History

Established in 1984.

My husband & I started out selling his pottery and my handmade paper creations at art fairs. In 1991, I opened a studio with a small gallery in Dunedin, Florida. After moving the store a couple times in downtown Dunedin the gallery has grown to represent over 100 local/​national artists and crafts people along with my husband, Ira Burhans’ pottery and my, Barbara Melby-​Burhans’ handmade paper wall sculptures.

Business Owner

I have been a professional artist for over 30 years working with handmade paper since 1982. I started, what is now called, Clay and Paper Gallery of Art in Ozona, FL. After a year in Ozona, I moved my store and studio to Dunedin, FL. In resent years I mainly run the gallery which represents over 100 artist/​crafts people. In my studio I still make brightly colored handmade paper wall sculptures that are mostly sea life images.

I am an outdoor person which enjoys windsurfing, stand up paddle boarding, gardening and biking. I also belong to garden fairies, an artistic gardening group that has tackled many community projects over the years besides helping it’s members work on each others gardening projects.
