Delicious every time and the service is always friendly and efficient. Love the option of getting a couple small plates or a traditional meal. The lamb kabob is a must!

The theme seems to ring throughout most reviews for Galaxy. It has potential to be a cool place, but there are definitely holes. My biggest problem with the place is the service. We were a group of four girls, and honestly all four of us felt like we weren’t «retro» or «vintage» enough to get even a smile from our waitress. Both times I’ve gone there, the service has been crap. Having said that, I appreciate a place that dares to put Deviled Eggs on the menu, and they probably have the best outdoor seating in all of Easthampton, complete with mood lights and a fire pit in the back.

Really cool retro cocktail bar. Dricks were excellent and average price for the area. Food was very tasty, but portions disappointingly small. Will return soon because of the fun atmosphere.

REALLY, really liked this place. Galaxy leaves many other restaurants far, far away… The décor is very mid century modern and right up my alley! However, and more importantly, the food was perfectly prepared and the menu was different and probably could be termed unique. They had grilled cheese and deviled eggs as appetizers. We had both and were happy we ordered them. They had more traditional entrees(with a twist of course) for our main courses. I had some really nice scallops for my main meal and my sister and brother in law had some lamb. We all sampled each other’s meals and we were all very satisfied. The Galaxy is different… and different is good. I would have more expected to find Galaxy in Northampton. I hear they switch up the menu seasonally and that’s great. If I lived in Easthampton I would be here very often. It gets pretty busy on the weekends here and we had to eat at the bar. If they take reservations I would make some. Maybe one complaint was the bar was a little dark. On the other hand Jessica was a treat as a bartender and made some super good drinks. My Old Fashioned’s were rocking and would kick a mule’s a$$. Thanks for a good time Galaxy!

We just love Galaxy. Great food and good service. This is a fabulous addition to downtown Easthampton. When it’s previous incarnation closed, The Apollo, we were very sad, but Galaxy is great. Casey, chef and owner, kept favorites on this new menu, and lots of new and varied other dishes. We eat there weekly. Thanks. Margaret Wrote this awhile ago… still our favorite.

Possibly my favorite place to eat in western Massachusetts right now. I was taken here on Valentine’s Day, where there was a specialized four course meal. Everything from the brusselsprouts to the salmon were perfection. The mood was set wonderfully, with a live trumpet player and someone singing Frank Sinatra. Every time I come here there is something new to try!

Wish 0 stars was an option, I think they keep the lights so dim so you don’t see how dirty everything is, plates had gunk stuck on them glasses had spots and lip stick, looks like they were rinsed not washed! GROSS! And the food wow what a disappointment! I mean I’m no chef but it would seem the person who made our food was not either. The wife had scallops that were burnt outside and raw in the middle with very watery loose risotto well she said the kale was ok, and I had the Salmon what to say the Hollandaise was a little sweet for my taste salmon had burnt pistachio’s and was pretty dry, the purple rice looked cool but was tasteless served with a bitter slaw, again like I said I’m no chef but neither was the person cooking!

I love this place so much I got an outfit that I only wear to it. It’s a cowboy shirt with rockets on it where you would usually see horses. Anyway the place is very retro and sci fi ish and the food and drinks are always fancy and greatly varied so I can’t say anything other than the place is like a fusion American Bistro. A great place for a party too.

Ate here last night with a pal from Brooklyn. I had scallops over butternut squash risotto and kale. The kale was probably one of the best tasting kale side dishes that I’ve ever had. Not sure how it was prepared but it was yummy. My dates each had hangar steak that was perfectly cooked. We had a number of appetizers including: dumplings, risotto balls, french fries and chop chop salad. This is probably the third or fourth time I’ve been here and I think it was the best! Drinks still seem small… But all in all a great night.

This place has the best food, ambience, and drinks. Good beer selection as well as a full bar with lots of tasty custom cocktails. They have a tapas style menu and literally every single thing that I’ve tried here has been delicious.

Our dinner was wonderful! We started with delicious pork dumplings that came with slaw that had a nice little bite to it. We also shared a beet salad with chopped pistachios and feta that was very well put together. One of us had chicken piccata that came with garlic spinach and polenta and the other had shrimp and grits small plate that also had delicious slices of andouille sausage. We thought most of the prices were fare. Small plates are $ 7 and $ 8. My shrimp and grits for $ 8 was a very filling amount of food. Conversely, the chicken piccata entrée for $ 17 was not any more food than my small plate, but it was excellent. Quality is more important. We shared a warm chocolate cake with mascarpone cheese and cherries on the side and it was terrific. I’m sorry some of the previous diners had disappointing waitstaff because our waitress was very friendly, helpful and cared enough to ask how our food was every time she brought out a new plate. Galaxy’s décor is charming. Background music varied from annoying, loud rock to vocal standards that were more appropriate for the atmosphere. I hope those who didn’t have a good experience go back and try Galaxy again. We also hope Galaxy brings back the buttermilk fried chicken that the Appollo Grill did so well! Please?

