We are a working horse ranch that offers guided horseback rides in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. We offer trail rides to riders of any riding experience, including those who have never ridden. Our trails include rides through mixed Appalachian forest and high mountain meadows.

History

Established in 2014.

In 2014 Chris and Karla brought back Mountaintop Ranch’s trail rides. Mountaintop Ranch has a rich heritage as a working Quarter Horse ranch. The Ranch is set in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia’s scenic Shenandoah Valley. Visitors return year after year never tiring of the scenic views that we have to offer.

This facility has sturdy, well behaved horses. Their training is excellent and I am not hesitant to recommend this trail ride venue. The family that runs it are delightful and will make you feel very welcome. The views are awesome. I can’t wait to go again.

A friend of mine her 8yr old sister and I visited there today. We had such a good time! They try and match a horse for the rider which i thought they did very well with. The staff was super nice. And it was family run which i really liked. We went on the 360 meadow view ride. Its was $ 55 for that ride. At first i thought it was a little pricey for an hour ride. But it was worth every penny. Im planning to book the sunset ride for me and my bf soon

My girlfriend and I went on the «Sound of Music» guided trail today and it was absolutely beautiful. The people who worked there were very friendly and our guide was great! We are both beginners and he helped us a lot. If you want a truly beautiful view of the area, go here! Only thing is that it’s pretty far from everything but it’s worth it

What views, and what a ride! This is a family — run operation that really knew how to make us feel like we were in great hands! Neither me nor husband are great riders, but during our stay at Massanutten we kept hearing how great the Mills’ are, and boy were they right. So friendly, helpful, and attentive. .and the views on this ride are unbelievable! We will definitely be coming back!
