Universal Windows Direct of Chicago

I first heard about universal windows at a show where I was looking for companies to help me spruce up my house. Most of my windows were old and did not open very well. I always felt cold air coming in. John was very knowledgable and was able to help me pick out the perfect Windows to complement my new siding when he came to my house. He was very upfront with pricing and how long it would take to get the job done. I’m happy to have new windows for the winter.

We are EXTREMELY happy with Universal Windows!!! John went above and beyond to make us happy and when needed, he was always willing to awnser any questions and even come back out to our home several times. We had all of our windows replaced throughout our home, which is over 5,000 square feet. There were NO issues at all with the install. The installers are very professional and did an amazing job all around. The whole process was very smooth and I would highly recommend this company! If you are looking for high quality windows and a company that stands by there word, I would choose this one! Please, do your research people! We did and it really paid off!!! We were initially happy with the ease of ordering our new windows for the whole house, however things quickly took a turn for the worse. The project was scheduled to take a total of 3 days which began on Oct 26^th, but I currently have the installers in my house today to finish the project (today is Jan 28^th)! The first error began on the first day when they installed the wrong windows in our master bath. They also ordered the wrong windows for the master bedroom. But through many conversations, John convinced us to keep the «wrong» windows in the master bath for a discount. They did reorder the master bedroom windows, so we had to wait on those. Later we discovered that they installed the wrong facing hinged window in the kids bathroom. When they came to fix it, they ended up installing the wrong facing hinged window in our master bath, rather than the kids bath. John blamed me for telling him the wrong information over the phone, which my husband and I were appalled by. So from November to now, we had to wait for the final new windows to arrive and be installed in both the kids and master bath. A side note, several of the screens have holes in them right after being installed. Very disappointed in this company and their customer service, especially considering how much we spent on this project!

I met with many companies to receive quotes for new windows for our entire home. After much research, I decided that I wanted «Polaris» vinyl windows, and I was referred to Universal Windows Direct to install the windows I was looking for. Of all the company representatives that I met with during our window search, John L. from Universal Windows Direct, seemed the most honest and accommodating. He really wanted to be sure that we were happy with the product and installation. Since our initial project, we have used Universal Windows Direct again to install new windows and a new patio door in our sun room. We couldn’t be happier. It is so nice having a home with properly functioning windows!

Universal replaced the patio door at my parents house and the experience was great. They helped work with our budget and their salesman and employees were so nice!

I worked with Universal Windows Direct to purchase and install four bedroom windows at my condo. I had an additional requirement for the basement window, as the previous owner had installed an iron safety bar. The installation team had to remove the previously installed iron bar and reinstall it after the window installation. It was a pleasure working with every person in the company, from sales, to scheduling, to installers and the office manager. I felt that they were prompt and considerate. I windows I purchased feel and look good, and they carry a strong warranty. I highly recommend Universal Windows Direct to anyone who wants to invest in new windows.

Universal Windows Direct replaced our aging sliding glass door with a custom slider. They were fantastic through the whole process. They worked directly with a manufacturer to create a custom design that met our needs. And the install was professionally accomplished. Would definitely recommend.