Wife and I stopped in here last week after stopping at Dominoes around the corner and eating dinner(Alfredo bread bowl and extravaganZZZa pizza) in the car. She had been planning«dinner and drinks date night» for weeks so we were excited. After a brief stroll around the corner we entered Galaxy. We headed to the bar and both loved the décor. It totally looked like my grandparents basement from when I was a kid. All they need is a mirrored wall. We sat at a small table in the corner and checked out the drink menu. I’m an at home mixologist so when I saw the menu I was pumped. So many choices. Totally cutting edge. This place clearly has the best mixologist probably on the east coast working here. There menu was really top shelf. I ordered the cucumber Cosmo and the wife had a mudslide. My Cosmo was really well balanced. Plenty of sugar to balance the creaminess of the cucumber and the sauciness of the gin. It was awesome and not too girly. My wife’s frozen mudslide was not. There was waaaaay to much Hershey’s syrup in it. I like my mudslide chocolaty but this was crazy. Of course my wife thought it was the best cocktail ever but she also thinks jimmy buffet margarita mix is the perfect summer morning drink. She’s a boozbag that can’t tell the difference between Dominoes Alfredo sauce and Mulinos in Northampton. Everyone in the valley, foodies and unfoodies, knows Mulinos does the best Alfredo. For desert I had the root beer float and she had the Neapolitan Napoleon. Can’t really mess up a float. You just dump some ice cream in a soda. Mission accomplished there. The Napoleon was top notch. Really fluffy and crazy sweet cake layered with chocolate and strawberry whip cream garnished with house made chocolate covered strawberries. Totally European. I couldn’t believe I was eating this in easthampton! It was probably the best desert I’ve EVER had and I’ve been to France. I had éclair there and scones and this was the best desert ive ever had. Hands down. Even better than the cream puffs at the big e. It was THAT good!

We’re long time customers and big fans of first the Apollo and now Galaxy. I look forward to each visit that we make. The beer list is always a tough decision for me when you have roughly a dozen great choices. Food — the menu seems to always have something that hits the spot. Unlike most menu’s in the valley they change often. It’s nice to see someone always adapting their menu to accommodate for seasonal changes. When its summer and the valley is producing veggies they take advantage of it and you’re guaranteed fresh local choices. Service — exceptional in the one time we had an issue we voiced our concern and it was dealt with. They provide consistent excellent service with a sense of humor. I was truly bummed when Apollo closed but they carried it on here at Galaxy and they continue to provide us with an exceptional product.

instructions on how to enjoy dinner at Galaxy: stand up, say goodbye to your rude waitress, walk outside, cross the street, enter Coco. enjoy.

Sigh. They keep toying with my heart. The food is so hit or miss, that after the last ‘miss,’ we probably won’t be coming back. Duck was overcooked and rubbery, truffle fries soggy and lukewarm, grilled cheese was greasy. It all felt very grandma’s diner, but with much high price tag. $ 50 poorer but full of indigestion, I think I’m done giving the food«one more chance.»

I feel I should update this. I recommend anyone go here, sit at the bar, order a Smoke Nebula(or one of the many fine brews on tap) and also the deviled short rib app. Then get another app. And another. Also, the deviled eggs change constantly, and are almost always worth eating. Especially for the price. I rarely order an entrée, but if there’s something that looks extra-good I will. Tonight it was poblano marinated chicken breast with polenta, corn salsa and spinach. It was a terrific dish and the chicken was grilled to a super-tender perfection. But, more often than not, I order an app, see how I’m feeling, order another… etc. And this place is perfect for that kind of dining at the bar. Either alone or with friends. A place that has lots of small plates to snack on is my happy place. (The few times I’ve gone with a group, rather than just me and a friend or two, they’ve also been great as a sit-down dinner restaurant, but usually that’s not my thing.)

I’ve been here a bunch of times. The first few from my earlier review were pretty decent. The last couple times, I thought the food was pretty meh and the staff was not only unfriendly but just unhappy and unwelcoming. A complete turn-off. From reading other reviews, I’m not the only one who feels this way which is really unfortunate for Easthampton.

Can’t say enough about this place. My wife and I went here early one Sunday evening, ravenous and relaxed after going to the massage school. We sat at the bar and ordered a non stop barrage of small plates and several fancy cocktails. The bartender gave excellent recommendations and the service could have not been any better. Every creative plate was prepared beautifully, wonderfully seasoned, generous portion sizes for the money and fresh ingredients. The portions were what I would call large tapas sizes. Enough to share, but small enough that you can really try many things and not feel miserably stuffed if you try to finish them all. I lived briefly in Charleston South Carolina and the local dish is Shrimp and Grits. Galaxy’s version may be the best I have ever had! Three weeks later I returned with a friend. We sat at a table in the bar. We ordered drinks I had two small plates as she had already eaten. The waitress was hilarious and so wonderful. Again, food prepared beautifully, seasoned well and good portions for the money.

I really want to like Galaxy, maybe that is why I keep going back. The mixed drinks were confusing, pulpy and not that great. Sure they sound good, but I would stick to beer and wine. Also there is one bartender there that really hates life. Actually, every time I have gone there the service hasn’t been the best. The food is pricey– 20 $ for 4 sea scallops? I would suggest sharing some apps and eating dinner at home. Or if you want to pay 20 $ a plate go across the street to Coco. Seriously.

The food was of very good quality, but definitely on the higher side for cost. The waitstaff was a bit too obsequious, checking in a tad too often and being a bit TOO present, but I would much rather have this error than the lack of all attention. We were not met at the door, and were told to find a table ourselves by a bartender, and then were told that we should have been seated… Overall, nothing big and insurmountable, but signs of a disorganized front of the house. The menu is deliberately limited, and so there are not a huge amount of Vegetarian options, and very little Gluten Free options that I saw. The saving grace is the food. The risotto balls were tasty and perfect. My dining companion said his Salmon was the best he had ever had. The Enchiladas I had were flavorful and spicy. The Crème brûlée was some of the best I had ever had. Dinner for two, ginger ales, an appetizer and two desserts was somewhere in the $ 60 range, so come prepared.
