This place is pretty good, although service was a little slow, but really can’t blame them it was a Sunday morning rush after church service. Food was a little greasy, omlette was amazing, he french toash was crispy and perfect. Would recommend this place to family and friends.

I just finished breakfast and it was delicious. I had the F-9 Deluxe frittata. My food came fast and my server Eva was amazing. Super nice and on point. This was my 1st time back here in many years but will be back soon. Large portions and great service. Thanks Eva, Tony I want to add how nice it is to see Venus as a first face when you walk in and even better when she serves on Sunday. I stopped going to all Perry’s when they changed owners years ago but I’m happy to be back. Keep up the good work. Thanks, Tony

So good to stop in for an old school breakfast at Perry’s Café! The waffle special is always great — my husband’s never ordered anything else. .when it’s perfect why mess with a great thing! My favorite is eggs(cooked to prrfect order), bacon(just crispy enough), hashbrowns & the blueberry muffin. It’s been years trying to figure out what makes their muffins so different — still can’t replicate the recipe so I guess we’ll have to keep coming back.

My husband and I had breakfast here yesterday. We’ve been to Perry’s near Old Town tons of times. Always pretty good there. When we walked in it felt like we were walking into a private party. Shades drawn, all of them, and it seemed pretty quiet even though there weren’t many empty seats in the front room. Also had a casino coffee shop in Nevada feel and look to it. The hostess sat us in the back room and gave us menus. We were asked about coffee from the busser. No smiles so far. We decided on our meals and set the menus down. Another party was sat behind us. The waitress knew them and took their order first even though we had been there probably 15 minutes earlier. Anyway, our meals came pretty quickly after we ordered. I had the bacon cheese omelette with Swiss. The omelette was full of great bacon. The Swiss wasn’t real Swiss. It stuck to my teeth the way American cheese product does. Didn’t melt like real Swiss cheese. That was a bummer. Another bummer was the bran muffin I chose which seemed like it came from Walmart and the hash browns that were barely cooked. My husband had the chicken fried steak that was obviously from a frozen party and deep fried. I guess we’ve been spoiled by Izzys and Janet’s. Those two places do breakfast right. The coffee tasted watered down and burned. No reason to go back ever.

This review is for safety issues only. After sitting down for breakfast on the tables along the west side of the building, I looked up and noticed the green lamps hanging from the ceiling. Two of the lamps were broken and had jagged glass on one side of the lamp. I warned my tall friend to be careful when he stood up and not to gash his forehead. When I brought it up to one of the waitresses, she said they had been that way for 10 years. I probably have not been the first person to have brought this up to the staff. I will try to include a picture on my next visit! See photo!

Food is great. Service experience was horrible. I witnessed a waitress actually flipping attitude with two female customers when she told them the credit card machine went down. They didn’t have cash. So she rudely suggested they go down the street to an ATM and get money. When one of the ladies asked if the machine goes down a lot, the waitress said yes. She went on to say they had no idea where the old-fashioned slip reader was. Sorry. I am a merchant too. You always have a back up. And you never snipe a customer when the system fails. Bad on you, Perry’s. Won’t be returning to a place that treats customers so badly.

Coming to the courthouse without having breakfast was bad idea. Luckily there was a break and a quick solution to the hunger pangs were in order. Easy to spot, this café shares its parking area with a super 8 motel. Checking in was a snap. Homey feel as sit in the dining area with other fellow senior citizens. Didn’t get to use their bathrooms so can’t comment there. Mexican fritatta was really good, as the shredded beef was a nice surprise. Flavorful omelette but pretty greasy. Consider this a definite cheat meal. Hashbrowns were cooked extra crispy as requested. Blueberry muffin was fresh and soft. Pork chops were really juicy. If in the area, stop by to this friendly and attentive diner. Can’t go wrong.

I love this place. Their food is always on par, the service is always straight to the point. Theirs a reason this iconic breakfest joint has been here for so long. Give this place a shit and you’ll love it.

This place is exactly what you would expect from a «mom and pop» resturant. I will say I have never had anything here that I haven’t liked. My food is always brought in a timely manner and is warm and the constant coffee refills are great. I will say my buddy ordered a Mexican dish of there menu and it did not look very appealing but that being said if you want a good Mexican breakfast go to a Mexican resturant. Great service all the time I will be back.

If this review was solely for the service, it would absolutely be a 5-star breakfast joint. The staff is friendly, professional, and welcoming. You feel like a local even when it’s your first time there. Unfortunately, the food isn’t stellar but that’s not to say bad. The breakfast food is definitely their strength over lunch. Their prices are also reasonable for what they offer. Definitely a local spot that should stick around.

This review is for breakfast service. I had the cornbeef hash, it was delicious and under $ 10. All breakfast comes with a choice of bread, I would recommend the blue berry muffin. Comes out warm soft and fluffy slather on a lil butter… mmm Service was fast & she was attentive, she made sure our coffee cup was always full which was nice :-)

Perry’s Café off of Pacific Highway is my favorite breakfast spot EVER! If you love great home cooking &HUGE portions, you need to stop by! The only thing I disliked was you couldn’t do to go orders on weekends & holidays BUT now my problem is solved with this location in El Cajon. Here I can get the same amazing food for a steal of a price. It’s definitely worth my extra drive to bring home this deliciousness to my family! everyone I have brought to Perry’s Café, keeps coming back & bringing more friends. They have the BEST frittatas, Mexican and/or Zuchinni. I LOVEYOUPERRY’S CAFE!

