Lex at Lowry Apartments

I’d been told by a friend who lived here that the management wasn’t great and the maintenance takes forever to come. I moved in anyway, because the price was right, the spaces are large and the amenities were great. The move in process was a little bumpy but any time I brought up any issues to the office, they were always willing to help or answer any questions I had. Last week we had a pretty big storm that caused several inches of snow. Sadly the crew that’s contracted to clear our neighborhood didn’t show up until 5pm. (Which doesn’t help my 8:30am work schedule). I could see the maintenance guys trying to shovel the ramp to the parking garage then getting stuck in their golf cart. The following day I popped into the office after work just to ask if there was anything they could do. They were honest about it and told me they were actively looking to have a conversation with the company to fix it. They were really friendly and we started chit chatting. I told them when I moved in, my date moved up a few days shortly before and the kitchen lights hadn’t been cleaned and few other minor things that I needed to have fixed but hadn’t submitted anything for yet. They assured me they would submit a work order for me. The next day I received an email advising of the progress. Two days after our conversation, they had already resolved two of the three things I asked about. It was great. Bethany in the office, emailed me again today to follow up with the progress and my satisfaction. I told her they had forgotten one thing but it was minor. I received a call this afternoon from maintenance asking for permission to enter. Here is where I sort of fell in love with my complex. Steve, who fixed something previously called after he initially entered my apartment, because he was worried about my kitten. My kitten is special needs and he is wobbly. Steve wanted to make sure that while he was here, my kitten hadn’t hit his head or something. Truth is, my kitten will always walk like he is drunk and the fact that Steve was worried just melted my heart. It’s rare to encounter someone that cares about things that other people on their position do not. I can’t stop telling all of my friends and family about my experience today. I know my experience may not be the norm, but I tell ya, if you show the management company any level of friendliness, they certainly repay it, ten fold. I have already gotten one friend to move in, and if I could fill the complex with friends I would. I love this place and am happy to call it home.

I absolutely love living at this property! I have lived here for two years and I am excited to be resigning a 3^rd lease. We have had a few different management companies over the last couple of years and the property has also been bought by a new owner. Since all the transitions, there have been nothing but improvements being done! Our new property management company/​team is rocking it! The leasing associates and managers are great… they are attentive and quick to respond if you have any issues. The fact that they follow-​up with us residents and also keep us in the loop about ongoing projects and changes in the community is awesome and much appreciated. The interiors of the buildings have been renovated and updated, the gym and pool plans look great, and the new media center and resident office areas are beautiful and very welcoming for residents and our guests! Another added bonus is that the buildings are not only secure but they make you feel safe.
(Not enough people write reviews when things are good and only when negative situations arise but my complex really deserves a great shoutout!)

It has been an adventure living at The Lex at Lowry. So many awesome amenities coming online really feels good to be updated. I am excited about the new fitness gym, ²⁴⁄₇ finally going to get around to losing a few pounds. Thank you for all that you are doing Greystar!

I have to say, once Grey Star management came and took over Lex at Lowry I’ve noticed many improvements within the community. When Lamar was managing the Lex at Lowry, I’ve never encountered friendly staff. The leasing agents were never polite and I could go on and on with all the things that went wrong when Lamar was in place. However, since Grey Start moved in, I’ve noticed the community changed for the better instantly. The staff are very friendly and they go out of their way to make sure my needs are met and making sure I’m happy with my apartment. However, there is one thing that can be approved is the timeliness and quality of work from the maintenance, but I’ve notice the issues are being address and fixed appropriately.
I do think a new vendor is needed or a new process of keeping track of their work and what apartment they are entering. I had a guy from the vendor company in my apartment working on things and he was listening to his music using my sound bar. The same week, another vendor came in to work on other things, and left the lights on in my apartment. When I called the leasing office to see if anyone was in my apartment they said no one entered my home and I must have left the lights on. A few hours later they called me back saying the vendor was in my apartment working in my apartment.
I want to thank Bethany, Adrianne, Delilah, Victoria, and Lidia for making my experience with Greystar pleasant and working with me when issues arrive.

A couple of months ago, I wrote a very negative review about The Lex at Lowry and since then Greystar has really improved things. And it is due to Bethany Combs and the support of the manager, Adrianne. Bethany came in the day I was so frustrated and picked up the ball and got it rolling. They both have excellent customer service skills. This complex is huge and for just two people to keep the residents happy is an enormous task. The maintenance staff is catching up to speed also. Greystar came in to a nightmare but they have been willing to solve the previous problems. They do not ignore the residents like Laramar did. I am grateful!

