First time trying this place and I ordered beef taquitos with rice n beans, it came with a sopa de fideo. My co worker ordered a hard shell taco with rice n beans. Our food was super delicious. It really is Mexican food. The waiters are very friendly. They brought our food to us right away. The interior is nice and seats are very comfortable. I will definitely be coming back.

I’m in love with this place! We’ve only been a few times but from the chips and salsa at the beginning of the meal all the way to the leftovers it’s fabulous! Tonight I discovered the Margarita Diabla and it was Amazing! As for my choice in meals, #5 continues to be my only choice and the dinner salad with blue cheese is a must.

Some of these people reviewing make you wonder if they are getting paid by another restaurant for negative reviews? Look I’ve been going to this place for a long time. Back when it was rancheros. I can honestly say the food here is delicious. I have had a few things on the menu and have found the food and service to be excellent.

Disappointed, I’ve gone twice doubt I’ll go back a third time. Too many other better options for Mexican food and drinks in the area

Food is ok. I came here twice this week. Once for my lil cousins grad and 2nd cuz my cousin got a certificate here for his grad gift. Let me start by saying the service here is terrible !!! The lady«yolanda» is soooo so so rude !!! First experience was alright because it was a group now it’s just a party of 3 and I asked for her name she gave me a dirty look and told me her name. She slammed our drinks on the table. And I’m not being dramatic. She really really made my experience here so bad I came on here to post it. I’m going to make a complaint to the manager AFTER I get my food because I’m scared something might happen to my food. The food is okay. Would eat it again but not super yummy and the salsa is on point. However there was a gentleman by the name of Jorge he is so blessed! I recommend him helping u. There is also a tall skinny guy who is balding lol he looks like he hates his job. I give 2 stars only cuz of Jorge:)))))

First time today since they changed ownership and nothing has changed. As soon as you walk in you smell chemicals, that can be looked at as pro and con. The service was slow unless you were sitting at the bar. We were the only table guests to be served and it took over 20 min. for the waiter to take our order. The food lacked flavor and the rice tasted like seafood(I didn’t order any seafood). Guests slowly trickled in and waiters popped out of no where. The table guest behind us complained about the food as well and they ordered a salad. They complained about something tasting like seafood as well. I’m sorry, just go to Max’s up the street.

Had lunch with spouse on a Thursday. Interesting retro-building(I liked it), ample parking, inside a bit choppy(like the old days) could have benefited from a complete gut and rebuild inside. anyhooo… only had beers — points for having 805 on tap, spouse had Montejo served in a chilled glass with salt rim & lime. Yowsa! It was delicious Salsa: two kinds placed on table. a Red sauce that was just right spicy and good. Then another which I think was supposed to be pico de gallo; but was very watery and tasted like eating chopped tomatoes out of a can — no spice to it at all. Even East Coast white people would have found it bland. Spouse had huge burrito lunch special but found it to be lacking flavor. We went through two of those red salsa bowls to trying punch it up a bit. I had Carnitas Tacos … and the s on Tacos on the menu must be an affectation; because it is ONE taco, not plural. The meat was overcooked, or old or both. Perhaps the cook put salt on the meat; but that was the only flavor. The lack of any meaningful flavor in either dish was very disappointing. I saw other reviews mention lack of flavor… unfortunately its too true.

Machaca turns out to be ground beef in some bland sauce on the tostada. The salsa was OK but pretty bland. Margarita had alcohol but once again bland. Not sure if they think everyone in Duarte is from the Midwest but some kind of spice somewhere in the meal would have been appreciated. The service was excellent, was approached by many of the wait staff to make sure I had what I needed. Once again I just wish there had been some flavor, I rarely use salt in a restaurant but this was an exception.

This place has an awesomely unique bar, right out of the 60s/70s. It felt like an episode of the Brady bunch in a delightful way. They have the best margaritas in the area — strong and tasty, with minimal sugary sweet and sour mix. The bartender was tentative and made sure I was taken care of. Ordered the chile relleno and taco combo and it was excellent. This is in my opinion the best Mexican restaurant in the Monrovia/Arcadia/Duarte area — try the margarita!

