Avoid this place. I bought a 3 pack from Groupon for $ 75. There online scheduling system is a major pain in the rear. Their schedule was completely booked so I grabbed whatever dates I could 2 months out. For anyone that has a hectic schedule, THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT PLACE FOR YOU. They charge a rescheduling fee for your second reschedule. Hello people we live in Encinitas, and have serious careers and need to have the ability to make last minute cancellations.
The first scheduled appointment I could not make BUT sent my mother in my place. Because my mom’s name was not under the reservation they would not see her. Are you kidding me? Does it really matter who you massage? IT’S BEEN PAID FOR!!!
Now I’m about to miss my second appointment due to traveling issues, and there is no way I’m going to pay $ 30 to reschedule when my groupon was for only $ 75. I should have read the review first.
Very unhappy.

I purchased from Amazon Local, coupons for two massages for me and a friend. I planned to use them in September to celebrate an anniversary. I could not reach this business by phone (answering machine with no info on the business) and emailed to inquire about an appointment to use the massage coupons. I received an email back stating I had to make the appointment on line, period. It further said they only have one person working, the appointments would have to be one after the other and they must be made on line. I emailed them regarding the schedule and got a response stating, «Read the coupon, please read your printout, all appointments are made on line, pending availability. As you can see, there are no appointments available when you want one. This business has an answering machine and based on the experience of others noted below, I do not recommend doing business with them. I want to give my business to companies that specialize in customer service, not rudeness. Based on my experience, I don’t recommend this business.

This company tried to sue me for my negative review of their business and I’m happy to say THEY LOST! :-)

I too bought a deal through amazon local. I was supposed to have my appointment tomorrow, but my daughter is sick and won’t be going to school tomorrow. I called to reschedule at approximately 12:45 today, but since my appointment was supposed to be for 12pm tomorrow, the very rude lady stated that according to their policy it was too late for me to cancel (by 45 minutes) and I would forfeit my coupon, being unable to use it. She was extremely rude, stating that this was the policy and she didn’t make it, just enforce it. She even at one point stated that they have had people with deaths in the family who had to cancel appts in less than 24 hours and didn’t get a refund. Can you believe that? I’ve never heard of any company being so rigid, uncaring, and rude.
Thankfully, the wonderful lady I spoke to at Amazon was willing to refund my money and wrote up a complaint form for me in regards to this vendor. Hopefully the word gets around more how horrible they are. I just wish I would have read other Unilocal reviews before I even bought this deal!

Anybody else receive an email like this?

After this Amazon deal, I quit signing up for Amazon deals. Got ripped off and certainly do not trust the deals to be with reputable companies.

Seriously, these people should listen to their reviews and clean up their act and they’ll get more customers than chasing after get-​rich-​quick coupon deals.
Why do I say NASTY? The sheets on the massage table were oily and rancid. YUK! They had not been washed, maybe in a long time. I made up some story in my head that maybe someone had just not done their job so I looked around, found some cleaner ones stacked on the floor, and changed them myself.
When I told the masseuse, she denied it. I asked her to touch them to feel the grease and she refused. I should have left then.
Unprofessional — most of the time was on trying to sell me on their chiropractic and acupuncture services. The place is cluttered. When I left, they had someone on a table in plain view from the street in the entrance lobby. Eeeew!
Think twice when you read positive reviews — they offer discounts for positive reviews.

THIS IS A SCAM!
I received a Groupon for Nautilus Health for my birthday from a friend. I show up, the place looked like an old, sterile office and I thought I had the wrong address. I walk in, the place smells like mold, and I go into the massage room and there are pieces of paper towel covering the head rest. Very unprofessional environment.
I am finally laying down about to get my massage and Ayanna accuses me of having a rash on my back! I am very unaware of this «rash» and have her show me where this apparent rash is located. I am a healthy, clean, and fit person who just worked out and took a shower. After both of us looking in the mirror together, there was literally nothing there. I was told I am not allowed back until I have a doctor’s note saying I am cleared to have a massage…
Do yourself a favor and do not book any sort of treatment through Nautilus!

I also purchased an Amazon local deal for a massage. I can agree that times available for massages were limited unless you confirmed your appointment over a month in advance, which I did. A couple days before my massage I received a confirmation email with instructions on what to do before you massage (inspect body for no broken skin, etc, etc) so that both parties had the same expectations. Upon arrival Yann was very professional and gave an INCREDIBLE massage. I’m looking forward to going back for some acupuncture. I would definitely recommend getting a massage here, especially from Yann.
When purchasing a Amazon local deal it often pays to do your research before purchasing. I looked at what appointment times were available on their website before committing to purchasing a certificate. Luckily I didn’t have to cancel or reschedule as it seems that is where most problems stem from.

I would put zero stars if I could. The massage I can give myself is better than their garbage service. I literally have nothing good to say about this place: rude workers, terrible customer service, horrendous massage «specialists». Do not get fooled by their Groupon, discounts, etc.

