Fix Auto El Cajon

it is no wonder that these ass-​clowns went out of business. but beware, this shop has been bought out by caliber collision, and I don’t know if they hired new technicians or kept the old ones. at any rate, I guess unless you fit the mold to actually get repairs done right to your vehicle, then don’t go there.
long story short, my car was involved in a minor accident and I was recommended to go to this shop. so I did. when I took it there, they were very thorough and they explained what they were going to do. my car had paint transfer and some rim damage. after a week, they called and said my car was ready for pick up. I picked it up and we did a walk around, but I was in a hurry and I neglected to give it a thorough inspection. my mistake.
the rim that was damaged was not repaired or even looked at, it was just switched from the rear to the front. my guess is that they thought I wouldn’t notice. ha!
there was overspray all over the windshield and the side windows, but they claimed to have not done any «spraying» to my vehicle.
the pressure in all four tires was super maxed out, up to 54 psi all around when they are supposed to be at 32.
when asked, the guy that worked there came up with some bullshit excuse about «that’s how they do it,» and «they just forgot to switch the rim back after the alignment,» and «we’ll take care of it.»
yeah, well they didn’t.
in fact, they fucked the windshield up even more. so much more that it had to be replaced.
I could write more, and I probably should.
thankfully, they’ve gone belly up, and hopefully nobody else will have to experience the level of fuckery that I did when I went there.

My wife and I were referred here by our insurance company after she got into an accident and needed the front body of the vehicle and the radiator repaired. They got the repairs done in about a week and everything was going fine until we went to pick up the car and were informed that the A/​C was no longer working. This probably wouldn’t have been a major issue, but the rep we spoke to claimed that the broken A/​C was not caused by either the accident or the repairmen who worked on the car since most of the damage was done on the opposite side of where the A/​C unit is located. My wife uses her A/​C on a daily basis and so we know for sure that it was working fine up until the point of the collision, and we find it incredibly hard to believe that it mysteriously broke independent of both the accident and the work done at Fix Auto. I’m giving two stars because our service was good outside of this hang up, and I don’t directly blame Fix Auto for breaking our A/​C; however, I don’t understand how they can possibly claim that neither they nor the accident had anything to do with the faulty A/​C. Now we have to get a second opinion from the dealership before the insurance company will cover the A/​C repair. Thus, we came away from our interaction with them feeling that at worst they were deliberately dishonest, and at best they put us in a position where we now are not likely get our insurance to cover the repair; either way, we were not satisfied with the overall experience, and will not be returning customers.

Just got my car backs after 6 days angel was the person who helped me with the estimate. And took the time to tell me what had to be done. Unlike most places dont tell you. I recommend this shop.

I was so impressed with their smiling customer service and estimator staff as well as the shuttle driver. Parts were ordered and the car fixed with no problem. The actual cost came in under the estimate and that savings was passed on. I recommend this collision center.

I’ve given myself a few days to think about what I actually want to write for my review. At first I was upset due to the problem of getting my car back but after calming down and looking at the positive parts I’ve decided to write my review now. For starters a lady hit my car, totally didn’t look an backed up into me and knocked my bumped lose and scratched it up. Thank god she had insurance and they took care of it. Through her insurance company we were sent here. Everything seemed okay, we got a rental car that was covered we just had to pay for the insurance on it whatever the breakdown was per day. I turned it in the second day because it just was a waste at that point because per Chris it was a simple fix it shouldn’t take more then a day. Okay perfect! He would call us later on Thursday to let us know! The bumper itself was easy, but the paint is the problem. They didn’t paint the car on Thursday, nor Friday, an they said they were going to have a guy come in on his day off on Saturday to do it which was very nice of them. Still no call on Monday. By now it’s getting irritating. When somebody tells you it’s simple and it’s not a big deal an it shouldn’t take longer then a day and it’s been dragged on it does start to take its toll. The receptionist was very unhelpful when we would call she would just ask us for the name and tell us somebody would call a hour before our car was ready for pick up. Monday night rolls around and my husband gets a text 10
Minutes before they close saying our car was ready for pick up. He calls and nope! False alarm, they’re still waiting for the estimator to come look at it. Tuesday morning and my husband calls again and the estimator still hasn’t shown up. Based off what Chris told us we made appointments for Tuesday for our kids and now out a car we were getting irritated. If we knew it was going to take longer then the day we were originally quoted I guess we would have eaten the cost of the rental and kept it longer. But they did call a few hours later and said our car was ready! Yay! But here’s where I’m confused. We were told multiple times through the weekend that the car wasn’t even painted yet and the guy had to come in on his day off but then it charged to he seen something he didn’t like and sent our car back 2 times to fix it? So whatever story is true I’m just glad to have my car back. They did a good job on my bumper. That’s the reason I’m leaving the additional stars. They waxed my car which was nice and they cleaned it and you can’t even tell it was hit. An that’s all that really matters but honestly I wouldn’t come back to this place because they’re unreliable.

