We’ll service all makes and models, including Cars, Trucks, Vans, SUVs, RVs, and Diesel vehicles. We offer our services at very competitive prices & will accept any other Star-​Certified Test Only stations’ coupons. In addition, we’ll also offer our Pass or Free Retest program, meaning if you don’t pass the test the first time around, you can come back get a free retest.

Very fast, used a coupon I found online. Nothing fancy here. Just a few chairs and one stall, so I suggest an appointment in case it’s a busy time. The attendant was very friendly and shared in my excitement that the truck passed. I will definitely use this establishment again!

Fast, friendly, and very reasonably priced. Very clean establishment and the owner was happy to know that I was originally referred here by a family member — I ended up getting a discount! He had everything linked up from my registration form so the smog check was electronically sent over to the DMV — thank goodness I didn’t have to go personally send that in! This isn’t a traditional auto repair place, simply does smog testing and it was perfect for all of my needs. I was in and out in 15 minutes and I even had a person in front of me when I arrived Friday afternoon. I would totally recommend this place!

I came here to get a smog test and the person working there said it would be an hour wait and then ignored me and kept working. I stood there and waited patiently for him to finish and he turned to me and repeated «It will be at least an hour you can go wait over there somewhere». I asked if I could make an appointment or come back another time and he just said «NO!» and walked away. I told him I would go somewhere else and left. Rude. I went down the street to the El Cajon Auto Registration Smog Center at the 76 gas station on 2nd street and Naranca and they were very polite and I was in and out in 10 minutes– easy! Should have gone there in the first place.

I’ve changed my rating for this place because the bad service I received was a couple years ago now and I see in my inbox that 5 months ago someone named Jacky N. offered me 50% off my next smog for the bad customer service I received. I won’t be going back, there are too many other options to bother and I do not mind paying full price for good customer service the first time around. I am pro small business and like to see all local small business do well. Hopefully my previous review got some dialogue going between management and service employees, or around the dinner table if all employees there are family. The allegation that I own some competitive auto repair business down the street named Troys automotive is a ridiculous notion and not appreciated.

My experience over all was great.
This is the third time I used this smog check location. I went on a Saturday around 11AM, there was no wait and my smog check was finished in under 20 minutes.
I also like that this is a family owned company plus the staff was also friendly (one older gentlemen working).
My smog check was under $ 50 for my 2003 car.
I didn’t use a coupon, they had a daily special.
I compared this price with other places in the penny saver and
was still cheaper.

I love this smog place by far it’s one of the best in all of San Diego. I’ve brought three of my cars to him and they all pass with flying colors he is the best smog place. It’s fast and he is friendly. My review is a little late but I found time today to write him a good review I always send all my friends and family to this place because I know they would love his services. To review this place is akin to reviewing a McDonalds… need a smog? Find anywhere that offers a smog. Typical pass or retest for free guarantee, and of course there is no wait. The waiting room is a bit better than others since it has comfy couches and a clear view of your car getting tested. But otherwise, same’ol same’ol…

Scammers. Even if your car will pass smog, it will fail. They’ll find a way to bring you back in and give you a «good deal» on a retest when it should’ve passed the first time. Service is a joke. Wish I didn’t waste my money here.

As a long time customer, I knew what to expect when I stopped by to have my 2002 Accord tested. As always, Ray was courteous and pleasant to interact with. I expected to have to wait for other cars to be completed, but he was able to take my car right away. Based on other Unilocal reviews, I mentioned that I had a brand new catalytic converter installed. He said «no problem» and it wasn’t. I used the $ 15 coupon that I’d printed out, so I got a good price. Someone else mentioned something about getting cheap gas, but there are no gas pumps here, so I think they had a misplaced review. I’ll be back when my wife’s car needs to be tested.

I got a recommendation for this place to get a quick smog. I have a newer vehicle so I was not worried about passing, just didnt want to spend a lot of time waiting. When I arrived there was one person ahead of me and only one guy working. He said it would be $ 50 — 30 mins. I was out in 35 with all the paperwork I needed. Very polite and nice man, very professional. Would recommend to anyone.

These other ratings that gave this place a poor rating must be disgruntled competitors. I have been to this business before. I know the people that run and operate this place. They are absolutely knowledgable and friendly, reasonably priced to the full extent they can be. I would go here again and again and Recommend anybody to go here. I used to manage the Postal facility around the corner on 2nd st. And now live in North County but still would make the trip to this location. Highly Recommend.

PASSED AGAIN! I have been coming to this test only smog station for 12 or more years with my old 76′ Chevy pickup. Evey time the owner has a friendly personal greeting. He is more than happy to answer all my dumb questions about smog test and I ask a lot. Service is always quick, they stick to the price quoted and I always leave with a smile.

I have been coming here for years with many different cars. some passed, some didn’t. when my car didn’t pass, thanh, I believe that’s his name, was always helpful about how to get it fixed and where i can find parts & labor for cheap. I’m a chick and don’t know much about cars. so he was very helpful in that department. it’s not the best looking shop but who cares, it’s a smog test staton, why does it need to look pretty? its convenient for me, helpful and affordable.
