Great lunch and dinner meals. Can’t say the same for breakfast. Felt a bit rushed when ordering and eating.

This place is the dirtiest place I was going in to meet some friends why they chose that place beats me, but anyway saw a mouse running around, the bathroom was gross and I saw a waitress eat off a plate she was carrying out. Gross again soI left though the store, and there was a heavy set dark haired girl talking on the phone I was waiting to ask a question she was not having it. I left I was A horrible experience and I would never ever going there a recommended

All I can say is if your looking for service, go somewhere else. Big neighborhood hang out so the waitresses think everyone that goes there has all day! If your there to eat and leave, go somewhere else!

Really great food. Awesome service. You should really try their cheese eggs. Home fries are awesome as well. I would recommend them 10 out of 10 times

Friendly service, great breakfast options. Everything was cooked properly including the potatoes(previous reviews had me nervous). We will definitely return!

A few weeks ago I spent all day moving and was looking for some late night dinner w my family. Gerards is one of the only places in town who honors their hours and stays open as listed. So at 10:45 we were able to get AMAZING food. The chicken parm sandwich is no joke. It’s giant and insanely delicious. Gerard himself was there when we arrived and was friendly, welcoming, & accommodating. We will definitely be back and are happy to have found such a great local place!

I went here on Veterans Day with my mom and our waitress was amazing her name was Eileen she was so nice. We really enjoyed our breakfast as well. I had the two buttermilk pancakes and a side of home fries. The home fries could have been crispier but they were delicious in their own way. All in all it was a great place to go for breakfast.

I honestly cant believe the high ratings on this place. i went to breakfast last weekend the food was very bland, not impressive at all and we had the most horrible service I’d ever had. The server spent her entire time chatting with friends and completely out of sight and we literally had to hassle the food runner to get her for us for simple things like water, coffee, and syrup. The table next to us were in the same boat. That being said, i’m a server and know that one bad server cant define the whole restaurant. In that case though, the food should make up for it. Our food was… blah. The corned beef hash is canned and bland, the homefries were crap, my omelette was overcooked. Far too many other choices in adams village to give this place another try.

Mckenna was packed, as usual, so we decided to try a new brunch spot in the area. As soon as I walked in, 2 waitresses and a bartender looked at me and then went back to talking to each other like I wasn’t even there. At that point, I was glad I ordered takeout. As I was about to pay, I realized I was charged extra. Apparently, the prices on the website haven’t been updated in a long time. Okay… So after I pay, I’m left hanging with a receipt and no food because the waitresses couldn’t get it together long enough to give me the food. Overall, crap service for takeout and food was average.

I’ve only been here for breakfast so far. I really like their breakfast options and the food has always been delicious. The service is slow and they don’t check back much, and sometimes forget some of your items or give you the wrong check, but they are always really nice about it, you just have to speak up when they mess something up. Sometimes they have a live session band playing which is great! I think it’s cool that the entrance is through the corner store, I think it gives it an old neighborhood feel and I haven’t seen that since I was a kid.

Food is always good in here. Service is good. Perfect for a good dinner after work and doesn’t cost you a fortune. Nice clean bar.

Best breakfast around. Period. Large portions and good service. Been going for years specifically for the fat omelettes

Yummiest breakfast ever here. I love the little shop full of British/Irish treats too :). The butcher shop down the block is great too — they sell crisps, frozen toastie bread and the creamiest Cadburys I ever tasted.

Found this place on Unilocal as we wanted to try something new for breakfast. Entrance is funky since you have to walk through the convenience store to get into the restaurant. Then there really isn’t anyone to greet you so that they can seat you. You just kind of have to wait till someone recognizes you. Bf ordered the house omelette and I had the eggs florentine. They both came with toast and home fries. The poached eggs came out on two pieces of wheat toast with cheese melted over it. The flavor was what you’d expect as it is just cheese and eggs. The home fries were unexpectedly good. Nicely seasoned. We ordered corned beef hash and Irish sausage for the sides. Now every time I wanna try something new I’m disappointed and sadly it’s the same with the Irish sausage. Kinda weird plasticy taste to it. The corned beef hash was typical and morning special to them. The service was very sparse as it was packed but they barely stopped by the table and we had to wait a while to ask for the check and for them to pick up the payment. Overall… I wouldn’t stop by here if I was In the neighborhood as the good is average and if you’re looking for some simple simple breakfast then this will be your place.

My wife«dragged» me here after dropping my mom off at the airport one morning. We were the only people dining in, aside from an elderly gentleman sippind his coffee and reading the paper. Granted, it was only 7am when we strolled in. Food was ok, but nothing I would come back for. Not sure what the fuss is about. I had the Irish breakfast, and have had the same/better at other places in Boston for about the same price; value wasn’t great. I think we dropped about $ 30 for breakfast. I felt like I can get about the same at Denny’s(minus the black/white pudding of which I only got two very small bites…) Will I be back? Maybe, if I am in the area, but won’t make the trip specifically for this place.

Good, stick-to-your-ribs breakfast food. This isn’t «brunch»…This is… SPARTA! … I mean breakfast. Irish breakfast satisfies this definitely non-Irish guy.

I’m sure by now a Unilocaler has mentioned the entrance issue. So, I’ll leave that alone. I came here for a quick breakfast one Sat. morning. I was so surprised by the HUGE helping of pancakes I received upon ordering. The service is a bit slow, but if you’ve got time to waste, hey! The pancakes were buttery and crisp around the edges, with just the right amount of fluffiness. I could only eat half of the cakes, they were so huge. I asked for eggs over medium, I got them over EASY. Not good. I’ve come to accept this type of stuff from waitresses. See: «tip» for more info on how that’s dealt with. In any case, I’ll likely be back for the pancakes.

We went here for lunch today. We thought everything was great. We like to try so many places, from diners to white table cloth; Ethnic food-trucks to dive bar. For what it is — local comfort food with great value eats, we thought it was a win! I got the fish n chips, love the fries with the coating(cornstarch I’m guessing because very delicate). Fish seemed to be Haddock. Corn meal coating, instead of batter, which was different than usual, but very good. Cole Slaw came with, a bit on the sweet side like it is store bought, but still good. Wife got the Irish BLT, made with Irish Bacon(to each their own…) and she was in heaven. Fries and cole slaw there too. We’re looking forward to going back! We hear the Full Irish Breakfast is wonderful
