Solid food and typical korean service(where you call the servers if you need anything) Ordered the sul lung tang– the consistency was perfect. I enjoyed the broth– the soup was very flavorful with my desired amount of salt.(The key to enjoying this soup is adding salt!) I personally prefer rice noodles and they served the soup with cellophane noodles. The meat was a bit fatty but not too chewy. They have decent banchan– the radish kimchee is perfect– crunchy, salty and bright. I was not a fan of the cabbage kimchee– too sour. FYI– they serve the banchan with the food so don’t expect it right away. Nice décor and friendly service :)

I ordered the yukgaejang(spicy beef and vegetable soup). I’d say it was delicious but not as delicious as the one I had over at this one restaurant that recently closed down(out of business). Yukgaejang«Spicy Beef and Vegetable Soup» —($ 8.99) They didn’t have a special for the soup I ordered during the weekends. I came on a Friday/Saturday(I’m not sure). The service was good. The friendliness of the waitress was good. But the owner of the restaurant. her attitude stunk. She wasn’t very friendly to my mom(that I did not like). She should be grateful that we decided to eat at her restaurant. The only downside to eating the yukgaejang was that it had no GOSARI which is this plant called fernbrake. That is the main vegetable that’s suppose to be in the soup! Ohhh was I disappointed. but still enjoyed my soup. The banchan was an ok selection. I only liked the stir-fried bean sprouts, Korean squash(banchan) and the radish kimchi. I’ll only come here, again, for the lunch specials. I don’t ever want to pay the original price if they don’t even have any gosari in the yukgaejang!

Good food but disappointed. I had the cold noodle soup and Kalbi combo, both were very good but they only brought me 2 banchans. I had to ask for kimchi. Perhaps(no, I’m sure) it’s because I’m not Asian and I was there alone but 2 only? Really??? I’m in a Korean restaurant so treat me like any other client of yours. I can get just as good(maybe better) Kalbi at Jang Su Jang on Satellite and there I’ll get 8 Banchans.

Great lunch special, awesome soup and good price! It’s kind of a deal when you can order $ 8.99 for a dish for dinner in a Korean restaurant! I came in at late Saturday night. Maybe the owner greeted me and seated me because no other waitress was available. I was a little surprised by the price, dishes are mostly $ 10 around. Unfortunately, ginseng chicken soup is only for summer, so I ordered fresh cod maetang(?). They presented banchan and rice first, as always. Purple rice, a little rare these days since food price goes up. The owner also came by, saying I need to take it slow to save room for the entrée. Then the cod soup. SPICY, and delicious. I had to eat it so slow to handle the heat. But that was the fun part. The variety of banchan is not so much, and cod is not that soft and fresh. I even asked them if it is frozen. They said no. Overall, I would recommend this one.

I came here with friends for dinner on a weekday. I was really in the mood for bibimpap so I knew I was the right place. It’s a casual environment but more on the expensive side. I ordered the beef bibimpap which came with bulgogi, veggies(pickled & fresh), and rice in a hot pot(which means the rice will continue to cook so it becomes a little crispy at the bottom). It also came with a bunch of different sides like tofu, Korean potatoes, kimchi, etc. I personally thought it could have used a touch more salt but other than that, I really liked it. It satisfied my craving. My only issue was the waitress who started helping us. I asked her which item was the bibimpap since I didn’t see it right away but she did not seem to understand anything I was saying. I proceeded to describe what it should consist of but that didn’t help… she just pointed to various items and pictures on the menu. This was a bit frustrating but I finally saw bibimpap on the menu & I ordered it. I wouldn’t mind coming back just for the food unless I found a better place with someone who could actually take my order!

There lunch menu is absolutely good deal for that price. You get two entrée 1 from the soup side and the other from the dish side for 8 bucks. Also comes with 5 to 6 small dishes. They also have Whole Chicken with noodle soup. Its very thick and rich flavor. I sometime don’t like chicken soup because of the after taste but they absolutely got rid of all the after taste. Whole Chicken with Noodle soup(Dak Han Ma Ri Kal Gook SOO) is very good.

