Gabriel Berson, MD, FAAP

Sad to say that we are switching doctors. My son and I really liked Dr. Berson a lot. He had a great sense of humor and spoke to my son in a way that commanded a lot of respect and trust.
But I found the nurses (they call it their care team) impossible to work with. They were impersonal, made lots of mistakes, and generally were not accommodating about, well, pretty much anything and everything. Since I have to speak to them a whole lot more than I speak to Dr. Berson, I will have to find a new doctor because I get angry every time I deal with that office, and who needs that? We’ll miss you, Dr. Berson!

We visited Dr. Berson for the first time today and can’t say how impressed we were. His bedside manner is excellent, his interaction with my 4 year old son was spot on and his knowledge and training are so impressive. We’ve been looking for a great pediatrician in Seattle and we’ve found him. The practice is very user friendly and the brand new facitilities at Virginia Mason have the feel of an upscale spa. I also like the weekend availability and on-​call physician.
What a relief to have found the right fit!

When we were first looking for a doctor, we had no idea what to look for in a candidate. I did some research and seemed pretty happy with the doctors at Virginia Mason. I picked the one that seemed to come the most recommended by other parents and magazines. After a few initial visits, we weren’t completely happy with that doctor and voiced some concerns.
Lucky for us, the doctors here understand that child care is a touchy field and have no problem trying to find the best doctor for your situation. We had our appointment with Dr. Berson and have never looked back.
Dr. Berson has a very calming bedside manner. He’s very knowledgeable and has always been available whenever we needed him. He doesn’t mind answering questions and giving his honest opinion but does support any decisions you make.
The Virginia Mason pediatric facility is beautiful too. They are secluded, which is really nice. A brand new remodel and layout. The staff there has been great too. We had a serious problem with one of the temps there early on but since then, we’re never had another issue and have always had really kind reception and caring nurses.
Overall, he’s a caring professional that you can trust in an emergency. A great doctor for children.
