Children’s Healthcare Of Atlanta

ABSOLUETELY NO STARS !!! Extremely unsatisfied with the unnecessary care my girls were given. On a previous visit or two, they took my 9 month old daughters temperature with an inner ear thermometer. The result of that visit, no ear infection, Just a cold. A follow-​up visit to the regular pediatrician proved that was a lie.
During my second daughter’s visit they use a rectal thermometer and said «Oh, we have always used rectal thermometers. «
I had made the appointment for both of my daughters. The 9 month old was now 20 months and had had frequent ear infections while my 4 month old had never been sick.
The doctor asked too many questions about the people living in my home rather than questions about my daughters issues. She checked my baby’s ears and said that she didn’t see an ear infection and that it could be a bladder infection in the 4 month old. When I asked how would they check for that, She said they would have to insert a catheter in my 4 month old daughters vagina…
Two nurses immediately came in and began wrestling my 4 month old daughter down on the bed. I demanded they stop. I asked the doctor, «if she had a bladder infection won’t you just give her antibiotics?» She said yes, but if it’s not a bladder infection, the antibiotics won’t work.» I told her, «she can go see her regular pediatrician on Monday. Just give her an antibiotic and we’ll monitor her. «
Upon visiting her regular pediatrician, it was confirmed that my daughters had had an ear infection. Further more the pediatrician informed me that they would have just had my daughter wear some sterile underwear to collect urine and test it.
Lastly, about a month after the worst visit, I receive a bill for $~1500 (750 per child). When I spoke to someone at the facility, they informed me that while the hospital is listed as an in-​network facility, only specific doctors were covered by my insurance.
Long story short, this place is a gimmick. It’s nothing but a group of med school rejects who play dress up while you child lacks medical care and you empty your wallet for your child’s misery. I do not recommend this place and would advise anyone to visit the ER if it’s a life or death situation or just wait on your pediatrician to open.

Long wait just for a nurse to look at my kid for 1 minute. Then they charged my insurance $ 635! It’s no wonder the healthcare system is in shambles. BCBS declined about $ 410 of it (they should’ve declined even more), which left $ 150 that BCBS paid, and $ 50 that I paid for my copay. *Then* they sent me another bill for $ 25 more dollars, 3 months after the fact. All they did was weigh my child, then move her arm for like 2 seconds! Nothing else was done! Is a doctor at this place’s rate $ 635/​minute? I don’t think Johnnie Cochran’s rate was that high after getting OJ off.
This would be like me trying to charge $ 635 for shaking your hand. Cannot recommend then. Highway robbery would’ve felt better.
I’m still in shock that they had the audacity to send me this bill. Honestly, even billing me at all was insulting. They should’ve just called it a day as a common courtesy.

i thought this was urgent care cuz none of these kids are in pain???
been sitting for almost 2 hours with my 14 month old running a fever & i’m still waiting as i type …
i really don’t recommend this place for parents who truly has a sick child.
update: finally got called to the nurses station … checked his temp & indeed it’s 104 !!! drumroll … the nurses are rude !
excuse me i have a sick child have some respect! then they sent us to wait some more!

Best time to go is right when they open, otherwise, you’d have at least a 2hr+ wait. But seeing the doctor takes only about 5 – 20 minutes.
The staff is pretty friendly. You sign in at the front desk when you walk in. Then you have a seat and wait to be called for registration. The waiting time to see the nurse usually takes a while. On one visit, we waited 8 hours to be called in. Then only waited 5 minutes to see the doctor. So now, I try to go as early as possible. Even early, I still have to wait about 2 hours.

It’s convenient for when my pediatrician is booked. And other than the ridiculously long waiting period, I don’t have any problems with coming here.

This is obviously an urgent care facility so a long wait was expected. It’s better than an ER, which usually about a couple of hours or so, depending on your situation. We got seen after about an hour-​ish. That was fine. What I love about this place is the friendliness of the staff. The whole welcoming ambiance. That’s a nice thing if you got a sick kiddo who’s already terrified going to the doc. In the waiting area, they have coffee and tea machines with several flavors to satisfy your taste. And they’re free. I guess to compensate for the long waits lol. But again, that’s expected at urgent care. The facility is clean and their equipment looks modern. The front desk, nurses and doctors were very pleasant. I love love doctors and nurses who sincerely show (even if they’re just acting) and make an effort to make a child smile and be relaxed. Big plus.

I love this place! I went in about 30 mins before closing on a Wednesday night. They saw him right away and everybody there were all sweet and caring. My best experience of an Urgent care.

3 stars is for Urgent Care
Took me 7.5 hours just to see a doctor and that only took about 30 min. all together. So it was the most agonizing wait ever. However, the nurses and doctors were very nice and pleasant so it definitely help ease the tension.
The sand table needs to be sanitize after every use or every 30 minutes because that’s where all the germs are formed and passed around. It’s quite disgusting because sick kids are wiping their nose and then touching the magnet. I even saw a teenage prop his sockless foot on a kid’s chair. Let me tell you, my blood was boiling! The mother was not even bothered by it.
Anyways, just be prepared to wait for a very long enough in this area. They do have a nifty coffee/​tea/​water machine and it’s free! Their’s also a snack/​drink machine.
P. S. Their bathroom is pretty clean, definitely a good thing.