Their lunch special is such a great deal, $ 8.99 for a dish + soup, and up to 6 or 7 side dishes that vary daily. They call it their A + B lunch meal, and it’s served from 11am to 3pm. Dishes include Baked Mackerel, Baked Pike Mackerel, Bulgogi, Pork Bulgogi. Soups include Sulungtang(bone marrow soup), kimchi stew, bean paste stew, some kind of mandu soup. This is probably the most filling and healthiest lunch deal around :) The food is all very well done, pretty standard fare, but the taste is very good/homely and the soups are flavorful without being too salty/over seasoned. The side dishes change everyday and are unlimited :) They also serve mixed purple(black) rice, which is a plus in my book.

On average, this place is okay since its 5min from my house and beats driving to pleasant hill. Soondobu,(soft tofu soup), was not their best specialty. I prefer Tofu Kitchen for that. The fish included in lunch was delish. Actually grilled than fried like other places. Ban chan was meh, I tasted better at other locations. Atmosphere, cozy but dark. Menu is partially in Korean but I saw Americans inside without a a korean«guide». Lunch is the best time to go because it’s cheap, under $ 9. This place is good if you live close to the establishment.

Love restaurants that have lunch specials during weekends too — at Seoul Shin Jung, they’re just $ 6.99 to $ 7.99. We came on a Sunday and it was like hitting jackpot :) Space is nice, service is friendly, and banchan selection(8) was good and fresh. They also have awesome lunch combos but those are only available Mon-Fri, and they’re $ 7.49. You pick one of the soups or jigae’s in «A», PLUS one of the entrees in «B». Examples of «A» include sul-lang-tang, kimchi jigae, den jang jigae, mandu guk, yuk geh jang, soon dubu, dah roo gub bap. Examples of «B» include bulgogi, daeji bulgogi, chicken bulgogi, broiled mackeral, gongchi gui, etc. They also have a $ 14.99 lunch combo which is the ssam bap incl. 13 different veggies and bulgogi. I haven’t tried any of the combos yet but from the other reviews, sounds like the food AND the deal are very good. O JINGUHBOKKUM — $ 7.99(lunch special) Nice size squid pieces(except some were chewy), generous portion and very good. Also loved that it had dduk(rice cake) too but also a lot of shredded cabbage — at least cabbage is good for you :) Also came with soup which was good too. SOONDUBU — $ 6.99(lunch special) Dad ordered«very spicy» and true to their word, it was very spicy — almost too spicy but very good. Also nice size tofu. BIBIMBOP — $ 6.99(lunch special) Standard bibimbop — nothing special but it was good and also came with a side of soup. Note it does come topped with a raw egg so if you don’t like that, make sure you let them know when you order. Overall good Korean food. I’d definitely like to come back and try the A/B lunch combos. I do want to mention just one downside — there was a small group of men just outside the restaurant smoking and every time someone opened the door, the cigarette smell would seep in. What was disappointing was I think they either own or manage the restaurant b/c they were going to the back a lot. FYI — they’re located in the same shopping center as Oh! My SamGyupSal and White Windmill Bakery.

Great lunch prices of less than $ 8 and you pick 2 items! One is a soup with some meat and veg and the other is a meat item. You get around 5 – 6 small dishes also. I went with my mom and 2 kids and ordered 2 lunch specials which consisted of 4 items. It was enough for all of us. Everything tasted great! Only down side was that no one there speaks English! Good thing the menu had pictures. I asked for the tofu soup to be mild but it came spicy. My kids couldn’t eat too much of it.

I really like the bibimbap with the pork and kimchi. It is my favorite out of all the other places that I have tried. The banchan is solid and whenever I’m in Duluth I will prolly stop here.

