Unfortunately I have been to Laptops and Beyond three times, but the good news is that they are now three-​for-​three, all homeruns. Good diagnosis, good communication, good result. They worked with me to lower my cost and when it took longer for data recovery (my bad on size estimate) they honored the lower cost quote anyway. Same as past experiences, where they gave me related spare parts (used external DVD drive, etc.). These guys get the job done right the first time.

I’ve gone to Laptops & Beyond several times since moving to North County and have been very happy with the results. They have helped me with setup and troubleshooting issues on my laptop and desktop computers. I’ve had many bad experiences with IT companies and contractors in the past so it’s nice to have a place to trust and rely on for those computer issues that inevitably come up from time to time. Highly recommended.

I recently brought in my 10 month old laptop which was having connectivity issues. I really wanted to support a local IT place. Unfortunately I feel that the staff did not provide good communication about the problems and did a poor job of managing my expectations around how long it would take to solve the problems. I kept being told it would be ready soon, only to have a different problem crop up while being serviced. I really felt the staff was just guessing at potential solutions. Ultimately I managed to fix all the issues myself with a factory reset.
To be fair I was only charged the initial diagnostic fee because of the extensive problems I had and the staff was quite friendly and professional. It is possible that my situation was just Murphy’s Law in action.

Each staff member is extremely kind, professional (while laid back) and highly capable of resolving the most complex issues with your machine.
All of my experiences and interactions have always been positively remarkable. Always informative through the process and always properly resolved.

fixed my laptop fast and cheap. dropped off desktop and they fixed. desktop wasn’t fixed with regard to problem and they took it back made it right at no additional charge

Bad experience here. Took my hard drive in and 99% sure they wiped it clean. All my photos and everything GONE. they kept working on it a nd kept it for months saying they were still trying to recover the data even after they deleted everything. Would be very careful going here. Didn’t follow up, always had to keep calling to check on the status.

I would highly recommend this place! The gentlemen there are very knowledgable and I always get my computer back in a timely manner! I am sorry I paid for the extended warranty on my computer which I purchased at Best Buy!!! If I take it there for repairs they need to keep it for two weeks minimum!!! As a business owner, I can not be without my computer that long! This one of those «best kept secrets» of our little town of Encinitas! I am pleased to support another small business, and not always have to deal with the «Big Guys» of the world, who are not always the BEST BUY!!!

This is a «perfect service» review. And it is also continuing proof that BestBuy sucks. My daughter’s Mac, recently purchased and «installed» in our home by BestBuy, stopped talking to our wireless printer. The Geek Squad wanted a shake-​down price of $ 300 to come to our home to fix the problem. $ 300! (We are two miles from the store.) I called Laptops & Beyond and they said, «Well, we charge $ 89 for a home visit, BUT have you tried fixing the problem by doing X? As my teen would say, «OMG»! That simple «X» was it. Problem fixed over the phone. It is pretty simple: the team at Laptops & Beyond deserve a call whenever you have a computer «situation» and it looks like it pays to call them first!!!

Just bought a new laptop from Derek & the boys. I knew I was in the right place when I walked in the door. All the employees have the genuine look (and I mean that in a good way). Relaxed atmosphere. Professional & personal service. I showed them my old machine and they reassured me that I could probably get more miles out of it. NO SALES PRESSURE. I bought an ASUS from them. They set it up, loaded my software, road tested it for me & then gave me an orientation too. As a Realtor who is not much of a computer guy but has to use one all day every day, I rely on my laptop & am happy that I’ve found a source & resource for my computing needs.
OH, and I ended up spending $ 100 less than I would have at Best Buy.
I’d say the only downside is that they don’t have a big selection of products, so I’m happy that I had the chance to try out several at the other places first.
I’ll eagerly recommend them to my friends & family.
