Yelping in Candyland Elite Event @ Yours Truly Cupcake

What a great event! I had an awesome time, thanks Unilocal crew!
The cupcakes were all very tasty. My fave has to be the apple one, I forgot the name but it was at the Breckenridge Distillery table. The drinks were fab, I highly enjoyed the Pinnacle Vodka drink and the pear cider. Loved the candy table and enjoyed my take home treats very much. Nice atmosphere and was excited to meet new Unilocalers.
Overall a great time and tasty treats/​drinks. Looking forward to my next Unilocal event!

Another amazing event from Tiffany. I’m feeling sorry for anyone who’s going to be taking over for her because she has done so well. I hope to still see her around.
So after dinner we headed over to the Candyland event. Well we were greeted with a game bored and tons of candy! We got to try all kinds of amazing cupckaes with amazing spirits. There was a pineapple right side up cake which was really yummy with a great drink that I really liked though ti was a little strong. Then we tried a Fox cider type drink with a gingerbread cupcake that was wonderful. We had Pabst cupcakes and apple cupcakes and a peach cupcake! So many wonderful cupcakes. We didn’t get to make our own cupcake but the owner of Yours Truly Cupcakes invited us to come in sometime to do that. I was excited!
There was a DJ and a make your own Sundae bar and burbon. We also got some neat Unilocal swag. My sweet hubby got to win

I had a blast. Tiffany and co. did another bang up job and being able to walk there was icing on the cake!

This was a great event. Thanks to Yours Truly Cupcake for the awesome and creative treats and thanks to the great drink sponsors for introducing me to Colorado bourbon. This event was a lot of fun.

This was a really cool event idea but OMG SO MUCH SUGAR. I tried the cupcakes at each drink booth and after that I was pretty much maxed out on the sweets. I even ate at pretty hearty dinner before. There were lots of other sweet yummies too… my favorite (took some home with me) were the awesome grandma and grandpa candies. I have no idea what else to call it but I always saw those at the grandparents house growing up… and I loved them!
The candyland-​esque game was fun and the gingerbread cookie photo spot was awesome! Looking forward to the next event!

My +1 and I loved this event! To be far we arrived right at 7:00 pm so we were almost first through the door. I am sure this precipitated us having more everything at our disposal.
I think I put myself into a sugar coma. Scratch that, I am positive that I put myself into a sugar coma. Between the ice cream, cupcakes, candy, and alcohol, I might have had sugar levels in the 600 range. And for that, I have no regrets.
Can I also say I was beyond excited that I won a bucket of candy? I think we all know I don’t need more candy but want is not the same as need.

Cupcakes and Candyland are two of my favorite things, and this event was certainly a good way to bring them together. I LOVED the Gingerbread Cupcake, and the Crispin Cider (especially the pear) — clearly will need to pick up some of that for my next house party.
The space was cool, but it was a little odd going outside — we almost missed the second room. Also, while we loved the candy bar idea, they were out of backs and most of the candy when we got there… at 7:20, plus the vodka station was out of cupcakes. I think it was a little too crowded for our tastes, and maybe the cupcakes were overwhelmed by the number of attendees?
Either way, we made new friends who like Laffy Taffy, and I got a fabulous shot with Sugah, the Gingerbread Person. Definitely a fun night!

This was my first elite event and it was a lot of fun. My husband came with and we tried more cupcakes than we thought possible! The drink pairings were good, some better than others, and the crowd was great.
I look forward to future events — hopefully more of them will cater to my inner child, who very much enjoyed the sugar options of the night!

Cupcake and cocktail pairings? Brilliant!
This event was a very fun, unique few hours out in the middle of the week to unwind a little bit before the weekend. The cocktails were delicious and funky (though I loved the cider the most) and the cupcakes were also super unique and tasty as hell. I could eat Guinness chocolate cupcakes every day for the rest of my life.
Props to our awesome community manager Tiffany and Kelly for hosting, and the other Tiffany of Yours Truly for putting it all together. It was a great night out!

