We are a hair salon and barber shop. We are a full service hair salon and we specialize in Haircuts, Hair Color, Perm, Highlights, Extensions, Threading (eyebrows, cheeks, and upper lip), Facials, Style, & Brazilian Keratin Treatment. We also shampoo and condition our clients. We offer our service to everyone — men, women, and children.

History

Established in 2014.

Sam’s hobby and love as a hairdresser started in 1984. Sam left from Ninawa, Iraq to travel throughout Europe before moving to El Cajon, CA in January of 2005. He pursued an education in California Hair Design in La Mesa in 2008 and got his license in 2009. Sam was previously training in Rancho San Diego and El Cajon. Now, he is at United Hair Salon at 983 Broadway in El Cajon.

Sam’s loyal clients enjoy fabulous hairstyles and a great overall experience because of Sam’s dedication to his work.

Sam is a dedicated professional to his craft. He loves his work by making people happy. He is a family man with a teacher-​pursuing wife and three boys that are in grade school and high school.



Sam moved to El Cajon in January 2005. Prior to that his family traveled throughout Europe following a move from Ninawa, Iraq.

So glad we found Sam! We had been going to our hairdresser for over 30 years. He had to retire so the search began for a new person. My elderly mother and I went to Sam based solely on Unilocal reviews. So glad we did! He did a beautiful job for both of us which included highlights and all-​over color. Sam is the best hairdresser I have found! I travel around a lot and was in need of a haircut, but I waited 7 months until I was back in town again. Why? Because he takes time on your hair, listens to you, and provides a relaxing environment. He has always been able to fit me into an appointment and I come out with super expensive salon looks at a very reasonable price. Would recommend him for hair dyeing, hair treatment, haircut, and styling!

I don’t understand all the 5-​star reviews from women. The haircut was okay, not exactly what I asked for, but not the worst I’ve ever had. The styling was horrendous. My hair is short and I repeatedly told him I didn’t want it to look masculine. He gave me an Elvis hair helmet that was so severe and unattractive I almost cried. When I told him I didn’t like it, he kept spraying it with more and more hairspray, which only made it worse. I think this shop might be better for men’s hair. There was a good bit of discussion pre-​shampoo about what kind of Unilocal review I was going to give him. I told him I’d decide after the cut, so here I am. Elvis left the building unhappy and won’t be back.
Edit (two days later): OMG. The guy just called me at home wanting me to change my review because my hair is fine and difficult to cut. I have no idea how he got my phone number, but I am thoroughly creeped out and upset.

Absolutely loved what Sam did to my hair! I was nervous going in because it was a new stylist and used to my old stylist but couldn’t make the two hour drive! Sam is amazing! Not to mention his extraordinary skills. I went in as a walk in, welcomed me with open arms, made me feel at home! Given the fact that I went lighter (I was nervous at first), my hair didn’t get damaged. He took his time and even though my hair wasn’t done by the time he closed, he didn’t rush the process. I love my hair and everyone has given me many compliments. He’s a real sweetheart and certainly the best hair stylist I’ve encountered!
