RUSH Performance: Personal Training Studio

Terrible, absolutely terrible experience! I responded to a Facebook Suggested Post and went in for a free session and evaluation. AJ measured and weighed me and I told him I was there for help and wanted to change my ways and wanted to lose 75 lbs. I am very overweight and sedentary but did everything he asked me to do for approx 40 minutes. In my mind I was thinking it was too much, but he’s a trainer and I trusted him. I was able to do just about everything he asked of me and I was eager to please and get help, then afterwards we sat down and I got the run down.
It was your typical hard sell, he’s going to help me and has a great plan, he builds me up, has me write down my vision of my perfect day for myself once the weight is gone, all that stuff. Am I ready to get started? Ok then, here’s the price for the 12 week program. Total value of this much, but I’m asking this much and if you sign up now I’ll take another $ 500 off. Blah blah! It was $ 1700 for 12 weeks, or only $ 1200 if I signed up now. I explained I couldn’t decide on the spot and had to discuss with my husband. Nope, then the price would be $ 1700. But I can do 3 payments if that makes it easier but I have to do it now. I still wouldn’t bite without taking to my husband and I could feel his attitude change and now I’m a terrible person for not wanting to do whatever it takes to lose the weight. I said I was sorry and would let him know. I collected my things and got no thanks for coming or let me know, I’d really like to help… na da!
After I got home I felt bad about the experience but it was the next night things really got bad. I started to stiffen up and ache. I was in great pain and my legs and back ached horribly. I have had a trainer in the past, I have gone to group classes and used fitness centers in the past and believe me I know what sore is, but this was beyond sore. He pushed me too hard and should have known better than to put someone so heavy and out of shape and who admittedly had been living a sedentary lifestyle for years through such a rigorous 40 minute ‘evaluation’. I did not pay for the session as it was free, but I did PAY! For 6 or 7 days I struggled with pain, tightness and soreness like I have never felt before. Does this sound like the work of a good trainer? I had to miss a day of work because I could hardly get dressed and now, 2 months later, I’m still having back pain and honestly I just do not feel right since that session. Contacting a lawyer has come to mind but I have already deleted all of the emails and texts I had about my appointment/​session.
This guy just wants money in my opinion. He’s not interested in helping unless you slap down $ 1200. Personal training is not cheap, but this is not even 1 on 1 time, it’s a tiny gym with several people working out on their own and a few trainers around watching and encouraging you, helping you as you need it. I highly recommend you look elsewhere for your fitness needs.

If you’re looking for a great private gym, RUSH is the place. To be honest, I was very intimidated when I joined, but it took me just one class to get over that. Everyone that works there, from the trainers to the nutritionists are so friendly and very helpful. Even the other members, who work out with you, are very helpful and supportive. It really feels like a group effort whenever I go. Everyone is just so supportive of one another, whether you’re a beginner or advanced. The trainers do challenge you, but it is just the right amount. I don’t think that I’ve ever left a class disappointed, rather feeling accomplished in the work I’ve done. If you’re the type of person that needs that extra little push to get you going and keep you on track, RUSH is for you. Give it a try; I don’t think you’ll be sorry!

They’ve taken away the 45 min workout and replaced with 30 min strength or cardio workouts. If you pay more you can do back to back sessions to get both and then it’s also unlimited for the month. I gave some feedback regarding the convenience of the schedule but did not receive a response. I love still love the people and trainers but the overall verdict is still out.
I’ve had success at this gym but the little things are starting to add up so I’m less apt to refer friends.

Great gym! Each workout is different, trainers push you to do your best, and there is a great community atmosphere.

If you’re looking for a workout that’ll get your heart rate going and get an amazing workout in 45 minutes, this is the place for you! The staff is super friendly and will help you at all levels. I walked in here slightly intimidated by all the equipment but quickly learned the coaches are here to help you learn great form and proper workout techniques. They do a great job of incorporating strength and cardio equally in a workout. Rolando’s classes are the best, upbeat, leaving you feeling amazing. If you aren’t cursing your trainers name at least once during a workout, they’re doing it wrong. Take it from me, you’ll be cursing some names but thanking them immediately after.