DONT MOVE INTO THIS COMPLEX.
This place does not even deserve a star. I have been living here for 4 years, dealing with flooding for 9 months and they don’t even care. There was mold growing all over the basement and I was forced to move to a different unit and they didn’t take care of any extra costs. In the new unit, I have been with no air conditioning for 3 months already and they don’t seem to give a dam about. I have a condition that requires me to stay in a air conditioning home during the summer and they know it and they could care less. They spend their time and money in a new leasing office which looks terrible btw, leaving the people who live in their community suffering extreme cold and heat condirions. If you call their maintenance # they will tell you that flooding, extream cold and heat are an emergency but they don’t treat it like one. Managment is disgusting. They don’t care. Terrible customer service. No maintainance # after hours so you have to suffer.

I think that I have been more than patient with this apartment complex but I honestly just can’t possibly see how they stay in business. This goes for both the OLD and NEW management, effective July, 2015.
The carpets in this place are disgusting and stained in the hallways. I live in a corner unit and every morning at 7:00 AM the maintenance people open and close the storage door which happen to be directly below my bedroom closet. It is incredible loud, annoying, and completely unnecessary for them to use it knowing that it ruins any possible chance to sleep past 7:00 AM… even on the weekends!
It’s the other things too: the hot tub is broken almost every time I want to use it, the pool smells funny, you have to run the water for 5 minutes if you want it cold, and the shower can’t keep up a steady temperature.
The last straw was today; I wanted to book the guest room A MONTH IN ADVANCE for my friend who needs a place to stay for one night. Sure enough, can’t do THAT because they let someone book the spare room for an entire month! What is the point in offering these «perks» for over $ 1,300 in rent /​month when you can’t deliver on a single promise?!?
I hate it here and am counting the months until I move. Don’t stay here, keep looking.

I live in one of the townhouse units and it is very nice. My problem with this place is everyone parks wherever they want too. Even sometimes in front of my garage port. Cars parked all over parking lot not in parking spots. It is a real pain to deal with everyday. I have mentioned this several times to the office staff and I have been told they will look into it. Well it’s been a year now and nothing has changed. I have mentioned this several times. I really like all the neighbors and don’t have any issue with noise or rude neighbors. Oh the other big issue I have is the two people murdered in one of the apt buildings. Two gang bangers were killed sat St. Patrick weekend and so far no suspects. Otherwise no other issues at this time.

This is a HORRIBLE place to rent. The management is non responsive and the maintenance too. They are horrible in customer service. This is such an awful place to live. I am counting the days to move. Do not rent here!

Our decision to leave is a great one! We found a two bedroom less than a mile away for the same amount they quoted us for our one bedroom here. Since my last review they started plans for new amenities but haven’t touched the existing ones. I’ve been living in a construction zone for the past few weeks so getting a baby to nap is next to impossible. Notice a bunch of people moving out but no one moving in. That puts extra «community fees» on leftover tenants bills.

TERRIBLE PLACE FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE!!!
I have lived at the Lex at Lowry (before that it was the Berkshires at Lowry) and I have come to find that the people in charge are AWFUL at good, pleasant customer service and even worse at completing maintenance requests AND MAKING SURE IT DOESN’T BREAK AGAIN.
The water gets turned off in the entire complex just about twice a month for at least 24 hours for ‘maintenance purposes’ and the complex gives you notice of this the afternoon before IF YOU’RE LUCKY. I have had crappy half-​attempts at maintenance fixing my shower, balcony door handle, and other quick-​fixes. Ended up going to a hardware store, buying the equipment and doing it myself .
Most recently, in 1 degree weather and BELOW ZERO NIGHTS, the building I am in at the Lex at Lowry HAS NO HEAT in some of the units. Eventually affected tenants were provided with two small, book-​sized space heaters… but I cannot make use of them because I HAVE NO ELECTRICITY. We were not informed of when things would be functioning, and the worker who came to look at our fusebox (and there was a huge language barrier) ended up breaking our oven rather than fixing anything.
Thank you SO MUCH for this wonderful living experience… I’m so glad I’m locked into another year long lease and that you RAISED THE RENT… but apparently the tenants’ money isn’t going towards anything useful.
