Belvedere Events & Banquets

Thanks to Lorna and all the Belvedere staff for making the wedding ceremony of our daughter and new son-​in-​law so special! It couldn’t have been more perfect. Food (jalapeño– wrapped chicken appetizer was a hit!), drink (never had to wait even with 250 guests!), service (more than enough staff to go around!), and ambience (mood lighting and lots of candles!) were all great. The lobby, ceremony room and reception room were so beautiful inside, lending to great photo opportunities. Having such a beautiful bridal suite was fantastic! Thanks to Lorna for recommending Chip, the DJ from Enchanted Evenings. He was unbelievably great and the dance floor was always packed! And a special thanks for Lorna herself — so patient, with great ideas, and an air of calm on a crazy day! So accommodating, knowledgeable and flexible — much appreciated!

Thank you all at Belvedere! We had our 50^th High School Reunion last Saturday. Everything was MAGNIFICENT! We had a small glitch. POOF due the to our friend LORNA PASSAGLIA and it was solved. If you wanted anything ask the staff. The food was great! Our mixologist Tom was fabulous. We wanted to stay an extra half hour. No problem!!!

The staff here is very unprofessional and rude. I would never recommend anyone to have an event here.

What a great place for a wedding reception! Lorna was great at helping us plan our special day and made sure everything was perfect. She went above and beyond for us. Dinner was great, the cocktails were amazing and the late night snack did not disappoint.

I was extremely satisfied with the service and luncheon catering for an office party. The food is excellent. The dedicated delivery people were prompt and polite, and got the food on time in a quick manner. No complaints here.

Attended the Doug Buffone roast on Friday. Very classy venue first time here.
The filet was awesome along with the service, drinks… Would recommend to anyone looking for a great banquet for any special occasion.
Enjoyed the whole evening. Tom your an awesome host, and should be proud of your whole staff. great job!

I recently hosted my daughter’s first birthday at Belvedere.
Wow! What an awesome venue! As soon as you walk in the foyer is a stunning welcome to any guest. It has a light, airy feel with winding staircases and a beautiful, modern fountain.
One of the staff met us in the foyer and showed us to our event space.
The venue is just beautiful and from start to finish the staff was awesome! Anything we needed was taken care of immediately.
The room we booked was spacious, with wonderfully high ceilings and marbled details on the pillars.
The food was beautifully displayed for our guests in a buffet style.
I had such a positive experience and would recommend this venue highly to anyone for their event!

Illinois’ Most Requested Magician

I had my wedding here back in March 2013. We worked with Orla and she was fantastic. The venue was beautiful and the food was great. All my guests complimented the Belvedere. The look was so classy and the foyer was beautiful. Orla was the absolute BEST! She had such patience with me and when it came time to walk down the aisle she made sure everyone was on cue. She was constantly checking on our family and guests throughout the event. Thank you Belvedere for making our wedding so wonderful.

Sorry this is a bit late. Anyways we had our August wedding here and it was the wedding of our dreams! The staff are so easy to work with, so nice and accommodating to any request we had. We worked with Jodi– if you book your wedding here, ask for her! She would respond to my emails immediately and was so helpful with every detail I would ask her about. «Jodi, can we have your servers holding champagne bottles with sparklers when we walk in for our entrance?» Like any response of hers, it was «Of course!». She really made wedding planning easy and fun.
We did a food tasting before we booked (we had to be certain that our guests were going to have a good meal), and that also blew us away. Wine was great, loved the salad and the pasta, and the three entries we chose for our guests were each amazing! If there was a tiny detail we wanted to change with the menu– Jodi once again said no problem. For instance, we wanted our filets prepared a different way then the menu had it done. Not a problem! On the actual wedding day, I barely ate of course lol. But from the bits I had I was definitely pleased. Sweets table was worth every penny– everyone loved it! Cake was from Oak Mill Bakery (my family has been getting cakes from there for a while– the best!)
The hall itself is ultra modern and very different– our style is very similar, so this was also a big reason we loved it here.
The lobby is huge and open with a gorgeous fountain. The actual hall is also big– ours had two bars, huge windows as the backdrop for the head table, an outdoor patio area for the smokers, and a staircase connecting to the private bridal suite. To fit our modern vibe, we mixed in a few rectangle tables among the circles. «Jodi, can we do a feasting table for our head table instead of the traditional ones people do?» Once again– «of course!» Our table was a long rectangle that seated every member of the party plus their dates/​significant others. Def different and more fun!
Btw, we used Yanni for our flowers/​décor (see his review for belvedere too). His company is the best! Recommended by Jodi.
There are SO many more things I would love to say about our experience working with the belvedere & the staff there, and how amazing our actual wedding was. These were just some of the highlights :)

Went here for a wedding in early December on a Friday evening and was VERY impressed.
The exterior leaves a little to be desired but the inside and food really made this place stand out.
1. Interior is a fun and sleek with a little fountain pool and winding stair cases.
2. Food was really yummy, I loved the salad and tomato soup. The tenderloin was a hair overdone for my taste.
3. Service was great, all around the bar tenders and servers were very attentive and happy.
4. Dance floor was located in the middle, which was nice for everyone there.
I would think if you are looking for a venue in the area, this should be on your list!

