Oh, man, that was the best dinner I’ve had in ages. Started with garlic mussels, very garlicky, sweet and slightly spicy with garlic bread, accompanied by a side Caesar salad. The dressing was delicious. The waitress, who was amiable and checked consistently to see if we needed anything, told me she thought it was a Heinz brand, which I found hard to believe because the flavor was exceptional. My entrée was the Lobster Daddy with cajun seasoning, a generous pot of Maine lobster, Snow crab, new potatoes and a large, gorgeous ear of deliciously sweet corn with plenty of garlic. I was impressed with the whole meal and felt that the cost was well worth it. This will be one of my reguar haunts. The food wasn’t seeping in fat, was low in calories and seasoned perfectly. I can’t wait to go back.

All you can eat crabs on Wednesdays would be great if you actually got more than one half cluster every half hour. After two hours we are going to pay our $ 30 each and stop at fast food on the way home to actually get full.

I wish I can give them 0 star if I can, literally the worst place I have ever been, food is over priced, for 20+dollars you will only get a few crab legs and tons of potatoes and corns, my friends and I total 4 people, went to here ends up spend around 90 dollars with the food that’s not enough for even 2 people, the amount of the food for 20 dollars per person is way to small, we ends up eating burgers at Burger King. Huge disappointment, highly not recommended, avoid this place at all cost

Came here for lunch Feb 22, 2016. The server was very nice, I’m disappointed because they were out of sweet tea, fries, and crab dip. Not sure what else. All three is what I was wanting. She told me the manager doesn’t know how to order and the truck was coming late. How do u run out of food. I feel sorry for the servers having to tell the customers they are out of food, while the managers hide in the back. Poor planning on management.

I’m giving it 2 starts because the food was decent but the place was disgusting. I’m pretty embarrassed that I picked the place to eat that night.

Unfortunately I have to write this update because of a recent illness and subsequent major surgery I have to be very careful on where I eat out and health scores are now more important to me than ever. The reason I haven’t been back here is because of there fairly low health score of 86 late last year. I wrote it off as a one time thing but decided not to go back anyway until it was at least a 90. I’m sad to say their health score has dropped dropped again to an 81 with many violations being not storing food at proper temperatures, not cleaning food thermometers and even more disgusting. ROACHES! The most recent health score also mentions these are repeat violations and they are now at risk of a permit suspension. I know this isn’t the waiters/waitresses fault, but behind the scenes something obviously needs to be corrected. I really hope this location gets its act together but for me I won’t be returning here anytime in the foreseeable future. Eat at your own risk. If you have a compromised immune system then I would say avoid all together. This is so sad as this used to be my favorite place to eat.

As soon as you walk in you are very pleased! A very relaxed sort of setting with a lot going on. If you are looking for quiet this might not be the place for you. The menu options are vast and seem awesome! However, just order an appetizer of the calamari and you will realize really quickly how much of a disappointment Joe’s is… The worst part I wanted this place to be good I really did. The artichoke dip was good, the fries were good, everything else we order not so much! I wouldn’t waste my time here. Maybe with new management or cook staff things would be different. Excellent waiting staff no complaints there.

Went to joes with some Colleagues for lunch. The crab dip was tasty. Service was good. I ordered fish tacos which were good. Nothing special about this visit but overall I was satisfied. Price seemed a bit high for fish tacos.

This was my families first time visiting this location. We’re new to the area. Great family feel atmosphere. Our host and servers was very nice. They were very knowledgeable of the menu. The manager on duty came out and greeted us and made us feel welcomed. I loved the lighting. We ordered our food and it was out in a timely manner. It was delicious. We will definitely be back.

Sat down at about 8 o’clock and had to speak to a manager almost 30mins later because we weren’t even greeted until my boyfriend had to get the hostess to get the manager! The manager Anyssa, came over right away and was great! For a Friday night, the restaurant was not even busy at all. We rated 2 stars because of the manager and the waitress the manager had take of us Ahliyah were awesome! Would only come back because of them.

Yeah so I saw a rat run across the floor just as I was about to order. Not a mouse. A RAT! So yeah, gross! The manager wasn’t phased… Just wanted to know where it went. Haha! Avoid this place like the plague, which you may get by eating here.

