Galvanize Denver – Golden Triangle

One of the best decisions I’ve made in my life was to quit my career as a CPA and enter the gSchool program. In a mere 6 months they will give you all the necessary tools to kick start your career in the tech industry. Plus, they guarantee job placement if you graduate!

My review may not be helpful to everyone, as I do not spend my day at Galvanize and I do not go to G school (which I wanted to look into, but it is very expensive!) I actually just attended my first event last night, Women who startup. It is a meetup group that was started by an impressive woman named Lizelle.
Every month women who are involved in the startup community come together to network, collaborate, and support one another. I agree with another reviewer that this place seems to lean heavily towards the tech side. However, I met a wide variety of women with a wide range of talents. I met some photographers, people involved with geomapping, consultants, and marketing guru’s.
I think this space (and particularly this event) is designed with the idea in mind to bring a diverse group together to collaborate to the extent of finding co-​founders, now that is some support!
Lizelle made the point last night that being an entrepreneur can be lonely. I see a great deal of truth in that. It is important for entrepreneurs, thinkers, and doers to come together in a supportive environment to spark one anothers creativity and help each other in whatever way they can.
I will definitely be attending these events monthly from now on.
Some background: I do not have a startup yet, I hope to one day. I found a great deal of inspiration and positivity in this space that could just help jump start my big idea. I strongly encourage women to look into this meetup group. If you aren’t convinced yet, drinks are free for the first hour and a half of the event!

I’ve been to Galvanize once, for the New Belgium Snapshot party. I thought the venue was really cool. And would make a nice neighborhood hangout spot. However it’s a terrible place for a concert. The acoustics are all wrong and it was unbelievably loud (mainly the crowd noise).
Galvanize would definitely be a place that you should check out if you’re looking for event/​conference space.

I think the experience at galvanize will be determined a lot by your personality and career type. If you enjoy large crowds and are in the tech industry you’ll probably love it. It’s a beehive for that industry. However, if you’re not in the «tech» career field, you might feel a bit ostracized…
I think my main issues with Galvanize were that feeling of not being part of this scene because I’m a graphic designer and not a coder-​which is openly spoken, not just implied… and also that I ran into one of the founders during my visit and wasn’t a fan. To that comment I already know he would say «**** you.» Which is why I wasn’t a fan. I personally find it hard to support a business that is rooted in that sort of attitude.
But, I realize that some professionals absolutely love this place and thrive in this environment… it just wasn’t for me.

I’ve been to Galvanize several times for meetings and to meet up with people. I LOVE the space! It’s urban-​feeling and comfortable. The design is perfect for a vibe of a cool community, which I mean in the best way. I plugged in and worked – and would definitely come back to do this.
For refreshment, I was way happy with the delish coffee and good wine. The homemade granola bar was great, above and beyond any I’ve ever had before. All the baked goods are made in-​house. And the helpful barista told me that high quality ingredients were used for all the food. I’d be delighted to try any of it.
Friendly, welcoming. I’m there. Love Galvanize!

Very cool venue, a lot more going on that these reviews seem to indicate! Got here early for a meeting my company is hosting tonight, but the space was occupied. Asked to sit in the zoo, first was told I had to sit in the lobby, but then they were nice and let me pull up a table and get some work done while I wait. Very cool, and thanks!

Pretty empty when I was there, but it’s a decent setup. Looked a bit like a university library, as far as the computer desk layout goes. I liked the café and bar section up front.

Not my favorite neighborhood and there’s not much to do when you’re there, except be there, but great meetup space.
Great collection of startups in the startup zoo, and a bar and a coffee shop don’t hurt either
