Hands down best gym I recently moved to california and became a member of l. a fitness first and there’s just way to many complaints being introduced to crunch was a great change and I’ve never been happier the equipment is awesome all the people are super friendly, especially the staff! Amber will always greet you with the warmest welcome and make you feel at home she’s awesomee! Every trainer and employee are very knowledgeable with the fitness industry and can help you in reaching your goals I highly recommend checking the gym out you won’t regret it

I have been training at this location with Eddie, one of the trainers, for about a month now and it has been amazing; a life changing experience! He keeps me motivated during and after our sessions, cares about his clients and is truly a professional. He challenges me every session and helps me do workouts i never thought i could. I’m blown away at the significant amount of weight i have lost and muscle i have gained in such a short period of time with his training. He is passionate about what he does and is reflected on his work. Eddie is by far the BEST trainer i have trained with!

Some of the staff members seem to be irritated most of the time. Makes me a little uncumfortable coming in sometimes.
Especially the General Manager. She seems to have absolutely zero ***** to give…

Went a couple of times with a friend and some tall skinny black guy kept being rude to me and the last time he tried to pick a fight with me about some crazy shit. My friend said he is there every day and I should pick another time to go but I work at night. Found a nice gym in Santee its not as ghetto

So I cancelled my membership back in April and apparently someone on the Crunch side never posted the cancellation and they are claiming that I owe them $ 125 in fees luckily I kept my cancellation paperwork. I would never recommend a gym like this if they can’t figure out what’s going on with simple paperwork and I feel bad for any of their customers that they are stealing money from unknowingly it’s unfortunate that a gym that is such a sh_​t show has become as big as this one has.

I was told by a woman at the front desk that there is no annual fee. Which was a complete lie. When I called the billing department they couldn’t understand why I was complaining. When I called the gym they basically said that I was given the wrong information, but there was nothing to do about it. I wish I could give the wrong information to my customers and make money off of them. The gym is small and the classrooms is tiny. No pool, any amenities and classes have to be paid for. Showers are often unclean. Making arrangements to find a new gym already.

The space of the gym is rather sparse. A friend of mine is a member and so I have gotten the chance to try this place as a guest. I honestly don’t think it’s as good as my current gym, Planet Fitness, though the color scheme is certainly better. I even took a shower in the locker room. While I liked the bigger space, I don’t like the weak water pressure nor the fact that you have to bring your own lock for the lockers. It’s not a bad gym. But it’s not a great gym either. I like that Planet Fitness offers Gatorade as well as a bigger variety of drinks for its members to buy. Not that true here at Crunch.

I went in thinking I would just do the free consultation and leave. Daniel was the personal trainer I met with and at first I kept my guard up knowing he would try to sell me on buying one of their packages. Then Daniel starting going over some the things I was trying to work on. I told him cause I am in the military and I did a lot of hiking and it messed up my knees making it harder for me to run or even stand for a period of time. I told him I went to see someone about it but it didn’t help. I am in the navy and had been struggling with the physical readiness test and wanted to do better. I thought I would only be able to do the bike because of my injury. In one session with one simple stretch Daniel made the pain in legs go away. I was sold. I started training every other day with him. Daniel got me on an excellent workout plan and made a diet plan for me. Because of him I can run again. I passed my fitness test with no problem.

Walked into the little yoga room to stretch. An old lady that was doing some weird sh*t she called yoga with 4 other ladies told me to LEAVE, because she got a class until 9! What a nice attitude you said it Ms. Who ever the hell you are. Just to put it out there for you, I PAY 19.95 a month, aight!
I would like to let Mr. Chris, the general manager, know that this review was left for you mam, otherwise the gym is great and I’ve been a member for over 3 years and never left a review. Imagine how badly you got on my nerve to let me do this.

Great treadmills. Some of the best I’ve used Very easy to accelerate/​degenerate, very smooth acceleration arc, and extremely soft, yet confidence inspiring amount of traction and reactivity.
Great staff. Straight up pricing with polite offers to help me anytime I decided to explore future membership options. The personal trainers, from a distance, seemed to be really legit also.
Crowd density was nonsense. I enrolled on a Monday late noon. Full of people? You bet Used an awesome trail and went home paid for premium month even though I only use treadmills and weights (just to avoid any future drama).
Got there at around 2:30 on Tuesday. Still too crowded AND only 2 Smith-​like machines.
Got there at around 1:00 on Wednesday. Not too crowded, but filling quickly. Finished quickly on treadmill and sprinted to what I thought was a Smith machine.
Holy smokes. That gear sucked sooooooooooo bad, I did one rep, walked to the front of the gym, cut my membership in half and the it away. If your into «core strength» or…“agility training”…Our kettle bells. Our some other fad, have at it. If you are aspiring to high levels of performance, keep on truckin!
Equipment– some of the worst I’ve ever used.

