Dr Rosa Optometry

I had an eye injury that took a gouge out of my eye when my dog clawed me, and Doctor rosa saw me that same day. Right when I walked in, the office workers helped me get comfortable and the doctor set me up with protective eye lens cover and within a few days my eye was healed. He was very compassionate and offered great service. My eye kept its 20:20 vision and the gouge healed perfectly. Thank you Dr. Rosa! I would recommend him to everyone.

The best experience I have ever had at a optometrist. He was professional, knowledgeable, and honest. The office didn’t try to up-​sell me on anything and I was in and out on my lunch break without any difficulty.
I would highly recommend Dr Rosa to anyone who needs to get a check up.

I made my exam appointment based on the Unilocal reviews I’ve read. I was greeted promptly by the very friendly staff. There is a nice «Island Vibe» goin on here. Met with Dr. Rosa and we chatted a bit before the exam. Nice guy with a good practice here. I highly recommend this place if local or seeking a new spot to get your eyecare needs met.

I found Dr. Rosa through Unilocal when I was looking for a new eye care provider after my last one stopped accepting my insurance. I am glad they did.
Dr. Rosa is great. One of the great things I like is that this is not a «vision group». It is one Doctor and his staff, and I feel because of that he takes great pride in his practice and makes that extra effort that counts when you are a business owner. He is warm, friendly, and knowledgeable, and so is his staff.
I didn’t have my husband with me on the day of my eye exam, so I relied on the gals at the front to help me pick out my eyewear as I am horrible with decisions (I will take one of each, please!). They were knowledgeable to offered their opinions to help me pick just the right pair. They did not push for the higher priced items, just listened to what I was looking for and helped me pick out and narrow down pairs until I made my decision. Also, they are always getting in new stock of eyewear.
My husband is now a patient and he has the same thoughts as I do. I don’t ever see myself moving to another practitioner.
Sure, you can go to Costco and get cheaper glasses, but you are not going to get the attention, patience or quality that comes with Dr. Rosa and his team.

I went to see Dr Rosa because I was interested in getting fitted for Paragon CRTs. He took the time to sit down and discuss my lifestyle and needs to see if these lenses would actually be a good fit for me. He did not rush me through, but acted as a caring Dr. should. After a thorough consultation, it was determined that these lenses would not be a good fit for me after all, and that I should just stick with my daily lenses. It was refreshing to be given an expert’s truthful opinion, as many these days will advise the most lucrative option for themselves, not necessarily what is best for the patient. Furthermore, the first optometrist that I saw in the area (recently moved here) stated within 5 mins of talking with me and reviewing my chart that I would be a great candidate for these lenses and they would only cost me $ 1900!
If you are looking for an honest and knowledgeable optometrist who truly cares about their patients, look no further than Dr. Rosa!

Dr. Rosa is such a good optometrist. He has this way of calming patients and making you feel reassured. I was nervous given that I haven’t had my eyes examined in 10 years but he walked me through everything and was extremely personable. If you need a quality optometrist, Dr. Rosa is your guy!

They really helped me out in a pinch, I got something in my eye and it was killing me — my regular guy was off today and I just couldn’t wait another day. Dr. Rosa didn’t really have room, but they figured a way to get me on the docket!

I went to Dr. Rosa as I had thought ever since the last time I got a prescription and new glasses, both polarized and clear, from a different Dr. that the prescription seemed wrong.
Dr. Rosa explained that the last prescription was too strong for my eyes. So I was thrilled to get a new prescription that allowed me to see better.
I also surf and was prescribed contacts in the past that I only used for surfing (as I have astigmatism and am near sighted – and the contacts aren’t great to wear for all day use). The contacts always irritated my eyes and 50% of the time I seemed to lose one in the waves.
Dr. Rosa, also a surfer, understood the dilemma, and had me try some different contacts. The first time in the water it was like night and day. I never thought about them at all in the water and forgot about them when I got out until I put on my prescription sunglasses (and of course then everything went blurry!).

I have to admit that this is not my usual place I go to for my eyes, I usually go to costco. But I was at a shop next door when I thought I would pop in for a quick question about a PD measurement. I wanted to know if they were able to take a walk-​in for this or if I had to make an appointment and come back later. Instead one of the people working there told me they would do it for me right there for free!
I wanted to right this review just for the customer service and recommend it for those who might be looking for a new place to go. I myself might switch if I ever get around to it! Thank you to those at Dr. Rosa’s!

I searched a long time before choosing Dr. Rosa and I’m glad I did. Vision coverage has changed a lot, no more free contact lens exam or one copay. Now I have one copay for an eye exam and ANOTHER for contacts. This generally seemed to be $ 80 plus when I was checking around. Doctor and staff were friendly and helpful… on top of that my copay was half the price of the optometrists were charging.

So far, so good. My work changed insurance plans from VSP to United Healthcare Vision (aka Spectera), and I had to find a new eye doctor, which was not a fun chore. I tried one other UHC supported eye doctor and was not pleased and most of the other choices were those at Walmart. I decided to give Dr Rosa a try after reading some good reviews on Unilocal.And they did not disappoint. The staff were super friendly and patient and helped me pick out a new pair of frames that I really like. They offer free adjustments as well. I’ll be back.

I have been going to Dr. Rosa for over ten years. I couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of service provided by Dr. Rosa and his staff. I have purchased many pairs of glasses over the years from him. Several times the «transition» coating on the lens that was put on by a lab at my request to get darker when in the sun, has either changed color over time or faded-​this is not uncommon. Without hesitation Dr. Rosa has replaced them for free. I highly recommend this business.

My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Rosa for 11 years (so far). We are both beyond pleased. He is VERY thorough; personable; he listens carefully to what we have to say and has made us very happy year after year after year. His staff is always friendly and helpful; they are great at eyeglass adjustments (I tend to bend the frames but they always tweak them back to normal). Bookkeeping is done properly and we are happy to refer anyone to the office. We learned that some close friends have been patients for years; they feel the same as we do. BTW… Kay (Dr. Rosa’s wife) is back in the office and things are operating smoothly and efficiently. Thank you, Dr. Rosa!

Immediately the intimate yet elegant office provides a warm and friendly ambience. Dr. Rosa was professional and thorough and what really made this office stand out was the fashion assistance provided by his wife and the other office assistants in choosing just the right frames for my face. I have already referred a friend there and plan on recommending this office to everyone else that may need their services.

I LOVE this office! They made me feel like family and were extremely helpful when I was picking out my glasses. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a friendly yet professional eye doctor.

I was referred by a friend who also likes this office and i recommended them for my sister and she really liked him as well as his staff. I did not feel they were trying to sell me or up-​sell me on anything and everyone was friendly and helpful.