10/25/2015 Von manager on duty, well he was the one we dealt with. 530pm til 6ish Food was good, waitress was nice, she tried her best to make things right. Aliyah Von however was rude. There was a sign on the table that we seen after being seated. Then asked the waitress who was polite to ask the manager seems how this was on our table and seeing it after being seated if he would honor it. She asked then came back and was going to tell us he said it’s only for the bar, Then he said so if you want to move to the bar you can. I said I didn’t want to take the waitresses buisness from her. That we would stay here. It’s not the answer of being no, it’s how he aggressively approached us about it. Just my thought the sign should be moved from the tables as most restaurants do. Every restaurant I’ve ever been to that has bar specials make them known at the bar not the tables. Hence … bar specials! I will say, reading some of the other horrible ratings on here about this place, no wonder the servers have issues, working for someone as rude as this manager, someone who has NO customer service skills what so ever, what else should we expect. I think coporate needs to look into this issue. It makes Joe’s crab shack look bad. My Ratings… Service from waitress. 9 Food…8 Cleanliness… 3 Enviroment…3 Manager Von… would easily be a negative 10.

We went out to eat for dinner tonight at this location. This is a rare occurrence for our family, as it’s expensive and we have four food allergies; milk, fish, soy and peanuts. 8:00p we arrive. We’re seated immediately. It’s moderately busy for a Saturday night. I witnessed an average of 4 – 5 tables for every waitress. Most tables are done eating and preparing to depart. Plenty of seating is available. 8:16p a waitress provides us menus and takes our drink order; two beers and two kid liquids. We ask for crackers. 8:45p our drinks arrive. We ask for crackers. That’s a 25 min wait for drinks. We’re thirsty, and the Chick-Fil-A across the road is lookin’ mighty tempting at this point. 8:58p 2nd waitress arrives and says our 1st waitress is busy, she offers to take our order. I ask about peanut oil in deep fryer. She has no idea and departs to ask the kitchen. 9:10p 1st waitress returns. Apologies about 2nd waitress not returning and makes her excuses. Takes our order. We ask for crackers. Ask for water and another round of beers. We’ve been here over an hour now and have two hungry kids — we need some crackers. PLEASE. 9:18p we obtain 1st waitress’s attention, ask for crackers. I ask her if she’s okay. She shows me her two children on her iPhone. I ask if everything is okay backstage and mention she looks concerned. I’ve had a lot of waiting & bar-tending experience and genuinely reach out to her. All is well, she exclaims, but the kitchen staff is going through«some changes». She further explains that orders have been coming out wrong and she wants to help prevent that part. 9:37p crackers arrive via a 3rd waitress; thrown on table. Beers have been sitting at the bar 20 ft away for 10 min. 1st waitress is gabbing with bartender. 9:40p a new couple is seated in the booth behind us. 9:44p the couple is served drinks. 9:52p the couple is served an appetizer. 9:58p our food is delivered to our table. Well, sort of. Only two entrees, mine and the youngest child’s. My order has the wrong side dishes. I don’t protest(sending food back to the kitchen is akin to asking for a vomit fest later). Instead, I ask for our beers and drink refills, which are still sitting at the bar. My child’s food consists of three hunks of batter(I think there’s fish in it, but I can’t really tell) and cold, greasy fries. He refuses to eat any of it. Good call, buddy. My erroneously served corn is way overdone, and the potatoes are half-cooked. But I’m actually thankful that I didn’t get my order of hushpuppies and cold, greasy fries at this point. Maybe. At least the shrimp were de-veined. 10:00p the couple behind us is served their entrees. They look so happy. I wish I were happy. I’m close to crying at this point. 10:06p beer and drink refills arrive. Two additional entrees arrive. Both have the wrong side dishes. My husband’s lobster is green throughout the entire tail(um, it’s poop). It’s also very overcooked, like rubber. Nearly half of all his crab legs are empty. Half of all my son’s clams are empty. We have invisible food! Someone here is a damn magician. An evil one. **The overhead music is turned up very loud(we know this trick — empties the dining room faster). A disco light is turned on. My youngest child proceeds to dance on the booth. I’m not caring at this point. It’s late and we’re rushing through this meal.*** 10:15p 4th waitress arrives with her child in tow. She offers to seat our youngest with hers at a table near us and provide fresh fruit(after we decline a rice crispy treat — he’s allergic to soy). This is strange. Is she doing us a favor? Are we doing her a favor? I’m confused. I’ve stopped eating. 10:24p our youngest child is now running circles around the table with the 4th waitress’s child. Plastic sharks are all the rage. The couple behind us is provided a check and departs. We are now babysitting another child. He likes Michael Jackson — he tells us this several times. Where is mom? 10:32p my oldest child seeks out the 1st waitress to obtain our check. We haven’t laid eyes on her since the food was served. Oh wait! There she goes… to check on another table. 10:37p my oldest child returns with a processed check. We stand to depart after bussing our own table. 1st waitress immediately picks up the tip-addressed check before we manage to leave. Oh no she didn’t! Yes hunny, that measly 10% reflects your service. Smile, wink, frown. 10:40p 4th waitress has sent her child to «shake hands» with our youngest child in the parking lot. My oldest child walks her child to the restaurant door. He wonders if he should ask for a reward or something. $ 135.44 later, we’re sitting in our car in the parking lot, laughing about this insane experience. My youngest child claims he is hungry. Welcome to the Twilight Zone Shack, where you’re told that you’ve eaten food and had a good time… you haven’t. Not at this place. Lesson learned.