I am simply writing to try to warn others before booking any appointment here.
After waiting 2 months for my appointment due to a cancellation on their part, I went in to redeem my voucher from one of those daily deals. No big deal that she doesn’t do feet, even though I wish I knew that in advance. Upon starting the massage, I was told she can’t touch my back because I have acne. I was pretty embarrassed because I have never been refused a massage because of this. I got dressed and was told that I cannot get a refund or reschedule because I should have known and cancelled 24 hours in advance and I didn’t. She did offer to do my arms, legs, shoulders, but that’s not really what my areas of concern were. Honestly, I am a clean, healthy, physically fit person. I run, so maybe I have blemishes on my back. However, they are not more than some red bumps… at most! If I had true b-​acne, I would do something about it!
Anyways, the most unreal part was the way she spoke to me. I was obviously upset because I was told «too bad» you forfeited your appointment. She then went on to say that «us people» who come in for promotions don’t read the fine print. It was not good. I told her they should not be in business and karma would come back. She said the same to me and on my way out, she told me to «shower more often». Really? What class. I am not a scumbag off the street!
Perhaps the rest of the practitioners are kinder and more service-​oriented. Not sure, but this establishment should not be doing daily deals, etc.

Just wanted a massage, so I looked online for a place in Encinitas.
I just called them to schedule an appointment. Some a-​hole sounding dude answers: «HELLO!»
Nothing else.
I tell him I might have a wrong number, and is this Nautilus Health?
He says: «Well, who is THIS?»
I just repeat I must have a wrong number and hang up.
Then I check reviews. You’ve got to be kidding.
I’ve owned numerous businesses during my career. Customer service is THE biggest key in a service-​oriented business, no matter what.
When you don’t even ANSWER THE PHONE kindly, respectfully, or professionally, you can’t expect to survive.
This is inexcusable and doesn’t even justify further comments.

I always got my massages at massage envy and found a deal on line so thought I would try Neigborhood Nautilus. By the contrary I had a great experience and the price was great. I’m really into natural remedies and was educated with the other services they offer. The techniques they use are great and ill definitely go again.

I LoVE Ayanna! I traveled up to Encinitas from Poway for the Groupon (I just bought the deal without looking at the location, and was kindof kicking myself about having to drive so far) and was pleasantly surprised! Thank you for the personalized attention and for melting away my knots– if I lived closer, you’d be my ‘go to’ place.

I tried to redeem my group on, but had nothing but lousy customer service. I live down the road and was excited to potentially have a new massage therapist to go to, but I’m out my money, my appointment and still haven’t found a good local place.

Terrible customer service! Don’t return calls or emails. Wish I would have read reviews before I purchased Groupon. Made appointment for massage, Aryanna called to cancel, rescheduled me. I emailed to confirm my appointment and they didn’t have it on the calendar. Emailed back-​not returned. Phoned Aryanna-​no call back. Good luck!

I read the Unilocal reviews before I purchased the living social 30 min cupping deal. I wish I would have listened to the bad reviews. Before I purchased the living social deal I researched their website and checked their online booking schedule and they had an appointment open on the day I wanted to book. I purchased the living social deal (on a Sunday) and immediately booked an appointment on their online booking system. I scheduled a time specifically (for Tuesday) because I don’t live near Encinitas and already had another appointment in Encinitas on Tuesday. I received an email from Ayanna the next day stating, «you purchased a LivingSocial today, however, you’re purchase is still pending. Please allow a couple of days for your transaction to be cleared before you request an appointment.» I received an email the next day (Monday) from living social stating that it was ready to be redeemed. I responded to Ayanna’s email explaining my situation and asked if I could reschedule for Thursday. She did not respond. I rescheduled my other appointment and schedule another appointment with Ayanna online so that I could go to both appointments on the same day. Again my appointment request was denied. I called Ayanna several times over 2 days and left one voicemail. She still hasn’t responded. I requested a refund from living social. I will not do business with a company like this!

Don’t try to redeem any groupon deals here. TERRIBLE customer service… They either don’t pick up the phone or hang up on you.

I love this accupuncture clinic. The prices are extremely affordable and the entire staff has such great energy. In two sessions my tendinitis was cured and the pain gone. Thank you Karla! I go regularly for help with stress and definitely leave the place feeling more balanced and calm. Each practitioner has a speciality and I have seen quite a few and am always impressed. Thank you Nautilus for all you do for the community of Encinitas!

The most affordable acupuncture I have found in southern California, and my practitioner Karla totally catered to my needs.
I’m a former student of acupuncture, so I’ve been both patient and practitioner many times over. This was definitely a good experience. Karla was friendly and genuine, was happy to take me as a walk-​in, and had a confidence and intuition beyond the blind textbook approach that so often turns me off. She also seems to have a knack with musculo-​skeletal issues.
I am so glad I drove by and spotted Nautilus. I will be back!

Community acupuncture that operates on a sliding-​scale fee. Brilliant! Finally a service that gives back to the community. Not everyone in Encinitas has money so I can definitely appreciate their services.
*Call ahead– the hours of Mon-​Sun 8am-​8pm can be deceiving so call to set up your appointment.
After numerous attempts to rid my 24hr headaches (I tried EVERYTHING), acupuncture worked for me. It’s been 2 weeks and I’m proud to say I haven’t had a headache or had to use any of my allergy pills. I met with Susie who was very attentive to my needs. She read my medical history and added two more pins when she found that I was also experiencing inner ear pressure. I recommend this place to anyone who believes that Eastern medicine is legit or is tired of taking pills. Don’t expect a spa with the running water in the background and an offering of herbal tea or some fruit-​infused water. This is a small office that gets the job done. They also offer family (up to four) acupuncture. Initial visits start at $ 25 – 50 and returns for $ 15 – 40 and you can’t beat that with a bat!
