Delaney is a Colorado native and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Psychology. Delaney moved to California to attend Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles where she received the prestigious Paul Wildman Scholarship. After obtaining her J.D., Delaney began practicing law in California as insurance coverage counsel, dealing primarily with claims arising from residential and commercial construction defects.

In 2012, Delaney moved back to Colorado where she is also licensed to practice, and is focused on estate planning and estate administration.
