DONOTRESERVETHISVENUE. Had my brothers wedding there this past weekend. The owners were extremely rude and condensing. She basically yelled at the flower girl to not throw silk petals on the ground because it would clog up some system?! Dinner was served way late and the bridal party couldn’t even bring in alcohol. The dj was rude and didn’t play any requests until the last 30 min or so. Really? If you are going to spend a bunch of money on your wedding you should be treated like royalty. After all it is your day. I would have given it one star but the reception place was beautiful. There are plenty of other places that can be made beautiful and make you feel beautiful and thankful for your business. Very disappointed.

The Crystal Ballroom looked lovely on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The staff who greeted me were polite. I was late due to poor signage. The facility does not have a sign to lead you to their parking lot. It looks like an industrial building outside. The parking lot needs repair. I did not try the food or beverage as I was just performing the ceremony. The sound system used for the ceremony had a high reverb/echo. When I left and drove past the outside, I saw a sign on the building facing IL157, but that doesn’t help me once I turn onto the road where it is located.

Very poor service. Was there for a funeral dinner and the help was rude. Food was way below average. Would highly recommend not using this establishment.

GCC markets itself as a combination Deli/Catering/Chef service. I’ve experienced it exclusively as a venue for receptions, fundraisers, and meetings. The Crystal Room(larger space) is well lit, and very lovely. The Cherub Room(smaller space) has no windows, white walls, tiled floors, a Greek Revival sort of aesthetic that, even with imported floral displays, is just a little too stark for me. This weekend, I was there for a fundraiser in the smaller room while a reception was taking place in the larger. The food was good, but the buffet service was about 15 minutes behind schedule getting started(it must be difficult to serve two large rooms at approximately the same time). Bill was especially helpful in greeting people at the door, directing them to the proper space, and in helping with our audio-visual set up.

We had a class reunion hosted here. The food was average with a below average selection of beer and wine. I suppose it’s a good place to host a large event, but be wary of the menu you select.
