History

Established in 1988.

Our practice was established in 1988 by Dr. Richard Black. Dr. Torin L. Chenard came into the practice in 2013.

Dr. Chenard received his Bachelor’s degree in Physiology and Neuroscience from UC San Diego. He attended dental school at UCLA and received his DDS degree in 2003. After obtaining his California dental license he attended a year long TMJ fellowship at University of Rochester in New York. He completed his specialty training in Orthodontics at the University of Rochester in 2006.

We are a fully digital practice and have our own low-​radiation digital x-​ray equipment, which means all of our records are done in-​house. We use a scanner for Invisalign patients which means patients can begin and complete treatment quicker than by traditional methods.

Dr. Chenard lives in North County and is very happy to be able to provide high quality orthodontic care for his community for many years to come. We treat all our patients like family!

Business Owner

Dr. Torin Chenard is a Southern California native. He attended UCSD where he received his B.S. in Biology and minor in Spanish literature. (Se habla espanol!) He graduated from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 2003. He then attended a one year fellowship in TMJ at Eastman Dental Center, University of Rochester in New York. In 2006 he completed the Orthodontics Residency program at the University of Rochester. He was lucky to have been taught by the late J. Daniel Subtelny, a legend in the field of orthodontics.

He is very passionate about the field of orthodontics. He loves working on his patients and enjoys the diversity that each one brings to the practice. Dr. Chenard loves to travel and has performed dentistry during mission trips to Costa Rica and Nepal.

He keeps up to date on the latest advances in the field of orthodontics and invisalign by attending seminars yearly.

In his free time he enjoys surfing, mountain biking, hiking, snowboarding, and playing tennis.
