History

Established in 1977.

David Bernatz Jewelers is a family-​owned and operated jewelry store located in Encinitas, CA. Our business was founded in 1977 by David Jerome Bernatz in Mission Valley. David Alexander Bernatz, DJB’s son, opened a new store location at West Village Plaza in Encinitas in 1987. David A. Bernatz graduated in 1982 from the Gemological Institute of America and continues to share the same passion for fine jewelry as his father, but focuses on his line of unique and custom pieces.

David Bernatz Jewelers has a long history in San Diego, especially in the town of Encinitas, and we pride ourselves with being «one-​of-​the-​community». David A. Bernatz and his father were both heavily involved in the Del Mar Rotary Club and David Bernatz Jewelers supports and donates to various organizations and schools, like St. John’s Church, La Costa Canyon High School, Dance Unlimited, Vista High School, Cathedral, UCSD, and Stars and Stripes Event, which donates to multiple nonprofit organizations