Having read through all the reviews, I was really in the mood to try this place. It seemed like they were different from other restaurants in the area. We were party of 5 arriving around 7PM for dinner. It was pretty packed and there was even a banquet room on the side with karaōke system for the rock stars among us. We sat by the left corner and decided to order. Really old man showed up and tried to take our order. After we ordered our food he said, «Can you repeat that again? My memory is going.» OMG. I did not know whether to feel bad for him or that I should be upset that I have to repeat everything again. We waited about good 20 minutes and still no food. They only had one server working and the old man was helping apparently. He might have been the owner. When the food came out, we realized that he did not give us any choice in terms of what meat to order for the Ssam Bop. He just ordered on our behalf without consulting us. Food Quality: Ssam Bop(great soupy bulgogi — if you are not sure, this is the one that has the soup around the bbq grill; plenty of vegetables; but their tofu soup is mirky, mild and tasteless so don’t recommend that at all) Agoojjim(bean sprouts were not cooked enough and still too raw; the monk fish was still cold; too much red pepper flakes; not flavorful at all) Side Dishes(decent but noting spectacular) I am not sure if I would frequent this place. I don’t think it’s a terrible restaurant. It is just not my cup of tea right now.

Definitely my place for Korean food. Friendly staff and owners! The food is fresh and this place has good side dishes. They take their time making food and not rushing it. For the price you pay you get great food. Some places charge more than this and the food is definitely not as good. I’m a regular here and plan to keep coming in!

There are a lot of choices for Korean food in Duluth/Doraville… But this place is by far the best. The 1:1 lunch special is my favorite — a large soup and an entrée for under $ 8. I course the tea and side dishes are also included. The flavors are incredibly delicious and I always feel good after eating the food. Some favorites are the KimChee stew, dumpling soup, Dolsot Bimbimbap(hot pot), and spicy pork bulgogi.

Fantastic Korean restaurant in Duluth, GA. I ended up dining at this restaurant several times while attending a wedding in the area! 1. The service is AMAZING. They have a family type of atmosphere where the Korean ladies working their genuinely care about your experience and make sure you have delicious food and care at all times. 2. Lots of delicious Banchan to begin the meal and I love how they don’t short or disappoint with the variety and taste here! Most contemporary/fusion Korean restaurants these days short on the Banchan. 3. Take advantage of their LUNCHCOMBOS! Fantastic deal with large portions! 4. For dinner we tried a variety of meals. The Kalbi was fantastic. Sweet, lightly charred, and super delicious. I ate about 3lbs. of Kalbi and moved to my hot bowl of Suhlungtang. Suhlungtang is a combination of bone broth and beef brisket broth. The soup is simmered at a low flame for long periods until the flavor from the ox bones releases into the soup! They add noodles, seasoning, and meat… and phew… delicious!(Dont forget to add salt and pepper) You can tell they sit their soup with real bone for hours. I love finishing my meals off with a hot delicious bowl/stew. Overall great experience and fantastic restaurant. I will be back!

This place is legit! I’m extremely picky and selective on Korean restaurants and cuisine(being Korean). There are some great Korean restaurants throughout the burbs of Atlanta and then there’s your below average ones as well. No ones perfect, right? But this place is one that deserves its stars because their food/main entrees including pahnchan tastes just like a home cooked authentic meal my grandmother from Korea would make. Yes, folks. It’s that good. Also, I grew up in Atlanta and this restaurant has been around since I was in grade school over on Buford Highway. After a hiatus Seoul Shin Jung is back to claim its throne. I’ve been here several times. Lunch deals/combos are truly deals. Nice sized portions at extremely reasonable prices. I love how they have pairings because many times you wish you could have two from the menu. Then there’s their marinated meats… YUM. Their kalbi(short ribs) are perfectly marinated~ sweet and savory just like it should be. The meat is thick, charred, and juicy to perfection. Probably one of the best kalbis/short ribs I’ve had in town. Their dwejibulgogi(spicy marinated pork) is good too. If you like spicy this is your dish. Another cool thing is they have dinner combos as well. Portions are huge and very well priced for dinner. My father and I had a feast sharing the combo for two. Also, not looking to pair up for a dinner deal? No prob. They have some other items(soups/broth) that are priced nice for dinner as well. They have a couple of private rooms for larger parties. The times I went service has been good. Clearly, based on my review, I will be back again… and again… and again. **Check out food pictures from this restaurant. May cause salivation**