This was definitely my favorite social Unilocal event to date. I got to try all of the different cupcake flavors, which were crazy amazing, and even discovered that I really dig a good bourbon drink (Cheers to Breckenridge Distillery for that delicious cocktail they whipped up!).
It was a great chance to chat up some fellow Unilocalers, and I even got to meet and chat with miss Katy H., the CM in Seattle.
I’m definitely looking forward to try some of the other flavors that Yours Truly Cupcake has to offer. I’ve already thought of a few events I can order some cupcakes for!

God, after leaving this place I had the song «Sugar High» from Empire Records in my head. This event was awesome (and this is coming from a girl who has to watch her sugar!) Candy land was one of my favorite games growing up so getting to re-​live those days in an adult setting was the best! We got there a little early bu the party was already bumping – one area in the Yours Truly Cupcake tasting room (they don’t sell their cupcakes in a traditional bakery setting, you have to schedule a tasting and they cater for corporate events), the other area next door was where the party was going on — spirits, candy, music and all!
You stepped into the area and on the ground was multicolored pieces of paper to resemble the Candy land board along with high top tables set up with different sugary concoctions. Add a ice cream sundae station, DJ and friendly, dancing gingerbread man (who was really a girl) and it was a sugary-​sweet, cavity inducing atmosphere!
The cupcakes were outstanding and bite size — -literally! My favorites of the night were the Pineapple Right Side Up (with paired well with the whipped cream and pineapple juice concoction) along with the Peach cupcake topped with *gasp* goat cheese AND cream cheese frosting. I’m all about anything goat cheese and never heard of it mixed in with frosting so this just delighted me. I was a little bummed that the decorate your own cupcake ran out so quickly but what can I say, our Denver Unilocal Elite crew is all about the free stuff :)
Props to the Unilocal crew, Yours Truly Cupcakes and the different hooch providers for making this a fabulous evening.
The best part? When I checked my blood glucose the next morning it was right where it needed to be. Winning.

This was a really cute idea for an event! When I was little I used to want to be *in* Candyland. I loved playing the game and I loved the game board. I thought the décor was so fun and fitting! The cupcake bites were fantastic and I loved that they were paired with some awesome CO distilleries. Breckenridge Bourbon is seriously my favorite ever so I was more than pleased to see them there, and their drink was my favorite, but the pineapple drink was a close runner up. I loved making my own bag of to-​go candy and the Hammonds pop was a nice treat. Too bad I missed out on the peach/​basil and goat cheese mini cake. That sounded so interesting, I was eager to try it but when we got up to the area after waiting in line they were all gone.
People should really check themselves at these events. I don’t know if the owner prepared enough but I did talk with her and she seemed to think that people might have been taking more than their share. Not Cool Unilocalers, not cool.

Another wonderful Unilocal Elite event. I loved walking into the space with the floor covered like an actual Candyland game — how fun!
I thoroughly enjoyed all of the cupcakes and cocktail concoctions being offered, I really enjoyed the one with bourbon. The peach and goat cheese cupcake was a favorite of mine and the apple spice cupcake that paired with the bourbon cocktail. I enjoyed all the pictures the gingerbread-​woman, that was a nice touch.
I’ll have to agree with most everyone else that the cupcakes seemed to be limited for the Cupcake Event which was odd. I liked the idea of all other candy, ice cream social bar, and all the Unilocal schwag. Whatever you do don’t check my bag — I think it was full of candy and schwag. With that said if the event advertises Cupcakes I would hope there was enough cupcakes to last two hours of hungry Unilocalers.
Good try, hopefully the next time the food will last the whole event. Good time hanging with all my fellow Unilocalers — always a good time when I’m around my peeps.

