Creative Expressions

Creative Expressions is a Hidden gem! I only knew about it because a friend of mine has her two children attending school there and suggested I go have a look for my daughter.
When my daughter turned two, it was overnight that she wanted to play with other kids, and have more stimulation outside the mommy and me activities and classes we did regularly. She had always been clingy to me– so I was a bit nervous with her going to preschool at 2 years of age, but she seemed ready for more… So I started looking.
I visited 5 of the top rated preschools in the Encinitas area– ranging from home based schools to large chain based. I visited each school twice– once on my own to give my undivided attention, and once with my daughter to observe her in the environment.
What Ms. Anne’s school offers is absolutely perfect for what I envisioned for my daughter who had been under my protective wing since day 1. There are only 12 students per day, and she has had the same helpers and teachers throughout. There is always a 1:6 ratio, but during the main part of the day another teacher comes and it is 1:4 or less depending on who is napping/​part or full time.
It is the perfect mix of play and learning, and I have been told by several other parents that their kindergarten children who attended Creative Expressions are leaps and bounds ahead academically and socially than their peers.
Miss Anne and their team are absolutely incredible and truly love the children and strive for them to have fun, learn, and gain a sense of social responsibility.
My little one asks if it is a «school day» everyday– something I never expected from my little «cling on». She is confident, independent, and surprises me everyday with something new she learned at Creative Expressions.

Our son attends Creative Expressions and has for 2 years. We plan on our daughter attending as soon as she turns 2. We THANKFULLY found Creative Expressions through referral from a friend whose child had attended since he was 2 and was now graduating to kindergarten. Getting into Creative Expressions is difficult because Miss Anne rarely has space available… because her home-​based school is so WONDERFUL.
It’s upsetting to me that Creative Expressions was judged with ONE star solely based on the road it is located on! Which is funny to me because the road is tucked-​away with a dead end with no traffic… it couldn’t be more safe.
I could go ON and ON about how incredible this school is for my son. I know I can speak for the other parents with children there that we all love and feel lucky to have found such a positive environment for our kids.
At least 3 times a week when I pick my kid up he is wearing a new set of clothes. What this tells me is that he was active, he was cared for and that he got really creative with paints, water, glue, sand, mud, feathers, food… you name it and they have used it to create the most authentic and beautiful artwork.
Our son can can write his name and all of the letters, let alone recite the alphabet, he can count to 20 no problem and higher with help… I have no doubt he will be more than prepared and extremely well adjusted when he moves on to Kindergarten. I’m so thankful that I still have my daughter to put through Creative Expressions so that we wont have to leave anytime soon.

My son is beginning his 2^nd year at Creative Expressions and he has come long way. The staff is friendly and their teaching methods are current. I could not be more happy with the results.
And if somebody trying to find it was on a dirt road, then they need a new GPS systeam. That’s ridiculous. This is an upscale community and a wonderful preschool. Can’t please everybody, I guess.