Came here for Cinco de Mayo just before the rush. I enjoyed their guacamole and salsa quite a bit. They have a full bar and margaritas, of course, though the margaritas weren’t my favorite. Out of all of them the prickly pear might have been worth getting. I had the fajitas as my meal. A decent portion for the meat, but i could have used more guac and tortillas. Overall this place is decently priced, has good food and is a good choice when nearby places had too long of a wait. I will say service was kinda slow, but that I’ll chalk up to Cinco de Mayo craziness. Stay Cheerful ;)

My husband and I tried Morralitos for the first time Sunday and we loved it! The food was amazing and so was the service. Not to mention the margaritas were delicious! My husbands a vegetarian so they made him potato tacos(not on the menu) and I ordered the chicken and steak fajitas! Everything was so good and the green salsa was Found our New Mexican spot! We will definitely be going back!!!

Let me start off by saying the service is excellent. All the servers were very attentive and kind. The food on the other hand is a different story. I ordered chicken tortilla soup and my husband ordered carne casda tacos. The soup was drowning with tortilla strips, chicken had a bad flavor and was overall not good. I am not a picky eater, so for me to complain it had to be bad. My husband said his entire meal had no flavor. From the beans to the tacos. He kept adding salsa to give it flavor. Also the wait for the food was ridiculous. I think we waited at least 20 minutes. It is probably why they kept filling our chip basket.

I waited a while to write a review on this place. The first time we went to Morralito it had just changed ownership so service and food quality was still in the works. A few months have passed now and I’m happy to report this place is excellent. The new owners are touching up this place very nicely. New paint including on the exterior and will be renovating the bar area soon… if not already. The food is delicious, very authentic and flavorful. My son hates mexican food with a passion but he doesn’t mind coming to Morralito and that alone says a lot about this place. Margaritas are very good as well, not sure if as strong as before but still kick you in the rear after one or two depending on the person :-). Chips and Salsa are much better, more flavorful and fresh. Over all we love this place and look forward to all the renovation. That will make everyone’s dining experience more enjoyable. For now its a 4 stars until the bartender cheers up a bit and doesnt look so grumpy all the time. Cheers!

I’m strictly reviewing the food because I did not eat at the restaurant, I got it to go. We got a machaca burrito and a side order of chips and salsa. Before ordering from here I looked at the reviews and saw the not so good ones but decided to give it a try anyways, I should have believed them. The salsa had no flavor other than onion, and all the ingredients were chopped really big. The meat in the burrito was very bland and I thought there was no cheese in it until the I had a mouthful of unmelted cheese. The food wasn’t bad just very bland. I wouldn’t order again.

It’s a local lunch spot. Service is good, but the food was just ok. I’m sure it’s comfort food for the locals. But for us out of towners, we’d like a little more.

Way better than Ranchero’s could ever hope to be. Food is for sure better than Max’s. Hopefully this place catches on, so the bar can be more poppin’. I ordered the deluxe Michelada… amazing. It’s a full meal in itself. It is like a fruit and shrimp cocktail mixed with a Michelada. The food is more authentic than before, for people who actually go to Mexico, and know Mexican food.

Formerly Ranchero, don’t let the name change fool you… it’s the same building, the same décor, the same terrific wait staff. Only the menu has changed. And from what I experienced, it’s for the better. I’ve mentioned that this is the only place I order a chicken mole burrito. Now the mole sauce has a spicy kick to it. It’s good. I should have had a margarita though. Because those are good too.

This review will be a temporary review on Morralito. This is the name of the former staple Duarte mexican restaurant. The old restaurant closed at the end of business on a Saturday and the new owners opened on Sunday. At the time of this writing the business sign still has the Ranchero logo. Morralito is waiting for city approval of their own sign. Our family was long-time regulars at The Ranch. The owners have worked in the restaurant industry for quite some time. Regulars at the old business may notice very minor changes at the time of this review. Though they are using the same menu, Morralito is using many of their own recipes. A new salsa is served with the chips. The chili verde is a totally new recipe and quite tasty. I am told the carnitas are also different and improved. Service was quick and friendly. I am waiting for more time to pass, perhaps 2 — 3months, and allow Morralito Grill to become its own entity and then I will update this review.