I’ve been members at other gyms and this is by far the worst one. Their events they hold are embarrassing (why would you give out candy at a gym?) and it’s always so stuffy and smelly there which I get it’s a gym but I feel like there’s something they can do about it. First, I was mad because when signing up I told them I was interested in the group fitness classes. The man told me I could only go to classes if I had the $ 20 membership so because of that, I got the more expensive option. I found out later that they let people with $ 10 memberships in. I decided to cancel my membership because I got a free membership to a different gym with my job and it has been such a hassle. First, I purposely canceled two days before my billing period to make sure I wouldn’t be charged. I even asked the man «so I won’t be charged right?». He assured me I had nothing to worry about. Of course, I was charged. When I tried to call, twice I was told to call back another day because there wasn’t a manager there. As someone who has worked in customer service, I know that the company should be calling you back, not vice versa. When I finally spoke to someone about getting my refund, they told me it would take 5 days to see in my account. That was said to me over two weeks ago! I even called my bank and there is nothing pending. Now, I have called twice about my refund, both times told it’s «too busy» over there and they will call me back and never did. My sister had the exact same issue and warned me, but I assumed she just had some bad luck. I am warning you to not join crunch unless you plan to be there forever because they will try to rip you off. I would have gladly told this to a manager instead of a Unilocal review, if I ever got a hold of one. I have called in total five times and even one walk in. Do they even have a manager? Doesn’t seem like this. Go for the Crunch on Jamacha or even better, avoid Crunch gyms entirely.

Came here to workout on a Tuesday afternoon. Not that much people were in maybe because everyone was still at work! I like this location better than the Bonita one because it feels bigger and you’re not near the food court to get tempted to eat something unhealthy after working out.
I haven’t been to a gym for over a yr now and coming back feels great it’s just at this moment my legs are super sore but feels good to know you’re doing something about it. Staff are nice and tvs while you’re on the machines.
Also I love how you start a workout with those stairs upon entering and leaving a workout going downstairs was painful!

The workers here are extremely friendly, do not second guess asking questions or simply asking for tips on how to work out. Great crew and have a lot of respect for all the workers here. I wana give some praise to my man Conor for always being an overall good guy and a hard worker. As I already said the customer service here is great, all employees welcome you once you enter the door with utmost honesty and compassion… great gym and great people. If you want advice on machines or equipment or just overall space my best advice is to pay a visit here and see if crunch fletcher parkway El Cajon is the place for you.

I’ve been wanting to join Crunch for a while now and I’m so glad I did. The staff is friendly. The gym is small but it isn’t a big deal, not for me anyway. I like that the women’s locker room is clean and has spacious lockers for me to put my stuff in. I also really like the fact that with my peak membership I can bring someone with me who is at least 13 or older, which is great for my younger sister if she wants to join me for a workout session!

Best gym I have been to in a while. The staff was superb and went out of their way to help me set up my membership. 5 stars!

Very clean and friendly staffs. Exercise equipment are always available. One of my favorite place for my «me time «.

This place is so shitty. The workers are so unhepful. Pay close attention to your billing statements! You may thing its a good price, but really they will bill you for every little thing and it defineitely adds up. Would rather just go to 24 hours or something. At least you get a better experience.

I’m giving 4 stars cause they do pretty good for what they got. And the no contract one year price is legit, unlike some of the other liars… I rejoined when I found out they got a real squat rack.(h8 smith machines). And for there size a good amount of free weights and dumb bells… For what they have to work with there doing a good job. And for the he last two weeks the ventilation has got better.

We signed up for this gym a few months ago and since Thanksgiving have vowed to go. The other day was when my husband and friend decided to go. They wanted to go layrt evening when it wasn’t busy. They showed up at 7pm only to find a sign that said they closed early. His friend was really upset because he drove all the say from LA Mesa. The website never said anything about being closed or the hours different for the holidays. Get your stuff together!

Great gym for a great membership price! 5 stars for sure! If you are going to visit this location and you’re just coming to work out, it’s $ 10 a month. Now if you have body dysmorphia like me and spend 2 hours in a gym 6x a week, you’re really getting a bargain here. If you want to tan under UV lights, get hydromassages, join the group classes, bring a guest for free, and visit any location then it’s $ 20 a month. You can sign up month to month and you can even join through their website. I got a free towel for signing up! I love free stuff! I definitely think this is a great gym for people who are just getting started. I definitely don’t think this is a great gym for girls who feel uncomfortable by guys in the weight room easily though. There is probably 1 girl for every 15 guys in the weight room and if you’re cute, they will have googly eyes all over you.
I have been a member at 24 Hour Fitness since 2006. I have been to the majority of the locations in throughout San Diego and Crunch Gym is definitely better than any 24 Hour Fitness I have been to. Again the membership is inexpensive so that’s a bonus for everyone including the people who do not go on a regular basis or who love signing up in January because «New Year, New Me». The equipment at Crunch is new. Nothing squeaks, everything works smoothly, and there is equipment for every muscle group. Ladies, do not forget to do your kegels in between sets! There is no machine for that! Only Ben Wa balls, but they don’t sell them here.
I do not use wrist wraps and after about an hour of lifting on back days, my calluses are about to rip off my hands, but not at Crunch Gym. Today I worked back and my hands weren’t murdered. They felt exactly the same way they did walking in.
This gym is exceptionally clean! My hands aren’t brown from picking up plates and touching everything after my workout. The water from the drinking fountains are always cold. Besides having limited hours and limited locations (4 in San Diego), this gym is better than any 24 hour I have been to. The front of the gym isn’t stocked with supplements and the trainers here don’t harass you on the floor to purchase training packages. Since the gym is located upstairs, there are signs that remind you not to slam/​drop weights. I don’t think this is really a problem. I’m bigger than some of the boys in here. Like I said, this is a great gym for beginners and they have UV beds so if you can tone it, tan it!!!
