a time. I honestly don’t really mind it because I’m a big eater anyway, but my wife always ends up with ¾ of her food left over to go because she filled up on the rice, chicken, shrimp and a couple bites of steak and lobster. Not really a complaint, just an FYI… Oh yeah, you also get a very yummy soup and a mediocre salad as well. Worth coming here once a year but not an every weekend dinner spot. Also, be prepared to put all your clothes directly in the hamper as you will smell like hibachi cooking as soon as you walk out the door. Again, not a complaint, just an FYI…

Came for dinner since my sister has a $ 30 Happy Birthday voucher. We ordered the Rocky’s Choice(Hibachi steak and chicken), the Spicy Hibachi Chicken(chicken breast grilled with green onions, and mushrooms in a special spicy homemade sauce), and the Land ‘N Sea(tender filet mignon and sea scallops grilled in butter and lemon). All of them were cooked to perfection and very delicious! Everything came with Benihana Onion Soup and Salad, Hibachi Shrimp Appetizer, Hibachi Vegetables, Mushrooms, Homemade Dipping Sauces, Steamed Rice, Japanese Hot Green Tea and Haagen-Daz Ice Cream with the exception of the Spicy Hibachi Chicken which doesn’t come with Ice Cream but our server gave it to us anyway. One of the other individuals sitting at our table requested a side of the Diablo Sauce and we tried it and from now on we will request it as well. Very delicious complement to the food and not overly spicy. As a side note, if you order the chicken fried rice instead of the steam rice, that will be $ 3.50 additional. Our cook/server was Suarez and he was great in cooking and throwing in little jokes during the preparation of the meal. He has been with Benihana for 18 years and he is a true professional. My sister got a birthday sundae along with a candle and of course, the Happy Birthday song in both English and Japanese. A very enjoyable meal. Sign up for their email rewards program and you can get a Birthday voucher too(with the purchase of another entrée – which is fine since who wants to celebrate and eat a great meal alone).

I was just not very impressed with this place at all. We came in for lunch and I had the Hibachi Scallops. The scallops were not very good– no flavor except for perhaps a less-than-fresh taste. The fried rice was ok but again, not so flavorful. The portion of veggies was very small. Having just visited Mt. Fuji, this was a let down. Though Benihana has a more upscale atmosphere, Mt. Fuji is a much better value.