This was another fun and cool event. Although I am typically more of a savory guy, I enjoyed attending an event dedicated to sweets. The drinks were excellent and plentiful. I liked the pear cider quite a bit. I thought it was nifty to get my picture taken with Sugah (the gingerbread gal), I also had one taken with the racy «Disney princess» cupcake pusher. The ice cream and candy was very neat. The Unilocal schwag was free-​flowing. The event space was very intimate, bordering on claustrophobic. I was happy that the space next door had been co-​opted for the event. Being able to step outside for a breath of fresh air, and follow the velvet ropes between the spaces was much appreciated.
The cupcakes were definitely the star of the show. The peach with goat cream cheese frosting with basil was my favorite. The flavors in it were rich and contrasting, and yet were in perfect harmony. I also was rather bummed when Cheryl L. showed up and 90% of the cupcakes were long gone. I do understand how tasty treats inspire locust-​like behavior, however some of them seemed to disappear very fast.

It was a decent event, but I wish there was more focus on the cupcakes, rather than just candy. While this event was a considerable amount of fun, I would have preferred a more structured tasting. Perhaps a scheduled seating with courses of cupcakes and cocktails would have allowed us to savor each selection and learn more about them.
Speaking positively, I loved learning about the local distilleries, which seem to be overshadowed by the vast numbers of microbreweries in the area. The cupcakes were really tasty and creative. I really enjoyed the Breckenridge Brandy cocktail, I will definitely make and effort to visit them the next time I’m in Breck. The pineapple upside-​down cupcake was by-​far my favorite cupcake. A big thanks to Tiffany and all of the other Unilocal staff for putting on a fun night.
On a completely different note, WTF is up with the modern Candyland? All of the characters are skinnier and considerably happier/​nicer. What happened to the evil, dark and slightly creepy characters? Why is there no more peanut brittle?! However, this isn’t the forum to discuss the degradation of childhood games.

I would have loved to give this more stars but…
The Unilocal crew is always great and should always get 5 stars.
The reason for the 2 star review is because the event is listed from 7 to 9 PM. I arrived at about 7:35 — there was plenty of candy, booze and great company. What this Cupcake event was lacking was CUPCAKES… How do you run out of cupcakes ½ hour into an event.
Tiffany Rose was nice enough to break out a secret stash and I was able to try the Red Hot (I think that was the name). It was very tasty.
I view these Elite events as a way to showcase local business and for them to entice me to come back and give them a try again in the future. When there really isn’t anything for me to try then how do I know if I want to come back.

What a fun time! I always enjoy these events because I get to see old Unilocal friends and meet new ones! Although it was a bit difficult and somewhat yucky, trying to shake hands with people after licking my cupcake-​sticky fingers. Note to self: bring wet wipes to Unilocal Events.
Anyway, the cupcakes and drink pairings were delightful as was owner Tiffany Rose! I really enjoyed chatting with her and am seriously thinking of having an small event I have to host at her facility now. It would have never occurred to me if hadn’t attended this event.

See, I wasn’t even supposed to be here. But when I realized that I’d be missing one of T-​Dogs rockin parties, I wept a little. Then I begged to come. She took pity upon me, and I can’t thank her enough! Crispin Cider! Colorado Whiskey! Margarita Bloody Cupcakes! Yowza!
And the staff in my clinic thank you profusely for the bag of candy that I procured and placed in the break room.
On top of all that, we had Kelly dancing up a storm on the sidewalk!

Whoever is taking over for Tiffany N. as Denver’s new CM is going to have some BIG shoes to fill. And big bellies. Because we Unilocalers love to eat and drink.
While drinking booze and eating cupcakes is, to me, akin to drinking soda and eating donuts (ughhh), my pancreas and I made the exception for this event tonight. Though honestly, I went more for the mini cupcakes (and ice cream) than the booze because then I could convince myself that the chewing burned some of the kcals vs. me just drinking them via cocktail.
I would say my two faves were the Pineapple and the Peach with Goat Cheese Frosting. The peach one was SO interesting and something I never would have thought of. The best cocktail (also IMO) was the pineapple. Yeah, I’m a fan. It was also super swell there was free candy for the taking. If you made it to the candy table in time, that is…