I was invited here for a private event one of my friends company’s were throwing. It was a very nice venue! I really liked all the simple and elegant décor. It was a very nice room we were in that would probably be comfortable for about 150 or so guests. You have the ability to open up the venue for more guests, but I am not sure what the would look like or hold, since we were just in I believe ¼ of the venue. The food was kind of strange, they had some kind of pasta bar that smelled like fajitas and made the whole place kind of smokey. It was a fun idea, but they would need to install some kind of ventilation in order to make it a truly viable option. Other than that, I would recommend this space for parties or weddings in a heartbeat!

This is my 3 – 4 time there and I have never had a good meal yet. This time the food was cool, the pork roast so chewy and dry it was hard swallowing it. The cream of chicken soup was good and hot but after that the dinner was terrible. The salad was mushy, with only one dressing offered, the twiced baked potatoes were so tepid the butter didn’t melt. The side vegetables were also over cooked and the waiter never poured us wine til ²⁄₃ thru the meal when I finally caught his attention and said we didn’t get wine yet. Also their liquor was poor quality and the drinks were poorly made. They never cleared the table after dinner and there was glasses and coffee cups every where. I cringe everytime I get an invite there.

Came here for a bridal expo. It was beautiful! I can’t give any real information on the prices of booking & what not but the inside was beeeautiful! It is located in a really weird area to where you would not expect the place to be as big as it is but worth checking it out.

My partner and I are having our commitment wedding reception at Belvedere Banquets this January! We have been working with Jodi so far and the experience has been amazing. I am in the hospitality industry so finding that «right» venue was extremely important to me and my fiancé. Communication with Jodi is professional and very very quick. You email the staff and within minutes (yes…minutes) they respond to you politely and professionally!
We can not wait to enjoy the remaining several months working with the Belvedere Staff! We are so excited for the big day!

The Belvedere was great! My review is solely based upon the NYE event a large group of us attended.
The Belvedere is gorgeous and very large. The foyer was beautiful and we took advantage by using it as our photo opt area. There was a dessert table and small appetizers at the beginning of the night; both options were simple yet tasty. There were several bars open, so there was rarely a wait for a drink. The DJ was great from what I remember… =P

This is not a venue I’d recommend for weddings.
I was considering Belvedere for my wedding. I live in San Francisco, so in order to plan my wedding from afar, I’ve relied heavily on the venue websites and pictures. The thing that attracted me to Belvedere were several pictures on their website of a tent like structure next to a lake. I phoned their wedding planner, describing the pictures I saw and she did not correct me. I don’t think she’s even been to their website to know what I meant. As it turns out, Unilocalers, this «tent-​like atrium» does not even exist at Belvedere. This picture that cycles through on their front page is not even of one of the venues available at Belvedere. I made several appointments to various venues in the Chicago area, including Belvedere, and flew from San Francisco to see them in person. I also scheduled a tasting at Belvedere, more about the food later.
When I arrived at Belvedere, I inquired about the atrium next to the lake and the wedding coordinator just looked at me with a blank look on her face. «Atrium? We don’t have an Atrium.»
Me — «What? I saw several pictures on your website, and I described it to one of your staff.»
WC — «I don’t know what you mean, can you show me the picture?»
I rifled through her picture album and pointed out the pictures.
She saw the pictures and said very dismissively, «Oh, those. That’s not one of our venues, that’s just a place we catered once.» Lovely. It would have been nice if they specified that on the website or even if the staff on the phone had said that they don’t have a lake or a building with tented windows. Funny enough, those pictures don’t even highlight the food, but show the whole room. They even have an outside shot, with the lake in the background.
False advertising.
We even flew in early for this appointment. And we paid for a private tasting. Horrible food. What a waste of time.
To top it all off, the wedding coordinator did not handle the mix up well; she’s young, flighty, inexperienced and still made us pay for the tasting, after all of that. I should also mention that the banquet hall is located in a strip mall.

I was here attending a wedding on Friday night. The décor was GORGEOUS and I loved the fountain out front. The inner ballroom was really nice as well.
The food was… um, not great in my opinion. To be honest, I was «sick» the whole rest of the evening and into the next day due to the food. I am fairly certain it was the salmon bruchetta I sampled because, I was the only one out of my little inner circle who tried it and the only one who got sick that I know of.
I did like that you got a choice of three options – one was chicken, another was prime rib, and the last was eggplant parmesan. I got the chicken and my husband got the prime rib. He could only eat half because the rest was too fatty (and he is NOT a picky eater) and my chicken was very dry.
I did like the salad, especially the dressing, and the soup was ok as well. However, after getting physically ill from the food, I didn’t appreciate the bartender’s comments in the common area when I needed to pass by «bathroom again??». Yeah it’s nunya… as in Nunya Business… jerk…

Still one of my favorite venues for a wedding reception. Just went this weekend for a wedding, followed by a banquet brunch the next day.
Amazing staff & service!
Unique in-​lobby coffee & martini bar!
Great coffee! Food is delish.
Fireplace, courtyard, fountain.
Clean hall, well maintained, tasteful décor.
This place delivers again and again.

We attended a wedding banquet here and I noted some pluses and minuses as a guest. The pluses were:
* An army of staff to efficiently and promptly deliver hors d’oeuvres and dinner, and the associated table service
* Quick and efficient service at the open bar
* Large reception area and banquet rooms that are claimed to be able to handle a party of 1000, and I can believe it
* Plenty of parking
The minuses were:
* Though the place has only been around since 2004, it looks and feels a bit older
* The much more popular roast beef dinner was overdone on the beef which was dry and tough. The chicken and mushroom dinner was much better.
Overall, felt like 3 stars, and it was a decent banquet and venue. I’m told the base wedding rate is $ 64 pp.
