Sherpa Steve Moving

Steve did a great job of moving our furniture at a very reasonable price. He even got a piece of furniture into one of the bedrooms that the store delivery people said couldn’t be done! Highly recommend him!

NO SHOW NO CALL
Last Thursday, 10÷22÷15 I called and spoke with Steve to set up a move time for that weekend. Because of his full schedule, we decided on Monday 10/​26/​2015 at 8am. After establishing a start time and ensuring me that all was set and ready to go, Steve no showed on me.
I was left to sit and wait and wait until eventually giving up. I phoned Steve 10 minutes before his arrival time, 10 minutes after his arrival time and finally 30 minutes after his arrival time… I have yet to hear back from him.
Steve sounded reliable and capable and yet he left me sitting, waiting, with all of my belongings in boxes and no one to turn to. I explained to him that this was a «break up» move and ideally I wanted to have everything out of the home by noon. He was so kind on the phone, I never dreamed I would be left hanging like a chump. I decided not to use someone cheaper, like on Craigslist because of his Unilocal reviews, however, he left me hanging high and dry in what was already an emotionally difficult situation.
Since I have yet to hear back from him, I hope nothing fatal happened to him. However, even a simple phone call to let me know he wasn’t going to make it would have been the right thing to do.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
REPLY to Steve: No mistake on the company, we spoke for over 15 minutes and Steve assured me I had nothing to worry about, that he would call to confirm Sunday and I’d see him at 8am on Monday, October 26^th. It’s in the past now, but I did not mistake the company, nor do I leave negative reviews on family owned businesses just for fun. Sherpa Steve left me in a hell of a spot when I was counting on professional movers.
REPLY to Steve 2^nd Comment: Thank you for the elaborate definition of what confirmation means, and the condescending tone of referring to me as «dear». That being said, Steve, you told me that YOU WOULD CALL ME on Sunday. You then ended the conversation saying we were all set for Monday at 8am and to not worry about a thing. I left a message on Sunday for you, and again on Monday 20 minutes before your arrival time. Following that, three additional messages were left until it was clear you were a no show. That being said, no hard feelings, MOVERS ON THE MOVE saved me from the jam I was in. Funny, how I didn’t hear from you/​no return to phone calls & messages until I shared this experience on Unilocal. I do appreciate you (kind of) taking responsibility, as that was a horrible experience in what was already a tough situation. Best of luck…

Absolutely the best. Steve went over and above expectations, price was very reasonable.

Honest and trustworthy. Two words that are nonexistent in customer service today. Moving can be a very personal task. After all, someone has access to all of your «stuff.» If you’ve ever experienced a bad move then and only then will you know the value of a great move. My experience with Sherpa Steve was beyond great (and I never physically met the dude). Sherpa Steve handled a sensitive situation with the skill and finesse of a neurosurgeon. If people and business were as responsible and caring as Sherpa Steve, the world would be a better place. Yes, he is that good! Thank you Sherpa Steve and your colleagues. I hope we meet in person one day. I owe you two.

Sherpa Steve and his crew did a great job with my move! Not only did he quote us a great price but they moved us fast and efficient. With Steve, you are dealing with the owner so he takes great pride in what he does and it shows. He loves what he does! If we had an issue with our move, we wouldn’t doubt that Steve would bend over backwards to make things right. I would definitely highly recommend him for your next move.

Steve is a hard worker. He has moved my family twice. Once to storage, the other out of town.
He is quick and knows what he is doing. I found him through Unilocal and have not been disappointed.

Just finished my move yesterday and my experience with Steve and his crew was awesome! From the beginning, contacting Steve, his customer service was exceptional and offered/​followed thru with bringing me boxes ahead of time all the way from El Cajon to solana beach. On moving day, his crew came in like a tornado and did everything! I wasn’t even fully packed up. I wasn’t really sure what to expect but they took care of EVERYTHING, moved it, and put it all back together in one piece! Nothing broken, extremely professional and courteous. I will absolutely use them again and recommend them to anyone who wants to make their moving experience enjoyable!!!

Overwhelming impressed with Sherpa Steve!!! He went above and beyond on every level. Not only did he stick to our agreement even when it was clear I had far too much stuff for him to get the job done in the estimated time, he managed to pack all of my belongings into a storage space that should never have been able to hold everything! I cannot say enough good things about him. I hired him based off his excellent Unilocal reviews, and was a little concerned that maybe they were padded– they absolutely aren’t! He really is this good! I will go with him for every move I have to make.

Sherpa Steve, IS the best moving service for the money. We recently moved on 4^th of July, and we were up first. Himself and his coworker Randy together for the job done for moving a one bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom house. They provided the largest UHaul truck available and practically wasn’t even necessary for our size move. They even had tons of moving blankets. They provided wardrobe boxes to accommodate clothes that were hung in the closet. Steve was even soooo generous enough to HANG THEM BACK UP. They are very helpful and like to have a couple laughs in between their work. The customer service was beyond excellent. He stated «we are not finished until you are happy with everything», which gave my wife and I great reassurance that we weren’t going to rush our move. I highly recommend Steve, I assume if you live in a bigger home than my family and I, I’m sure he would bring more than himself and Randy. The price was fair to the service, I won’t mention how much to keep his prices competitive, but I did leave him quite a tip enough to fill up his truck and buy a couple beers if he wanted. Thank you Sherpa Steve! I hope you are still in business when we decide to move again.

