Came to dumbo on a Sunday starving and this place hit the spot. Hypes: — Small quaint little pizza spot in the heart of dumbo that has yet to blow up with long lines and waits. — Pizza comes out timely and superfresh, with fresh toppings, not soggy on the bottom, and was devoured in minutes — We ordered the Soppressetta!!!(which also comes in a gluten free option). Topped with hot soppressata, cherries, ricotta and mint. The sweetness of the cherries and the spiciness of the meat very well together in this unexpected combination… the cherries for myself personally were a little too sweet. — super friendly staff — kid friendly(has to be in this area!) Gripes: — Cash only!

I was at a friends house babysitting and they bought this sausage and apple calzone. Now it looked just like an artisan calzone should look, very easy on the yes. But i was hesitant of the taste. Just a believer that«everything» does not need to be artisan:) With that being said this calzone was heaven wrapped in delicious doughy goodness!!! I didn’t get the itis immediately afterwards which is a very good sign. I do not live in the Dumbo area but if I am there or close I will stop by to try the rest of the menu. Very very pleased with the flavors and the dough!!!

So happy to have them in the neighborhood! Ordered delivery on Valentine’s Day. Here’s a quick summary: Ordered Naked Tomato pie without ham and the Brussels sprouts salad. Pizza: delicious! Big chunks of artichoke and olives. Great crust, slightly chewy and lightly crispy. Salad:great flavors and savory dressing. We’ll definitely order from ten again real soon. It’s a nice alternative to Julianas and grimaldis since those two don’t deliver.

Pizza extraordinaire. Italian brick oven, Italian cook, great ingredients all add up to one tasty pie.

We got take out(Seamless!) here and absolutely loved it! We opted for the lasagna and margherita pizza and both were huge hits. Clearly very fresh, high quality ingredients but prepared in a very quick fashion. I have not visited the physical location but hope we can do that sometime soon! Great choice for pizzas and lasagna and hopefully next time, we will save room for the Nutella calzone!

It was good. Not bad. Not memorable either. Marketed as Neapolitan pizza but the crust wasn’t really crisp. No liquor license but not a BYOB either. Service was fine. No complaints.

CASHONLY — THEYDON’T TAKECREDITCARDS. That’s my only complaint, but it’s a big complaint. The service was otherwise great and the food was otherwise delicious. Unusual pizzas with good ingredients. I work around the corner, and I can’t wait to go back… But not until they take credit cards. Come on guys!

I don’t even begin to understand why everybody is so excited about this place. Pizzas are burnt, flavors are too pretentious and everything else not pizza is so bad. My coworkers and i went today at lunch time and I didn’t find any pizza recipe that sounded tasty(maybe just my personal taste profile) so when I saw a $ 14 lasagna I got excited and I ordered it. Being a lasagna fan added to all the raging, throbbing awesome reviews I got really excited. Especially since a $ 14 price tag made me expect a good amount of deliciousness. Well. Here’s my advice. Stick to pizza. My friends were moderately happy. But lasagna sucks. Sucks big time. It was the smallest, flavorless serving of lasagna I’ve ever had. It didn’t even pass as a side. Literally like 2oz serving. Wow, $ 7/oz? Who do you think you are?. You guys suck. Even the waitress knew it. Plus bad salads and bad service? Never again. Why does everybody believes that if it sounds fancy and is expensive it’s better? Bleh… If you’re in dumbo and want pizza, stick to front Street pizza. Honest, cheap, tasty pizza.

We did not need the Open Table reservation for a Tuesday night because Love & Dough was completely empty. Why? Maybe everyone else needed a glass of wine, too. Be warned that there’s no alcohol yet and no BYOB policy in place(our server apologetically told us because the license is pending, they can’t allow people to bring in their own wine). It was also cash only the night we went, but I’m not sure if that’s permanent either. The burrata appetizer was underwhelming(portion-wise, way skimpier than Roberta’s) with unseasoned roasted tomatoes on toast accompanying the dish. But the salad and pizzas were really delicious. They say individual pizza servings, but you could easily share a few apps and one pizza between two. Really nice waitstaff. Not a 5 star experience for some underwhelming dishes and also a surprisingly run down bathroom for a brand new place(the lock on the door didn’t really work).

