Los Garcia’s has been the number one hangout spot for ECV high school kids since my freshman year(~2011). Carne asada fries and rolled tacos are the bomb! I live in Irvine now, but I always make sure to go to the taco shop(this one specifically) whenever I get to go back home. Same goes for anyone I know that left El Cajon and comes back to visit family. Lots of parking and friendly service. Carne asada is seasoned perfectly, guac is always on point, cheese is great. All together is just a major yessssss. (Writing this review because I’m currently craving all of their food as I’m stuck in Irvine for school.)

I love the flavor of carne asada here. So yummy. Plenty of parking space and tables to dine on.

I’m new to the area, and since than have been on the search for some really good Mexican food, and voilà, here it is! I ordered the deluxe chicken nachos which include the usual chips, chicken, sour cream, guac, and salsa fresca; the chicken was seasoned to perfection, and cooked just so. I definitely recommend ordering them, and coming here, you honestly will not regret it!

Potato tacos with rice and beans. So good and their beef tacos as well. The girl who works the register has a personality of a mop. No smile. Pretty hard core looking. Clearly you don’t want to piss her off.

Bomb Mexican Food, grilled chicken burrito tasted fresh, the Shrimp burrito was on point. Both red and green salsas were good. I stop by almost always if I’m in the area. Highly recommend it if your in the mood for Mexican food and the place seems cleaner than most taco shops.

I was jonesing for some rolled tacos at midnight. Luckily, Los Garcia’s was nearby and open until 2:00AM. I made use of the drive thru and ordered some rolled tacos with sour cream on the side. I like to keep my rolled tacos crispy and just dip as I go. The cashier was quick and got my order just right. The two kinds of cheese was a nice surprise. It gave the tacos a better flavor. I haven’t tried anything else, yet. However, now that I know it’s here and open late, I’ll be coming back.

Came here last night with my boyfriend because I’ve been craving mexican food and wanted a good inexpensive meal before I called it a day. My boyfriend actually recommended we go here since the other taco shop we were trying to go to was closed. We went through the drive thru and ordered carne asada chips and a large horchata with a side of grilled jalapeños. The total came out to be 12 dollars and some change. That price was good because we actually got a lot of meat and chips and toppings for our order. Another bonus was they added sour cream because I’ve gone to other places where I would have to pay extra for them to add it in. Overall, it tasted good, wouldn’t mind coming back here for a late night bite it’s just a bit of a drive because I don’t live close by here.

I enjoyed a pretty good grilled chicken or pollo asado burrito with guacamole and salsa fresca. The place sports a drive thru, but I ate inside. The burrito was of very good size and came filled with a tender freshly grilled chicken. The chicken was mildly seasoned and had a small amount of some sort of red spiced seasoning which tasted pretty good. The guacamole tasted good, but for some reason it was on the watery side and dripped out of the burrito quite readily( ). The salsa fresca was quite minimal in the burrito, but was good, and even though I liked both of the bottles house hot sauce, I preferred the red hot sauce with it heat and great flavor( ). The flour tortilla was good and had nice moist soft texture. Overall, a good chicken burrito, but if the guacamole were thinker, it would of been much better. Service was a little straight forward with little conversation and smiles, but they got the job done. They do not have a salsa bar, but they offer you some squeeze bottle hot sauce if you like.

Not like the burritos from the area I grew up in(paradise hills/national city) but pretty damn close! 4 stars, I’d definitely come back if I was in the area.

Amazing burritos and rolled tacos! By far the best taco shop in El Cajon. Workers could be a little more friendly, but everything else is amazing.

By far the best taco shop drive they in El Cajon. I grew up in El Cajon and recently moved back And couldn’t find decent Mexican food to save my life. My boyfriend and I tried this place twice! And both times it was phenomenal!!! We tried Carne asada fries, rolled tacos, chile relleno(sp?) and cheese enchilada combo, and a California burrito. We got the Cali with no guacamole and sour cream Instead and it was to die for. The Carne asada is coked to perfection. No gristle or chunks of fat, great quality meat! The service was friendly both times. I will be making the drive to go here whenever I need my fix. It was by far the best and actually I’m getting and insatiable craving talking about it, ignore the weird reviews and give it a try. It’s in the old Taco Bell spot which turned me away for a while, but I regret not trying it sooner. Live life #noragrets

We’ve tried what feels like every other taco shop in El Cajon and Los Garcia’s beats em every time, the wait in the drive thru feels like forever, however, worth every second!

Stopped in here for quick dinner. Staff was friendly and efficient. Prices are about the same as other taco shops. I picked up the fish taco combo. It was ok after I poured on a ton of hot sauce. Without it, it was kind of bland. You get a heaping side of rice and beans which tasted better than the taco. I’ll have to try some of other items the next time I am in the area.