I had the pleasure of hiring Steve and his crew over the weekend. It was a last minute move to get into our new place and I was very impressed by his operation. He and his crew were very friendly, asked lots of questions to make sure everything would go smoothly, and did it efficiently. He offered his services at a great price and I don’t think you could get better service for twice the price. I would use them again without a doubt. Thanks again for the quality service at a reasonable price.

I was skeptical about looking for my own movers because I’m use to them being given to me. When I did my trusty Unilocaling I find Steve and his guys to be close to my residence and they were very intuitive on how to pack my belongings and unload them. At the end of the move of a 3 bed 3 bath, storage and bbq pit, I must say I’m am not the slightest dis satisfied. I’m grateful and appreciative of the hard work these guys put in. Thank you Steve, I’ll be using you on any of my moves or furniture quests while in San Diego.

Steve and Randy were amazing! Very thorough, very professional, and extremely nice! This was, hands down, the best moving experience we have ever had! If I could give 6 stars, I would! You will not be disappointed. When we move again, Sherpa Steve is first on our list!

Where do I begin? Remember the good olé days where you could find an honest contractor, at a fair price who was going to get the job done as you expected? Honestly, those contractors are few and far between nowadays. But, not with Sherpa Steve. This post is not meant to sound like a sales pitch. Sherpa Steve doesn’t need to sell you. He simply gives you a fair price, outlines what he needs to do and does it… and fast… and efficient. I was in a bind with a recent home move where the banks were stringing us along for weeks. It was impossible to reserve a storage unit, take off work and book a mover. I had two movers require huge deposits. I had another mover tell me I was good to go, only to call me two days later and tell me he had to give my spot to someone else. I researched local movers and up came Sherpa Steve. He took my call at 10pm on a Sunday and was there a day later walking my house to give me a price.
Days later he showed up on time, with his trucks, suppliers and two guys who were ready to work. The crew did it fast. They did it efficiently and they filled a 26′ box truck like it was a detailed math equation. It would’ve taken me two trucks. But not with Sherpa Steve and crew. Not only did Sherpa Steve buzz through my house carrying couches on his back down a flight of stairs, but Steve also took 10+ big pots with plants inside them to a separate location from the storage unit. Steve’s willingness to just «do the work,» rather than look for ways to gouge a buyer, is old school, respectable and proves he is a true class-​act.
To make it even better, Steve took out the calculator at the end and his price blew me away. Honesty wouldn’t even begin to explain it. It was such a good price I thought it was wrong.
Two days later, as I was leaving my home I realized there was 4 – 5 more small items that wouldn’t fit in my trash. In an attempt to not piss off the new owners of the home, I asked Steve to come by one more time for a quick pickup and he didn’t hesitate to say yes. Disaster avoided.
I don’t have to sell you and I don’t need to sell Sherpa Steve. Trust me his work speaks for itself. There aren’t enough stars on this review to express my true appreciation for Steve’s work. Thanks Steve! Oh also, Steve is a helluva a conversation. Makes the dregs of moving all the more easy.

If you need to move, these are your people! Kind, considerate, efficient, hard working, and reasonably priced! I can honestly say Steve has changed my mind about moving. This man and his crew make moving so effortless is almost enjoyable! I recommend them to everyone I know. Trust me, you can’t go wrong with Steve. Also, he found me the most amazing couch and delivered it for nothing! Such an awesome guy. And his wife Elaine is incredible as well. Tell them Jonnie sent you! ;)

I was lucky enough to be referred to Sherpa Steve from another moving company… and I’m glad I called! I needed help getting my couch up a flight of stairs and into a door that «it would not fit through» according to another delivery company. Steve and friend showed up promptly and did the impossible with a great attitude and affordable price.

When moving, things can sometimes break. It happens. While a lot of moving companies will either try to hide it, or not take responsibility… Sherpa steve did not do that. When my TV Stand broke during the move, he quickly told me and already had his wife on the hunt for a replacement one. When it arrived he came to my house and put it on for me. No extra cost. Now that’s what I call great customer service!
Anytime I need to move anything in the area, I will be calling him.

I contacted Steve after I found his ad on Craigslist, he truly seemed like the nicest one to contact. I needed all my outside plants moved to my new place, I sent him pictures of what I was up against and told him I couldn’t afford a lot and could he give me a ballpark estimate.
We talked on the phone, set up the most incredibly kind price and set the day. He showed up in full force U-​Haul truck, helper and all.
Plants were moved with no problem!!!

Steve and his crew did an incredible job! Crazy good price and very fast. Everything was taken excellent care of and Steve double checks everything. They all make sure your belongings and your house are moved without a scratch! They have been around the block and are always helping with suggestions and making sure you don’t forget anything. No work is too small or too big! Love that I can call Steve and he will come out same day if he is available and find a way to fit you in! Super easy going and always felt safe and secure. Loved the personal feel they all brought and will always do any moving with him from small to large. Not a bad thing to say at all! They turned out nightmare of a move into a blessing in disguise! We hired Steve to help us move from our 4 bedroom home, into a 3 bedroom (2 story) home in Scripps. Steve showed up with two additional movers, and they had us all moved in by the end of the day. Steve and his movers were loading boxes before I even had to ask. The entire team followed instructions and remained optimistic the entire day, which made the move a lot less stressful. My partner and I will never call another mover again, because we were so pleased with Sherpa Steve!