Walked around and finally came across this awesome little pizza spot right next to the bridge. I started with the Brussel Sprout salad it was yummy and perfect. It included spinach, pine nuts, and a balsamic dressing. It wasn’t too heavy. Ordered the Gluten Free Suppresetta(hope I spelt it right) and it was the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. Highly recommend.

I love Love & Dough! The interior is clean and nicely decorated and service was phenomenal! The Surrpressata was out of this world. I am honestly surprised by how unique the taste was. The heat of the soppressata with the sour/sweet of the cherries was very nicely complemented by the ricotta and fresh mint. Hell yeah. This little place in Dumbo was absolutely the best place we ate at during our trip to New York.

The name is alluring enough to warrant a visit to this brand new Neapolitan haven in DUMBO, and we found that both love and dough fly out of the kitchen in massive and gratifying portions. The staff have a knack for hospitality and warmth, and they wrapped us in their well-tuned version of a great big hug from the very beginning. Granted, a restaurant just starting out has extra reason to roll out the red carpet, but here it felt just as authentic as the award-winning pies. The décor blends DUMBO-appropriate industrial aesthetics with the homeyness of an Italian living room, and here the kitchen is wide open and dominated by a gorgeous real-deal pizza oven. It was especially pleasant to have most of the place to ourselves, although once the word gets out there will be throngs. The menu is split between red and white pizzas and a handful of calzones, along with an impressive selection of salads, cheeses, small plates, and charcuterie. We settled on a salad and a calzone, one of our favorite permutations of pizza dough that is also distressingly difficult to find. The salad had a potpourri of fresh and flavorful ingredients that mixed and matched well — spinach, farro, goat cheese, raisins, and pistachios. The portion was generous and it was light enough to set the table for but not overwhelm the forthcoming calzone. Our calzone was both delicious and a work of art, as the dough was folded and rolled over and around its contents(sausage, spinach, and ricotta) without being fully enclosed. It also managed to be amazingly dense and substantive without being heavy or oily. We were full enough to forego dessert, but alas(happily) dessert did not forgo us. With the owners compliments, the kitchen produced perfectly light and creamy vanilla panna cotta with a citrus caramel drizzle, a very nice way to end. Love and Dough is a delightful neighborhood spot that will only get more enjoyable at the owners add new menu items(as they have said they will) and as the alcohol license takes effect next month. Buon Appetito.

This restaurant opened two weeks ago and they have all the details dialed: interior, service but most of all the food. We had a calzone and a white pizza. Clean plates were sent back to the kitchen as a sign of appreciation.

So happy to have a new place in dumbo. From the same hospitable team of archway. Cute spot with tasty wood fired pizzas. Reasonably priced for the hood as well. Definitely get the dumbo recommendation.

There are now 3 excellent places to get pizza in Dumbo. Unlike Juliana’s and Grimaldi’s though, this is Neapolitan style and there is no long line to get in(at least so far). There are some starters, including a solid Lasagna($ 14), but it’s obviously all about the pizza here. They have sections for red and white pies, so we went with one of each. The Surrpressata!!!($ 15) sounds strange, topped with tomatoes, hot soppressata, ricotta, cherries and mint. The sweetness of the cherries and the spiciness went very well together. For the white, we went with the namesake pie, the Love & Dough, which is topped with truffle cream, portobello mushrooms, mozzarella and prosciutto($ 17), which was amazing. The truffle was strong and was a delicious combo with the salty strips of prosciutto and plentiful portobellos. Both were excellent, though not quite as good as some of the best Neapolitan pies in NYC. Also, do not skip the excellent Nutella Pizza($ 9). Not actually served as a pie, but rather cut up strips of the amazing pizza dough, and filled with tons of gooey Nutella. It’s pretty rich and overwhelming, but well worth it even just for a few bites. The space is nice, with high ceilings and the big pizza oven in the back out in the open. Service was great, with very helpful and friendly staff. I’d definitely come here over waiting with tourists at Grimaldi’s(Juliana’s is a tough decision though).
