History

Established in 1996.

Sensei Marc Hanson started the Kusa Dojo to preserve the expanded art of the Ninja… Ninpo Tai-Jutsu. We follow the Ten Chi Wa Tai-Jutsu interpretation as it was taught to my teacher, Kancho Chadwick Minge, by the Grandmaster himself.

30 years ago the intent was to preserve this ancient combat art. Today we do just that, train in the classical art with the caveat of unlocking the principles of application for self defense in the modern world. This is accomplished in a safe but effective training style, delving every deeper into martial principle and martial art. We foster personal growth, not competition. Proper body mechanics, not strength. Living, not fighting.

Whether you are a student, a housewife, a business person… training at the Kusa Dojo will make you an «artful» modern day Ninja… and…invisible to those around you.

Meet the Manager

Jason W.

Manager

Under the direction of Sensei Marc Hanson, the owner of the Kusa Dojo, and Kancho Chawick Minge, the head of our organization in Los Angeles, my 18 years of study in the art of Ten Chi Wa Ninpo Taijutsu has lead me to the position of Head Instructor at the school for the past two years. It was after several years of training and assisting in class that I knew teaching the art was the direction I needed to pursue. The principles and philosophies from this art have guided me and helped to strengthen my resolve in everyday life as well as assisting me through difficult times. While I have personally benefited and enjoyed my study and teaching of the art at the Kusa Dojo, nothing is more satisfying than sharing the principles and lessons with the new student.
