Okay, it’s not fancy but if you want a nice experience, this place will provide it. The staff are great, the food is fine(the steak is amazing), and the atmosphere is a nice little step back in time. I have never felt rushed, and the refills on coffee keep coming. Really a pleasant place to eat if you are in the mood for a solid meal in the company of good people.

I’ve been coming here for years. They have the best food and hands down best service. Bonnie herself is always so sweet and happy to everyone. I introduce all my friends to this place, and it becomes their addiction as well. Best biscuits and gravy

My friend and I dined here for breakfast today and it was bomb ! The food, service and coffee gave us an awesome meal. Our server Karen rocked. She is friendly, attentive and quick. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs with a biscuit and gravy. I know what a insanely high calorie meal this is. But the chicken fried steak that Bonny’s makes is worth every calorie. It’s so good! I ordered my meal with hash browns and they were only so so. If they were on point Bonny ‘s would deserve 5 stars for sure. Next time I will order home fries. Bonny’s is my favorite breakfast spot in EC.

Food was pretty good but could use a tad bit of seasoning. The prices are very reasonable for the portion size. We always ask for our hashbrowns extra crispy and they actually knew how to cook it — grill both sides people! Service was excellent and very attentive. When we got there early Sunday am not many people, but by the time we left it was packed. That’s always a good indicator of good food.

What a pleasant experience this place is. I had a dentist appointment across the street and left starving for breakfast. Whipped out my phone and Bonny’s came up being the closest and with a high rating, so naturally I had to try it out. I have to say, I love the décor. Old fashioned, 50s style diner with classic checkerboard tiling. As a matter of fact, I sat at the counter and noticed a familiar face who use to work at a restaurant in Santee I use to frequent as a kid, and she still remembered my name! Cindy was her name and she was all around the best one there! The food was top notch. I ordered a 5 oz Ham steak with eggs and home fries. I’m very particular about my home fries being soft and tender and these ones tasted scrumptious! The ham was delectable as ever and eggs, well, who can ruin sunny side up eggs? Not these fine folks! I definitely found our new breakfast treat whenever we’re in the area, couldn’t give this place a better review!

Not quite sure how they have so many stars. My experience did not warrant that many. Food was average but service could have been much better. After I got my food, I had to ask someone else for another cup of coffee about 20 minutes later. Good thing I had cash for the check because I basically left with no recognition I was ever there. Very disappointing.

I have been going to Bonnie’s for years and it definitely feels like a hometown environment. The food is homemade, and the service is basically really good — always keep your coffee cups filled. Bonnie makes her rounds around the tables to make sure you are happy with the food and service which is really nice and shows she cares for her customers. They provide«plenty» of food on your plate, usually more than you can eat. Thank you Bonnie for providing our community with a café where locals and guests can congregate and enjoy a great breakfast.

The place smells like old frying oil. I wasn’t sure if we should stay there and eat. I had the strangest waitress experience there. When the food came, the waitress put the plate on the table and slid it into me. I’ll never forget that one! I had a tuna sandwich. They put a tomato on both halves of the sandwich. It had a weird fruity taste and jell-like in consistency, so I took it off the sandwich and didn’t eat the tomato. After we left, a friend found a cockroach on the back of the top I was wearing. Yuck! The hostess was very nice, and they had a young man busing the tables. He was very courteous. I hope management reads this review.

The moment you walk in you’re automatically shot back to the mid 1900s. The atmosphere was outstanding. The waitress was doing a great job even when she had to work most of the tables. Service I give it a 8 out of 10. I ordered the 12oz stake, eggs, home fries, and biscuits with gravy. The stake lacked a bit of flavor and for medium rare it was some how a bit dry, but it was decent for the price. The potatoes were delicious, good amount of seasoning and cooked perfectly. The biscuits with gravy were perfect, the gravy was thick and creamy with not a over powering sausage flavor, the biscuits were soft and not hard. The eggs were good to go. My girlfriend didn’t have great luck. She ordered the strawberry banana waffle. The fruit and toppings were yummy, but the waffle was very dry but had a great flavor to it. She also had a side of poached eggs with A sausage patty which were both decent. Lots of choices on the menu, great coffee, and good atmosphere.

Unless you’re a regular here you’re going to be somewhat ignored. My husband and I visited for brunch. We sat for quite a while waiting for our waitress to finish chatting with another couple. She had several opportunities to break away from them to come take our order, but seemed like she’d rather keep the conversation going with them. The woman at the table was in direct view of us and she seemed to be trying to cut the conversation but the waitress kept going. There was only one waitress, it appeared. Anyway, eventually we ordered. I had a basic breakfast and my husband had lunch, can’t remember what he ordered. He said his was fine. Nothing spectacular. The same goes for mine. The place needs a makeover. I’m all for the nostalgia and quirky décor but this was dated and stale. Christmas decorations still up months later? Or are they that far ahead? They were pretty dusty. Thinking they were old. Yup.

I went here with a group of 22 work people for breakfast. We called ahead and they were ready for us when we arrived. Altough the tables were a tight fit, we got cozy and were able to make it work. The service was great and the waitress was friendly. The menu is large with lots of great options. I opted for the croissant breakfast sandwhich with a side of biscuits and gravy. Both were delicious and it was so much food I had to share. Some people ordered the Chicken enchilada omlette and it smelled and looked delicious. They raved about it and definitely recommend it when it is available. The coffee was hot and the orange juice was cold. We all got our food close to the same time which is a feat when you are serving 22 people plus other customers. Everyone’s food was hot and exactly how they ordered it. I would definitely go back here. it has a great little country breakfast feel to it and I love supporting non franchise places.

Use to come here a lot but they only took cash. Came here again on New Years day(not many places open). They now take cash and credit cards which makes it easy for people nowadays. Great people. food was great and they have specials like Denny’s, 2 bacon 2 pancakes and potatoes . Prices pretty good still. Will defiantly put this one on our list.

Started having breakfasts here a few months ago and this place is outstanding in every sense of the word. The breakfast I like is the Bacon/and or Sausage with eggs for around $ 8.00 and they give you alot of food, bacon, sausage, etc like no place in El Cajon. 5 huge bacon slices. For real early brids the $ 5.75 egg, bacon, pancakes is an awesome deal. Coffee around $ 1.75 with nonstop refills. The waitress staff is superb providing great severie from start to finish. Highly focused on you the customer in making sure you have a great dining experience. Very Professional and very friendly and nice upbeat style. Highly reccommend this place to all but they are only open 7 am to 2 pm so hurry. The atmosphere is spotless clean with real nice wall designs, atmosphere. Try this place and you will frequent it often it is very nice,
