Grease Monkey

I went in to Grease Monkey today for a safety and emissions check so I could get our vehicle registered in Utah. They were polite & quick. They are also located just over a mile from the Draper DMV office, which made the process even more convenient. I would definitely recommend this location!

I took my 2000 Jeep in for a Safety and Emissions to the Draper location. I bought it in at the end of the day, about 5:15pm. I mention the time, because i have found that at many shops you get kind of an attitude that late in the day. Not from these guys. They took my vehicle in, and completed what I needed in record time. I mean, they were FAST. A+ service, and they were 5 bucks cheaper than the guys next door.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! I took my car here for safety and emissions and failed the first time. I fixed EVERYTHING they asked for and they failed my vehicle a second time. I took my car to another facility where it passed no problem. When I called back to complain, they were very rude unprofessional and said they couldn’t wait for us to be pulled over by highway patrol for our vehicle. I will NEVER take my car here again. When I asked for the name of who I was speaking with, her refused to give it to me and hung up on me.

I spent 40 bucks just so they would top off my transmission fluid… but they refused to put in any transmission fluid & still forced me to get an oil change!!!
I told them the only reason I came in was to top-​off my transmission fluid but the manager said «we don’t fill the fluid unless we can confirm its low» (they said I had no dipstick… ug). I told them I have had my car for years, and it’s leaking fluid and I add 2 quarts per month, so I needed 2 quarts. I told the manager I would sign a waiver if needed (so they wouldn’t take liability), but that I just needed the transmission fluid filled.
I then requested to cancel my oil change (since the whole point was to top off my transmission fluid)… They said, NO, we are already doing the oil change & you CAN’T cancel it.
I then left & went to 4 different auto-​parts, & hardware stores trying to get a funnel that would fit my transmission fluid line and I ended up having to make a funnel out of paper & fill it myself. I also had to go purchase more transmission fluid (even though I already paid Grease Monkey to top off my fluids).
My radiator anti-​freeze wasn’t topped off either —
Now I’m wasting my time writing this review on Unilocal… I get no satisfaction for leaving a 1-​star review, but I also get no satisfaction when I pay for something & don’t get it.

I take all my company vehicles and my personal cars to Brandon the Manager. Great honest prices and exceptional customer service. They don’t force stuff you don’t need down your throat like Jiffy Lube does. Highly recommend this place.

Excellent service. I got my car emissions done here, they accepted an expired coupon and were extremely fast and friendly. If it took 5 minutes that’s a lot, I was literally in and out. Not pushy for sales, just mentioned recommendations. I definitely recommend this place.

WARNING: Dishonest practices here. They have never EVER charged me extra for an oil filter here (uhh…isn’t that part of the service???) but when I went back recently they wanted to charge 10 dollars extra for the filter, saying it was a «special» filter. It’s the most basic filter there is on the market. Will never go back!

These guys are fast and professional! They never upsell me. I highly recommend them.

Came in with a competitor coupon that their website said they would match. Wanted to use Grease Monkey instead of Jiffy Lube to support the local owner. Boy was I disappointed. They wouldnt match the coupon I had & said would cost extra for additional oil so it cost me 37 $. The most i have ever paid to get my oil changed. Plus they didnt look at any of my fluid levels, vacuum, or look at tire pressure because i used a coupon. They also didn’t offer the free carwash like they typically do. Dont know if i will come back here in the future. Ill go somewhere local that wants my business & understands customer service.

Quick oil change service and fee soda. I think they would do a better job of I didn’t use a coupon. I thought the coupon was for a discount on the service. Turns out they just don’t check any fluids or vacuum of car was. Won’t come here again.

They decided to change their pricing up $ 20 from their old pricing. They claim their system has changed and they don’t have their old records. The guy who helped me forgot all about customer service and bashed his competitor down the street. I haven’t tried them because I have always come here. Guess where I am going next time? 3 years of great customer service lost in one day.

Don’t waste your time here. Especially if you’re a woman. This is definitely a place that all the sudden finds things wrong. Plus the tech are rude and disrespectful. Please take my advice and go anywhere else!

I liked this place:
— Free vacuum out of the car
— Free fountain drink and cookie while you wait (both are a little gross, but exceeds expectations)
— Pretty quick service and didn’t try to upsell me too hard on the air filter and other services (he did try to upsell me, but wasn’t obnoxious about it)
— Comfortable and clean lobby area
— Lobby has a play house for the kids and a TV, quite handy if I’ve got little ones with me on an errand
— Only improvement would be the cameras like at Oil Can Henry’s and letting me stay in the car the whole time.

Um, an hour to get a safety and emissions inspections no one else is there when you pull up is completely unacceptable. Four other cars came and went (safety and maybe emissions) before my car was done. I asked the guy ringing me up if there was a problem and he said «no, there wasn’t any problems.» He at least apologized for the wait but it’s still unacceptable. No one, was in front of me when I pulled up. They were all just hanging out in the bay waiting for a customer. Next time I’ll go to Jiffy Lube up the street and try my luck with them. Hopefully I can save 30 – 45 minutes with them.

Fast, super friendly, big clean waiting area with free snacks and play area for kids. These guys make getting an oil change as painless as possible.
