Robert Pickerill is the owner and operator of Next Generation Auto. He comes from a family of mechanics. His Grandfather was a mechanic for Chrysler in the 40’s and started his own business in 1956. Ever since then the Pickerill family has been «turning wrenches» and are true automotive enthusiasts.

Robert has a sheer passion for the Automotive Industry, so much so that when he was 11 years old he achieved 2nd place in «Chitown Engine Teardown Competition». He went on to study Mechanical Engineering at the College of DuPage.

Since his inception in January of 2009, Robert has done a stellar job to establish himself and his business in the community. With Next Generation Auto’s strong commitment to providing exceptional, fair and speedy service, customer’s immediately become Next Generation Auto life long clients. I have 5 cars in my family, that I bring to BOB and his group. I have been bringing these cars from about 3 years now. They are fair and honest and I trust everything they do and say about my cars. I’m glad my daughter recommended them they were a great find I recommend them. And their group of men that are very polite and friendly. It is very hard to find mechanics you can trust and these are the guys you can trust. Next generation.

Bob and his crew are the best and are my go to for any of my car issues.

Bob at next gen and the other mechanics were awesome. Very knowledgeable of my LSX motor in my GTO. Bob installed my new BC coilovers, and a bunch of poly bushings. Finally a place that knows their stuff with performance cars and their affordable? I will only go here from now on. Have appointment tomorrow to have more suspension upgrades!

My go to mechanic for years. Bob and his crew are good people who shoot straight and look out for their customers. They see you as a lifelong client not a quick buck. They have done everything from basic services like oil changes to complex repairs and even small body work. All for a great price. Highly recommend them for all things auto repair and service.

Thought I would reiterate a past Unilocal on this relocated business. Very true about the work done here, and the ability to work through automotive issues on even the most archaic cars. They also do a wonderful job about getting people in on short notice and because of that I am holding this review at 4 stars, still.
But, any great business can always do more: and if improvement is needed it may be a very simple thing, such as, returning phone calls when you say you will. Frankly, when someone is waiting for their car; it’s like you’re lost without it. And on two occasions, though a call was promised that evening, none came.
Taking a business owner at their word is a trust thing: it goes both ways. Hopefully, they will keep doing great repairs, and perhaps consider working on this one fine point, because communication is crucial.

Phenomenal auto place to work with. These guys work on my cars for about four years and always did a great job. They actually told me where I didn’t need work done and also advise me what I realistically should get done and did it honestly. I am just really mad that my wife and I moved and I now need to find a great reliable mechanic again.
I am also kind of a car nut, so many times I would buy my own high-​quality parts and they would still install them. Many places just want to upsell you cheaper parts and make profit on it but these guys really work with you and did a great job.

After reading about this place on FB, I asked a friend about it and was definitely steered in the right direction! My mom’s van needed some SERIOUS A/​C work done, so I brought it in and within a couple hours had an answer as to what needed to be done. The most important thing with me in LIFE is honesty and Bob at NGA is probably the most up front and honest mechanic I have ever dealt with, and I’ve dealt with a lot because… well…that’s just my life. The work is quality, the customer service is beyond amazing and the cost… even more amazing! He charged us almost half of what we got quoted at a local competitor! Yeah… that much less! This place is all about honest work and NOT ripping people off! We will definitely be returning customers here and if you are in need of some auto work, head over and see Bob at Next Gen!