Wife ran over a beamer with my truck and popped one of my 37’s. After insurance and everything Fix Auto said they could do the repairs under my deductible of $ 500.00 and that the tire was «local» so it wouldn’t take long. I was originally quoted $ 460… After multiple calls I didn’t hear back for over a week. Going on two weeks I finally got a call that they just got my ONE tire in and that the actual price is $ 700+. Still haven’t gotten my truck back…
Fair warning to all. Stay away… far far away.

My Jeep Grand Cherokee had damage to the right front when hitting our air-​compressor pulling into the garage, leaving a pretty deep scrape and bending the front out of place. After contacting Fix Auto El Cajon as a recommended provider by my insurance, I arrived and within 5-​min, Liz had inspected my vehicle. 15-​min later I was out the door with a repair quote.
Liz set it up so the repair parts could be pre-​ordered, and I scheduled turning in my vehicle knowing everything was ready so I would be without my Jeep for the shortest time.
During the actual repair, I was kept up-​to-​date both by Liz as well as a photo link showing progress — great to have both! One of the parts had arrived damaged and had to be reordered from another city, so the repair took a day longer than expected, but very understandable.
When I received my Jeep it had been washed and vacuumed, and the repair work looked as good as new — thanks Liz and Fix Auto!

I paid out of my pocket, didn’t go through an insurance company. This place isn’t very trust worthy as far as estimates and deadlines. Initially a rate was agreed upon and once they had my SUV the next day they called and told me it’d be another $ 350 but they might be able to knock it down to $ 200 by lowering the labor rate. When I showed up in person to tell them I want my SUV back and I’d go elsewhere they said $ 100 would be fine, so I left it there.
THEY said my SUV would ready for pick up on a Friday, yet called me then and said it wasn’t going to be ready until Monday because the part was going through painting and needs time to dry. I called on that Monday and apparently it won’t be ready until Tuesday afternoon! They weren’t waiting on a part, they just didn’t bother painting it on Friday which is neglect on their part.
Once your car is there they’ll take your $ 150 for a «tear down» fee so regardless if you want to go elsewhere they’ll at least get that money out of you.
I do not recommend!!!

I showed up to get an estimate and they told me to come back later because all the estimators are at lunch. Great way to run a business… send paying customers back out the door.

The absolute worst mechanic I have ever been forced to deal with. If you have any choice at all, avoid this place at all costs. Our insurance company chose to send our vehicle here after an accident and in our naïveté we decided to trust their judgment. They took more than a month and a half longer than projected, keeping our vehicle for 2 and a half months. Full of excuses and blame for anyone not in the room at the time but in the end it was just bad workmanship. When we were finally able to pick up the car it was literally missing pieces. I am baffled that a company like this is in business at all.

Great experience, came in as a walk in with a damaged bumper after a collision in a parking lot of a cat spay/​neuter clinic. Fix Auto got it replaced for under $ 1000, done in 2 days.
And they hooked me up with a rental right there for $ ²⁰⁄₂₄ hr period, very low hassle. Was easily able to keep transporting massive amounts of cats!
OH, but this is the best part. When I picked up the car (10 min after they closed, but they waited for me) they’d scuffed out the horrible long scratch all down the side. Just cause (yeah I’m not so good in parking lots).
And they’d vacuumed the massive amounts of spilled cat food and cat litter on the car floor. Bonus!

