DAC: Derm Aesthetic Center

So this updated review is a little late but I felt I should share…
When I went in for my last appointment (JANUARY 2011) the manager personally introduced herself to me, expressing her condolences for my previous bad experience and promised a much more pleasant & professional experience this time around. The appointment did go much better than the last — not getting burn marks is always a better experience! LoL — and as a bonus the manager gave me a sample cup of this special (and apparently very expensive) cream that helps diminish scars, marks, etc.
I dunno, I really liked how the manager personally apologized to me. She seemed very sincere and she seemed to genuinely care about my experience. I really appreciated her kind gesture so I’m adding one more star to my rating.
I don’t think I’d ever come back since I’m still upset about the laser hair removal package I got and how after being promised that 3 sessions would be enough to get rid of my underarm hair I was told by the manager that it was not — that you need at least 6 sessions. Which I now agree with since it’s been 6 months and I still have an adequate amount of hair that still grows back.
Ladies, if I were you I’d just wax. You can go to Target and buy Nad’s natural wax strips for $ 7 and be decently hair free for a couple of weeks. It’s great! Plus, the more you wax the longer it takes for your hair to grow back, so you’re basically getting the same result as this laser hair surgery but with MUCH less pain! My gosh, laser hair removal BURNNSSSSS :(It’s equivalent to putting your hand on a hot stove… Not worth the pain, especially since you apparently need half a dozen sessions to start seeing results and each session costs a few hundred dollars.

I purchased The Daily Save deal for Laser Hair Removal from Derm Aesthetic Clinic after I purchased The Daily Save deal for IPL from Del Mar Aesthetic Clinic. I was sooooo excited to learn that Derm Aesthetic Center became a part of Del Mar Aesthetic Clinic, as the service there is tremendous and it is closer to my home! I have received the most amazing treatments from Laurie, Shannon and Gina, and the staff is always exceptionally professional so I was surprised to read some of the postings since I have had such great results and was treated so well at both places. I just wanted to let my fellow Unilocalers know that you will not go wrong if you choose Del Mar Aesthetic Clinic for any esthetic need, especially if you want any treatment that requires a syringe (ask for Laurie) or a laser as that is her total and complete expertise.

I have really enjoyed my experience at DAC. The nurse who does the laser hair removal knows what she’s doing, and is more interested in getting you results versus seeing how long she can stretch out treament plans to get more money, like many laser hair removal clinics do.
The office is very clean and contemporary, which makes me feel very comfortable there.
After 2 treatments on underarms I was already seeing results, it’s very exciting!

. The first experience was great, and it went down hill from there. They moved locations to East of Bali, they are NEVER on time (myself and 3 of my friends, on separate occasions, waited 45 minutes. The last time I went, Gina, the nurse who is supposed to administer the laser, went home. Instead of letting patients know, I show up, and there is some other lady saying she can do it… and she didn’t know anything about my past procedures. This is after my initial 3^rd appointment, where I waited 45 minutes and then left, because I was on lunch break. They never even called to reschedule. Nice girls, bad service. Will not return.

The ladies seemed nice, but I’m not at all happy with the service here.
1) It’s very hard to reach them. I’ve been trying to call for about 2 weeks now & NO ANSWER. How are you suppose to run a service like this but never answer?
2) I had 1 laser hair removal treatment. They have a $ 10 charge for numbing crème. Why? To top it off, they didn’t even put the numbing crème on for me. I was told to put it on myself, which I might have missed some spots. Felt like I was doing the procedure myself. I was left in the room for a while too.
3) I had an allergic reaction to the laser! It was horrible! I have eczema, which I told them, & it made my eczema flair up! I had laser hair removal done on my legs before at a different place & never had my eczema flair up.
4) The laser hurt! Like I said before, I had laser hair removal done on my legs before & I didn’t feel a thing! My legs were numb & they used a silver roller to make it feel ice cold. Both of which I did not have to pay for. Now maybe it’s because the underarms are a more sensitive area, but besides it hurting, I just don’t like the service! Especially because no one ever answer the phone there!
I wasn’t even going to write a review, but I work in the hospitality industry & this is def NOT a way to run a successful business.

I recently visited the Derm Aesthetic Center for and IPL fotofacial and botox. I have had great results with my facial and botox. Many of my friends have complemented me on how great my skin looks. I highly recommend this medical spa to all. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly.
