On My Best Behavior specializes in a range of treatment for family dog issues, ranging from puppy training and socialization, basic manners and training for all dogs such as jumping, barking, and pulling on leash. We treat fear and aggression issues, including lunging/​barking/​growling on leash, bites to dogs or people, hiding and cowering. We also work with families with children or who are planning to have children.

History

Established in 2012.

Shannon has been working with families and their dogs since 2004, and after pursuing her education (3 separate academies) with Pat Miller in MD began helping families with their dogs in 2011.

Business Owner

Professional dog trainer Shannon Applegate studied dog training at Pat Miller’s respected Peaceable Paws Dog and Puppy Training Academy, where she earned the top overall score in two of her classes. She has attended 3 Academies (including Behavior Modification and Canine Aggression) and is a Pat Miller Certified Trainer. She is certified in Pet First Aid and CPR, and belongs to the Association of Professional Dog Trainers as well as the Pet Professional Guild. She also regularly attends workshops, seminars and conferences in order to stay abreast of the latest research on canine behavior. Shannon uses her years of dog training education and experience to help dogs and dog owners better understand each other and live more fully together.

Shannon has been working with dogs professionally for over nine years as a dog trainer, dog walker, and dog sitter. She has been a volunteer dog trainer at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley.
