Great service if you ONLY want tires done. Don’t expect them to do anything other than just replace tires. Sales people were VERY friendly and helpful.

Came in unknowingly 5 minutes before closing with a screw in a tire. Not only were they MORE than accommodating and quick, there was NO CHARGE for the repair! I’ll be back for sure. Fantastic job fellas.

Mike E nailed it on the rim issue… I have been a DT customer for years. It was kinda of funny the last time I was in there, and the associate was trying to find the particular vehicle I brought in, in the list of cars under my name and he went through 30 some cars. The people at the counter next to us asked me if there were any cars I didn’t have… ;)
Yea, people are amazed that they’re hustling and bustling because there is a 2, 3, or more hour backlog particularly on a Saturday, but in that haste, they damage rims. On my daily drivers or work vehicles, I don’t care as much. But on my pristine, mint quality vehicles, I do! Even when put on the service order «BE CAREFUL WITH RIMS!» I still get back to my garage (across the street from this DT in Elgin), only to find scratches and scuffs that I can’t fix without having the rim (s) completely redone. One set in particular is an expensive special Holden set that I had shipped halfway across the globe from Australia! The rims had more shipping mileage on them than the car they went on!
Another set, was a brand new set of wheels from GM that I had just recently put on the vehicle. These wheels get wiped down after each time driving and are polished weekly, so I’m pretty abreast of the condition of them. At the beginning of the season, I had a puncture in one tire which was not fixable, and in order to get a replacement so I could drive over the weekend, I was forced to go to DT. Otherwise I would’ve had to wait a week from Tire Rack. Specifically on the work order «BE CAREFUL WITH RIMS», only to have scratch marks in the bolt holes. They’ll argue that’s inevitable. Funny how I can R&R my wheels (which I do all the time), and my ¾″ socket, on my impact wrench, never seems to make contact with those bolt holes. Maybe that’s because I take my time and I’m careful! I just break them loose with the impact, then manually unthread the lug while maintaining pressure on the wheel so it doesn’t flop loose once the last lug is removed.
Their prices are competitive with Tire Rack if you include the shipping for Tire Rack. But it seems as though the tire I want, they never have enough of or at all.
I’m not saying they’re bad, I have them as A-​Ok, but if you have a nice set of rims, watch them. That hustle and bustle does come at a price.

Been here a few times including today as always they did a great job. Great service at a great price.

I am BEYOND amazed at how fast these guys fixed my dad’s truck today! He randomly got a flat tire while driving to a job and managed to limp his work truck into this Discount Tire Store. The employees were kind and hustled to patch his flat and get him on the road within 30 minutes. He made it to his next job on time. When my dad needs tires I know where he’s going. Great work guys!

I’ve used Discount Tire on several occasions. Today I went in there to get a tire rotation (on tires that I didn’t get from them). I also brought my ATV tire in to get fixed (also not purchased from them) and they got that done too. When completed, I expected to see a bill, and they said it was no charge. I couldn’t believe it! They gave me great service, quick and didn’t even charge for it. That is unheard of these days! Thanks Discount Tire!

Wonderful place very clean. I called ahead as other reviewers suggested, spoke to Drew who very helpful. I showed up on time and car was on the lift 5 mins after I got there. I was only there for a rotation so it only took a few mins and they got me back on the road. Easy in and out. I will be back when it’s time to buy tires.

Other than the 3 hour wait after I came back so I did not have to wait, was happy with their prices and installation.
They have a lifetime balance and rotation policy that we will take advantage of and there is plenty within walking distance to do while you wait.
If how busy they were is any indication, they are the place to go. Beat others as i called around on our very odd sized tires by about $ 100, apples to apples.
I would recommend.

What I love about this place the most is every single employee is running around and hustling. That to me shows their efforts in servicing the customer quickly and getting the outdoor as quickly as possible.

I have been a customer of Discount Tire for years, as has my family. I am always impressed — really impressed — at the service I’ve received from them, as well as the fair prices. They really keep «old school» service alive, which is hard to find these days, plus they will match prices as well. I’ve personally bought at least 4 sets of tires there, plus snow tires, and will continue to give them my business as long as they are around!

I have spent thousands of dollars at this DT location over the course of at least the last ten years, not only purchasing all of my tires here for my boat, RVs, cars, and trucks, but I’ve also allowed them to do my routine maintenance for that duration of time as well. I drive between 80,000 & 120,000 miles per year, so I’ve really gotten to know these guys over the years. I have never once had a problem here or a single gripe– they’ve always been great, you simply cannot go wrong with them! By the way, Chris, ‘Mr Mopar,’ is awesome and KNOWS what quality customer service is!