Very average place. Good service by waitress. Ordered corn beef hash well cooked eggs scrambled. The kitchen burnt both, waitress set it down and offered to have it re done as the eggs had black burn marks on them pretty bad. Small coffee cup but that was not a problem as the waitress always made sure it was filled and hot. I get the impression regulars are treated very well. It is located next a motel said they do not recognize you they focus on being fast for you and talking and smoozing with the regulars. Ok place to grab some breakfast. I think they are much bigger on their frittata which I did not get.

Love trying new mom & pop type restaurants. Today was my first time here and it was very good. I ordered bacon and eggs & my friend ordered the ham steak & eggs. The ham was huge! The bacon was juicy and crispy. The wait time was short and the service was friendly. Dion took care of us and although she was busy she made sure we were well taken care of! Super sweet… made us feel right at home. The only thing that came up short was the potatoes. The hash browns had no taste. I even added cheese and onions to mine and they still tasted like water. But because of the service from our lovely waitress, the location, and the yummy bacon, we will definitely be back.

Cute little place in El Cajon. Came into Perry’s with some friends and family for brunch. We all really enjoyed our frittatas(a flat omelette). I had the spinach omelette which had a good amount of mushrooms, which I loved. I always add ketchup and cholula to my eggs– this was no exception. I think it’s the Mexican in me. It tasted even more marvelous. Others at my table enjoyed their food which included frittatas and a turkey avocado sandwich. I did manage to pick some fries from my sister– they were thin & crispy, just how I like them. Hash browns were good but could be a bit more cooked. Strawberry French toast was a complete hit with the kids at the table. I did notice you can ask for French toast and strawberries on the side– and they won’t have any of that syrupy stuff on them. Although we went during a somewhat busy time and had children in our table(which annoys some servers), our waitresses were really nice & attentive. Prices are very reasonable, and there is a good amount of food given– i finished a little more than half of my food and took some home, it served as a great lunch. Will definitely be returning, and definitely recommend!

First time here today, and I have to say it’s a 3, and a half stars for me. It’s good enough to make me want to come back, and try more of they’re dishes. I ordered the plain waffles with 2 eggs over easy, and 2 bacon strips. The waffle was toasted just right, the eggs were great, and am I picky when it comes to my eggs. No joke intended, but the bacon, as homer would put it «mmmmmmmm». Not too crispy nor burnt, but as you bite into it, it just breaks off like butter. Now that’s some bacon! They close at 2pm, so it would be best to arrive early, plenty of parking, and the price is fair.

Unilocal searched diners in El Cajon and Perry’s comes up for the top 3 in town. We stopped in before our golf round at Sycuan. Perfect breakfast spot if you’re in town. I don’t know about the neighborhood(looks a bit sketchy), but the food here was good. Top off ur tank with a nice hearty breakfast with affordable prices to boot. I had their weekday breakfast special: waffle, 2 bacon and 2 eggs($ 5.95). They have«canned» corned beef with is always awesome and very good diner-style coffee! The waitress and busy boy checked on us and refilled our coffees very often! Looked to be all locals dining in. Great service, nice waitress and hostess gal and delish food. They even had the morning’s World Cup game on.

2.5 stars Right off the bat, I’m taking off stars for the«hostess» that was working that day. We thought we had scored, as when we arrived, the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. No wait, tables clear, and no line at the hostess desk. We let a gentleman go ahead in front of us, and he approached the desk. The«hostess» was standing there with a stack of menus in her hand, talking to a couple who were clearly on their way out. The gentleman stood there for a second, then made the«give it to me!» motion with his hand, snagged a menu, then sat himself at one of the open tables. I figured he was a regular, and known there. We certainly aren’t regulars or known, so we waited for the hostess to wrap up her conversation to take us to a table. And we waited. And we waited. And we waited. And, just when I was about to turn on my heel and storm out, a waitress came out of the kitchen, welcomed us, and then took us to a table. Meanwhile, the hostess? She carried on with her conversation, not even glancing in our direction. I think you guys know I *hate* being ignored by people in the service industry, and this was even more frustrating because she made eye contact with me after the other guy snatched a menu from her. Anyway, aside from the rude hostess, the meal was okay. They have the same menu as the one in Old Town, though this location is much smaller. We were given coffee quickly, and our order was taken and delivered faster than I would have thought possible. I got the French Toast combo(eggs and bacon), and my husband got the Chilaquiles(they called it something different on the menu, but it’s basically the same thing). My breakfast was decent, not spectacular. I will say that the eggs were probably the best I’ve had in a while. I know that sounds strange, but they were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I would have given them a higher rating if not for the oblivious hostess. The food is cheap, and the service was quick and friendly. I think they do get busy — maybe not Old Town location busy — but there were people lining up as we were leaving, so it may be a good idea to show up earlier if you’re not feeling a wait.
