They are now Moralitos, the food is great and service wonderful. Stop by and you will agree! Great food and drinks!

Rancharoes has always been kind of average. Drinks are about the only thing that I would give for stars but since the food is so horrible I’m giving it 2 The chips are something like you get out of the bag and the salsa is just completely bland. They claim now to have new owners and it’s a new restaurant. Well hopefully the owners who taken over this place will read this review. Read this review and do something to make that place decent again. Someone looks like they had the bright idea to make the place lighter inside. Bad idea… It’s already kind of edgy on the inside but bringing more light to it just makes it look old and dumpy. If the food was better the chips and salsa was better I would be inclined to go there again. Are the years it’s just been pretty much the only place to go around Duarte. But for the meantime I am going to make the drive to Pacos for now. Not sure if it’s true but I also heard someone talking about rodents last time I was there??? Which might explain why they were closed down for a while. Come on people and new owners… Something decent??? Change your chips and salsa change up your menu, you need a new cook??? Having my dinner brought to me from a microwave is not appealing… Hoping!

Not Rancheros anymore! Some other place. Went there, ordered some things and a «Large» guacamole. For $ 6.50 you get maybe a handful. Sorry new place, not makin it…

The food is so so. My favorite thing was the plate of chorizo chili dip they give you for free. The was a very nice surprise! I had carnitas tacos — they were ok — my wife had the chicken asada tacos — also ok. Salsa needs to be spicier.

I just learned yesterday after eating here that Ranchero’s last day of business will be Saturday, November 14, 2015. They have changed hands and will now become Morallito Mexican Grill, according to an article from the Duarte chamber of commerce. It will be kind of sad to see Ranchero leave after all these years. The food here is good and the staff treat you like family. I like the fact that it is never too crowded or busy to get a table here and the drinks are good. This place has a very laid back, peaceful atmosphere like an old school family Mexican restaurant. It will be interesting to see if Morallito is as good or better than Ranchero.

I went there on a Friday night for a coworkers birthday with 8 other ladies. I have to write a review only because I was extremely dissapointed at everything. The service was very slow, the margaritas sucked, they were very sour, like if the mix had an old lemon soaking in it with the peel in it. So I reordered and it was the same, horrible, it only tasted like that sour taste n crushed ice. The salsa or its called salsa, it water and Pico de gallo. No taste what so ever. I ordered the shrimp diablo, supposed to be spicy. Haha, it had a red sauce that my mom uses to make enchiladas. And to top it off within half an hour I broke out in hives, because shrimp must of been old. Last, one if the ladies ordered a mudslide and it took them more than half hour to get it. Like 2 different waiters asked if she was waiting for her drink n they would check on it. Seriously it wasn’t super packed, they are just not organized. I would not recommend to anyone who is thinking of trying this place for any reason. And let me say I use to come here back when I lived in Duarte back in 1996. So maybe it’s different management, but I’m not wasting my time coming back or telling you its good… :-(

Years ago I used to have dinner with the First Friday club here at Rancheros. I remember that the waitstaff were exceptional and the food delicious. Fast forward about 10 years and I’m meeting a college friend for lunch. There weren’t many patrons, sad to say but the service was attentive and as friendly as I remember. My friend had filled up on chips and salsa while waiting for me(I was sitting in the parking lot waiting for her) so she didn’t order a meal. I had the chicken mole burrito. Ranchero’s is the only place I have mole. It’s delicious. I’ve tried it elsewhere but no where else compares to Ranchero’s. The burrito filled me up and the only thing missing was a margarita. Although a bit of a drive for Mexican food, I hope to take some friends since it’s so good.

This place has the best shredded beef enchiladas and refried beans. Their prices are reasonable. I usually buy the food to go.

Not equipped for a large group for sure. Here for a birthday party, 37 minutes in and still no high chair, drink order or menu. You know what? Probably not even worth a review. Good luck!

Don’t come here, unless you want to be ignored and forgotten. We could have walked out without paying. Wait staff were over whelmed and could not handle a planned party of 30. Bordered on rude but I can imaging how stressed they were. The cheese enchiladas were good, but how do you mess up taquitos?

I Give one star based on pricing. I used to love coming here for the hometown feel where everyone knows your name. Unfortunately today I got a little sticker shock. My husband and I came in for two drinks(nothing fancy) a side of guacamole(equivalent to half an avocado) and a side of beans the tab total was $ 40! And it’s allegedly happy hour. Paco’s in Arcadia would’ve been half that price

GREAT service but the food unfortunately, did not match. Both mine and my wife’s food was very bland. Have people not heard of spices? Salt, pepper, garlic? They work wonders.

I lived in Duarte a few years back, and we often found ourselves here on the business end of a michelada picante, eating copious amounts of chips and salsa before our entrees were brought to the table. Rancheros is one of those fun little neighborhood restaurants where the food is sloppy, huge, and tasty… Sauces, beans, and rice all sort of run together, but no one seems to mind. A good selection of a la carte items, combinaciones, salads, beverages, and even some traditional desserts round out the menu. Spicy available upon request… Ask for some grilled jalapeños and onions for some extra zing. Featuring a full bar, a dimly lit ambiance, a heady blend of family and traditional décor(with some black and white historical photos), and genuine, kind wait staff, Ranchero is great to watch an early season ball game, or to take the kids on a Friday night without fear of offending the 20-something dating set. Parking on the street or in the lot out back. For the daring, check out the biker bar across the street… Or better yet, the liquor store on the corner of Huntington and Buena Vista.

We love this place! It’s low key, plenty of parking, great price, and friendly people working! The Margaritas are kickin’, and the food it pretty good. Since moving to the area last summer, Ranchero has become my family’s favorite for Mexican.

I stopped in here with my son this week. It was very standard. Do you want a little taste your food taste a little bit more like home cooking try down the street at Cabrera’s. The service was nice, but the beans were pretty tasteless as was the rice and as were the enchiladas. I probably won’t be going back here. It was my first time but I think I saw enough.

We were the first group here today. Wanted a Mexican breakfast and michelada! They’re sooo nice here! Food was great! My friend didn’t like the sauce on her enchilada she thought it was too lemony. However my fish plate was delicious! I’ll be back again!

Went in on a whim, the GF was Jones’ing some Mole, so here we landed. Their mole sauce is pretty solid. As close to your mama’s as most restaurants are going to get, a little spice to it but not real spicy. Carnita’s were ok, not overwhelming with flavors, but not too bad. I found their beans to be very bland. Nothing too much to them. All in all is an OK restaurant if you are in the neighborhood and are craving Mexican. Inside interior is very very old school !

Some colleagues and I visited this restaurant for lunch after a meeting. We were a bit hesitant at first, as the place was fairly empty, a bit dark on the inside, and the décor was pretty shabby. Despite that, we decided to go ahead and order. The service was pretty good, as our drinks were kept full and our order was taken somewhat promptly. The food was pretty good, however it was nothing special. The portions were a good size. The food was good, but the flavors were somewhat bland. Overall if you want a standard Mexican food lunch, this will fill you up. It’s not a bad choice.

Since it’s close to work, this a place my co-workers often frequent for a quick happy drink after work before we head off our separate ways. The drinks are strong, the beer is covered in happy hour. Chips are good. Nice and thick and authentic looking. The salsa is bland though, and I often add my own sea salt. Yes, I carry some in my purse. The atmosphere is dim and there are plenty of booths and tables or you can sit at the strange bar that is low at table level. The well vodka has a weird taste, though. Get a good vodka.