My favorite Korean restaurant EVERRR. I’m usually picky with Korean places because I always get good homemade mama’s(or umma’s) cookin’ every day. It’s located in the same plaza as Oh! My Samgyupsal. Two words: LUNCHCOMBOS. You can pick 1 from Column A and 1 from Column B. Column A consists of mostly soup items such as yukgaejang, soondooboo(tofu soup), ttarogookbab, and sullungtang. Column B consists of meats and fish — 3 kinds of bulgogi(beef, pork, and chicken). Comes with something like 5 – 7 banchans(side dishes) — the kind that my mom would make at home. YUM. And the price? Less than $ 8. The bad: menu is all in Korean. The good: YUMMINESS(because I like it bland, not MSG-laden masked food). Oh, and the service! IDK if the servers speak a lot of English, but they’re really sweet and friendly. Good portions — so much so that I took the food home and made two more meals out of it. My mom was in the restaurant business so she knows food. She said that she could tell sullungtang soup was made out of real bone instead of adding some kind of milk product. That’s always a good sign. And as a previous reviewer mentioned, the ssambab is amazing too. I’ve never gotten bad service here, but you know. sometimes, everyone makes mistakes.

I had never fathomed that a restaurant could provide such horrible service till I dined here with my family. It was a Sunday evening and we entered this establishment waiting to be seated. It may have been about a good 10 minutes before someone noticed we were at the door, till we were approached. The lady that approached us told us that they had a large party in the other room and that their kitchen could not accommodate any more orders at the moment, and said it’d be awhile before they could. We told her that we were willing to wait when another server said that it was okay and that we can be seated. After having been sat and orders been taken, we patiently waited for our food for about 30 minutes. Interestingly enough, during that time two more parties were sat behind us. what happened to the kitchen being overwhelmed? Having been to many korean restaurants before, and our appetite growing larger every passing minute, we decided to ask the server if we could at least get some banchan to munch on. Our server returned shortly with a plate full of just lettuce. What are we? Rabbits? I don’t know what she expected us to do with this. We were a party of 8, and everyone at the tables orders had come out besides mine. I ordered the spicy stir fried squid, which you would assume should be a quick prep. I waited, assuming that perhaps it was on its way. it wasn’t. I asked our server what happened to my order and all she said was that the chef was finishing up with my plate. Another few minutes passed by. nothing. I asked again, it was obvious my order hadn’t been placed with their kitchen. Moments later my food came out and I was finally able to eat. A few people at our table had ordered the galbi, and we had asked if any stew came with their order, and the server said yes and that she’ll go put the order in with the kitchen. When she returned to our table to refill drinks, we had asked her if the stew was on its way and she said yes, she had told the kitchen. I believe we had asked for it about five different times where our stew was and each time she replied with«it’s on its way.» About 30 more minutes had passed and we finished eating all of our entrees and the stew had still not come out. We told the server that we weren’t interested in the stew anymore and we’d just like our checks. Along with our checks came the stew, how funny. We asked what we were supposed to do with this now that we were done with our meal? The server didn’t know how to respond. We told her since they brought it out, we’ll just take it home instead. as she went to go grab some containers, we sampled the soup to see if it was worth the wait. it wasn’t. The ingredients hadn’t been cooked all the way, the stew itself was bland, it was obvious they just threw something together. First impressions go a long way, without even an apology from the manager or the waiting staff, I don’t see how people can operate a business this way. Never returning here again.