This is not necessary my favorite seafood place but it’s not bad. Their drinks are decent and their seafood pots have been consistently good. I’m beginning to prefer this spot over Bahama Breeze.

I have passed by this place many times but never really cared to stop by and check it out, until recently. A friend of mine and I wanted to have seafood for dinner the other night and I thought we should give this place a try. I’ve actually never had real crab in my life(it’s simply not part of my regular diet and my culture isn’t seafood oriented). It was definitely an experience. We had some good laughs about the silly bibs and the interesting utensils. For my drink I had a margarita served in a mason jar. It was decent, not overly alcoholic(I’m trying to have dinner, not get drunk). We ordered the double dip for the appetizer. It’s actually two dishes. One is the crab dip and the other is the artichoke and spinach dip which are served with chips. The dips were really good! I especially liked the crab dip. For our main meal, we ordered the Joe’s Classic Steampot for 2 which comes with 2 large queen crabs, 2 sweet snow crabs, lots of shrimp, 2 smoked sausages, 2 corn on the cob, and plenty of potatoes. It was definitely more than enough for the two of us, but it was delicious! The crabs were well seasoned and the corn on the cob was good, too. This location also has a very large outdoor playground for the kids. I got to keep the mason jar. Who doesn’t like mason jars?

Ever since Joe’s closed their location at North Point Mall, I was pissed. It was close to home, and always busy. But they got evicted– which I found to be complete horse crap. So my fix for huge buckets of crab had been shattered. Since living in MEM, I have not found crab like I am used to seeing(maybe I just have not looked hard enough) — so when I went back to ATL on my last visit, I was jonesin for crab like it was going out of style. So it was my mom, my sis, her sons, and myself. It was empty that night, and I couldn’t realize why. When we sat down, maybe the baby that sat next to us with the ear piercing shrieks emptied the place. Who cares, I just wanted some crab. When viewing the menu here, everything looks mouth watering. I mean everything. If I had 2 hollow legs and $ 1000, I would have probably gotten one of each steampot. But I ended up sticking to the Rajun Cajun Steampot– which consisted of crab, shrimp, sausage, and potatoes. After my bib was put on, my mouth was watering. From the pictures on the menu– it looked amazing. And when I got my steampot, I almost cried. It looked nothing like in the picture! What a tease! So one thing I have learned about Joe’s– they do some awesome marketing, unfortunately, they can’t come close to matching what it looks like in the pictures, which to me, is a shame. I still ate it all. Then I shared dessert with my mom. We got a smore’s brownie. It was pretty yum! All in all, if you want decent drinks, come here. However, don’t expect a leaning tower of crab or anything. Seems like this place has taken a hit over the years…