I bought a GROUPON in March which I thought it was a great deal! For 10 Zumba classes, hip hop or yoga.
Then when I tried to use it there is not very many classes for Groupon holders, and there is a pre registration online. Where they used to ask you to enter a credit card. (classes are already paid for) they fix that on the web site.
I have been trying to get in a class since I bought the Groupon along with one friend. We havent had a change to attend to one single class, they are always booked.
I will not recomend to people to buy GROUPONS to this place at all. I even tried to email the owner AJ and he answers super late and says, try to book as soon as you see an opening, like if looking at their website everyday is the only option to find an opening.
I was finally able to book my classes last week 10 of them 5 yoga and 5 zumba. I was very excited that today, I was going to start with the Yoga class and received an email saying that the class is CANCELLED!!! what after all this months of waiting ???
I don’t even feel like I want to go thru this stress to attend some classes.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE… EVEN BEFORE HAVING A REAL EXPERIENCE AT THIS PLACE!!!

I purchased a Groupon for 10 zumba classes. This was such a great deal! You sign up online & there are separate classes for people with Groupons. It was a bit difficult to sign up for classes because most people continually sign up for certain days in advance (I always ended up on Saturday’s wait list). They really only offer classes at night during the week which can be tricky for some people’s schedules.
The times that I was able to attend the classes I had a good time. The music is fun and everyone works up a sweat. My one critique about the class is that the instructors do not clearly instruct which moves they are about to do next. I have taken zumba at different studios that have used a headset microphone to direct the class & the counts. Unless you attend several classes with the same instructor you feel a bit lost.

LOVE IT! Initially saw the 20 class groupon and thought why not? Well I went thru my groupon and went on to purchase a 20 class pass and have NO REGRETS! I am totally in love with their Cardio Hip Hop classes. Ria is the best! She works you like there is no tomorrow! Check it out… you don’t have anything to lose except a few pounds.

I purchased a 20 class Groupon a few months ago and I’ve attended about 10 classes so far. This is my first time trying Zumba and I’m in LOVE! AJ does a great job and he encourages creativity. Sometimes, I’m not able to pick up on the moves so I just do my own thing… It’s great!

Great classes! For someone that hadn’t worked out in 3 years and that hates almost all exercise, these classes actually make me want to work out over and over again! Instructors are great, classes are fun, makes you sweat and I am not spending the hour staring at the clock! Only things that prevent me from giving a 5 star rating are that some classes were changed (the times) and we were not informed or given prior notice and I know that some people who did not use their groupon immediately found the demand too great to be able to sign up for classes. It would be great if the space could be increased or more classes added to keep up with the demand as the classes are tons of fun and have gathered quite a following.

Purchased a groupon, but they didn’t hold enough classes to keep up with demand. Groupon holders are limited each class and these spots were always filled. In a six month period I was not able to sign up for a single class! Multiple emails to the company were not returned. Very disappointed. What a waste.

Fabulous independent gym with great prices for the services they offer. Two things I like best about this place.
#1 THE PEOPLE — everyone is so friendly and the instructors get to know all of their students
#2 — THE ZUMBA — I burn about 600 to 800 calories per each 60 min class but I never feel like I’m working out. It’s just so much fun! AJ picks great songs with fun and creative choreography.
Don’t bother with those huge franchise gyms that provide no personal service and flatten your wallet. Support local small businesses!

I highly recommend this cute gym. Got ten classes through groupon because I was looking for a solid Zumba class to try out! Low and behold I found what I was looking for.
Susan kicks our butt in Zumba! She goes all out with her different Latin/​hip hop/​aerobic moves!
This gym also offers other classes like yoga, hip hop, and personal training.