I ran over a screw a few days ago and went took my tire into the ford dealer to have it repaired. They took a quick glance at it and said it wasn’t fixable. I called discount tire just to get an estimate price and they quoted me a lower price but told me they may be able to fix my tire at no charge. At first they said it looked like it might not be fixable, but they took the tire off and, after looking inside, they felt good about patching it up… FREE!!! They saved me $ 170! Very very helpful, nice people.

I purchased a set of Michelin truck tires for my new Dodge Ram pickup as the OEM tires were loud and did not ride well and were wearing badly. Mike the manager researched an all season tire and came up with the Michelin’s. We made an appointment and were in and out in 1 hour as promised… We had a flat 3 weeks later and I talked to Adam and he said bring it in. I came in waited 42 minutes and they REPLACED the tire as the puncture was in the sidewall! No questions asked and I was back on the road. That is true customer service on a $ 279.00 tire! Thanks again Discount Tires and Mike, Adam and the rest of the team. By the way this is my 11^th set of tires, as I purchased a set of Michelins for my daughter’s 2013 Chevy Cruze 2 weeks earlier. We really believe int his company because of their strong customer service!!!

This place is great! Everyone is very friendly. Waiting in line I heard a wait time of 2 – 3 hours and started to worry. I got up to the counter and heard 45 mins. — an hour! Bam!!! Make an appointment! Makes all the difference. Also, they just didn’t offer water, they walked around and brought water and chocolate treats to everyone in the waiting room. Awesome customer service!!!

I’ve had nothing but poor experiences with this place. Went in a few months ago to buy new tires. I knew exactly what I wanted, and they were not cheap at $ 900 for the set. I told the guy at the counter what it wanted and he told me they only had three in stock but he could get me a different, more expensive tire right then. I declined and he said he would have the fourth within three hours, but to be safe, he told me to come back in four. I gave him all my information and paid for them then. When I came back in four hours, it was still not ready. «A few more hours,» he said. Why couldn’t he have called me so I didn’t waste my time driving all the way over there? I went somewhere else to occupy my time and came back when he told me to. This time, the tires were actually there but they were crowded so I’d have to wait again before they could start working. Finally when my tires were done, he gave me my keys and asked me to pay again. I told him I already paid and had to show him the receipt to prove to him that I didn’t owe anything.
A few days ago, I was ready to come back for my FREE tire rotation. What a great deal, right? I called them that morning to ask if I should make an appointment. They said no need, so I went in later that afternoon. The guy at the counter then told me it’d be an hour and a half til they could get my car in. I told him I didn’t want to wait, that’s why I asked if I should make an appointment. I asked again if I could make one, seeing as how I apparently did need one in spite of what they told me. He put up a fight, trying to get me to come in the next day without an appointment, but finally gave me an appointment for several days later at 5pm.
I arrived at 5 on the dot and told the guy at the counter that I had an appointment. He said it would be 25 – 30 min til my car was ready. 30 minutes later, they finally pulled my car into the garage. It’s been 40 minutes since I was told 25−30min and I am still waiting. No apologies from anyone throughout any of my very poor experiences here.
I will not be returning to discount tire again and I recommend that you do the same.
UPDATE: In total, it took an hour. I was told 25 – 30 minutes.

Not always the lowest price unless you price check. Two of my rims were damaged, they stated first it was curb rash, then after I explained what curb rash is they changed their tune. It then was blamed on the weight clamp they put on the tire. Yes quick service comes with a cost of damaged rims

For reviews of places like this that are not by where I live, I ask myself what I would want to know if I was in this town and had some sort of tire emergency. That said, I rolled in, they checked the damaged tire and confirmed that it needed to go, they got one of the same make as I already had and did not try to oversell me a pair. I read their magazines, got on the road 90 minutes later, and paid the right price for the tire I bought.
I am not trying to make buying an emergency tire seem like an exciting transcendent experience, but it was a fair and satisfying given that this was not a planned purchase.

Can’t think of any negatives. I have always priced tires before I buy and they are always in line. Great quick service as well. Just took my wife’s car in for a leaky tire. Turns out there was a nail in one and a leaking seal around the rim of another tire. They fixed both, rotated and charged me ZERO because I bought the tires there (about two years ago). I will certainly return there with my car before winter for 4 new ones.