Took my red f250 crew cab in after a Nissan Altima tried to park under my front. First I dealt with was Amber she was very helpful. After insurance set my repair they scheduled my repairs quickly. Went and picked up my truck they had even washed and quick detailed it. I noticed a small misadjustment on my bumper as fast as I mentioned it. Swoop they ran it back in and realigned it. They checked my rental in and all is good. I would go back the entire staff was helpful and Johny on the spot from estimate to pick up. Not a bunch of waiting for them to handle things.

They have the best customer service and Empor helped me a lot. Just I want to say thank you so much.

I usually let my husband handle any of our cars issues and maintenance and such. So my car has gotten hit twice in less than two weeks time frame. And after a horrible experience at world auto body which I will be writing a review on our experience after, my husband did not want to bring it back to that shop when we got hit again. so our insurance gave us Fix Auto. My husband dealt with them the whole time and I was hoping it would be done before my birthday weekend (I literally got it a week ago5/​15 right before my birthday) and I could not be Happier. My husband had additional works done to the car becuz one of my door color mismatch with the rest and all I can say is everything match now. That door bugs me since I got the car for my birthday two years ago and my husband and Fix Auto made me one happy Birthday girl. The place is so nice and clean and big. Kim was amazing. She definitely made us feel that she will take care of us and my baby Beamer (yes I nickname her). Definitely recommend this shop for any body works becuz of the superior customers service and amazing results .
oh I forgot to mention, the work that World Auto Body on North Marshall in El Cajon for my first accident, was horrible. Such a half ass job they did, so Fix Auto redid World Auto Body work and made it look soOo nice again. Thank yu Guys at Fix Auto. Yu guys definitely made the waiting game worth it and taking care of my baby Beamer.

What can I say about Kim and the crew of fix auto. The experience here was outstanding, as Kim made it her personal goal to make sure my car was done right. I have a 2006 bmw and I had a previous shop work on the car from an insurance claim. Kim went thru the trouble get my car repaired warrantied thru her shop along with my additional repairs. Not once did the crew at fix lied or bs me on what additional repairs I had, and even invited me to come see what they would do. Wow!!! I even got the tour of the shop as I was part of the family. If you are looking for a good honest body shop that provides outstanding customer service, this is the place to go. From the techs to front shop members, I never felt a bad vibe from the crew. I work in the automotive industry, and this place really sets the bar high. Here to the crew at fix auto

When we first got her car back we thought everything was okay and done properly. However we have now taken the car back by five different times to get them to fix it right. Everytime we get the car back something else is done wrong or broken. Everything from installation of brackets upside-​down, misalignment of tail light, and twice it had leaks so when it rains in my trunk fills up with water. We are beyond frustrated never under any circumstances take your car to get fixed there.

Thank you Kim, frank rick for repairing my explorer I appreciate all of you there, my explorer is so beautiful thanks to u all, when I brought it in on Tues it was a mess with a messed up fender and now it looks to totally brand new again, I will recommend this shop to anyone who need body work! AWESOME JOB GUYS AND LADIES! Love you all

Avoid this place. This was the worst experience we have ever had. The paint color of the repair did not match the color on my car. They stated it was due to another repair. It still did not match on the non-​reparied areas. Took the car home and noticed the back seat had been damaged due to the welding sparks flying on to the seat. Little pin hole burns all over the back seat. What kind of business does this? Brought it back in and they offered to give us $ 150 for the damage. FOR A BACK SEAT??? If I took it get repaired it would be a lot more than $ 150. No resolution after months. A coincedence that the gentelmen we were working with no longer works there!!! BBB all the way.

I wish there were a star to check that was in the negative. From the moment I dropped my car off it was the worst experience on every level. Instead of boring you w all the details I will keep it short and to the point. If I took the time to list all the things that happened your head would spin. The quality of work was the worst I have ever seen. The entire process took over a month and the end result was that I had to take it to a different FIx Auto to have it done right. I can only hope that they have gotten better in every facet of their business for the sake of unsuspecting souls in the future.

They are efficient and try really hard to keep their customers happy. My minor bumper damage was fixed the same day
Update: down one star! I was contacted about my review and after I told them my reason for low rating, I never got a reply back. Guess they preferred not to know. THEY SCRATCHED MY CAR DOWN TO PRIMER IN TWO LONG AREAS ON MY DOOR.
