High Country Performance 4x4

Great place to get your 4X4 worked on. They have taken care of my 2006 4Runner and given me quality recommendations and have a great shop to do your upgrades. All the service has been top notch. It’s the one place I trust.

I enjoyed working with Chris and the guys at high Country 4×4. I’m a new jeep owner and was happy to get their help adding a lift, winch and light bar onto my 2014 Rubicon. Their suggestion for an aev lift was perfect, everything came out great. It’s not cheap, but was well worth it. Not only does my 2 door look incredible, the overall ride and handling are way better than the factory set up. I highly recommend this place. THANKS

After years of wanting to modify my jeep, extensive research, dealing with another shop and their total lack of communication, I called high country and pulled the trigger on this little dream of mine.
Chris answered the phone, we ironed out the details and nailed down an appointment date to bring the jeep in, they were a month out at that time which was fine. In that time Chris replied to numerous emails with price quotes and answers to the numerous questions and requests that I had.
It was scheduled to take 2 days but ended up taking three after they found a little damage from an existing wreck that would affect the lift being installed. That was also fine, I didn’t want to spend this money and not have it right, great attention to detail and safety.
This shop is busy so plan ahead, you’ll be thankful you did, my experience was awesome and the ride of my jeep is unbelievable. Great job !!

HCP 4×4 rocks!!! I brought in a 2002 Tacoma. Sales staff was outstanding! The guys on the wrenches as outstanding! Work bays seem to be spit shined. Attention to detail is worth the price tag, because they aren’t cheap. If ya want it done right and have a bit of disposable income I highly recommend these guys.

They went above and beyond. Great staff. Very knowledgeable and professional. I will not spend my money anywhere else.

High Country holds a special place in my heart because I used to come in here to drool over stuff when I was 16 and could barely afford to purchase gas to make the drive down there let alone actually purchase any of the cool stuff they sold. I’m happy to say I’m finally at a place where I can stop drooling and start spending a little here, and they’ve been beyond professional and helpful.
I’ve been working with Chris Skalecke mainly, and he’s as cool as he is knowledgeable and friendly. I’ve been in a couple times in the past few months, and I’ve been 100% satisfied with the customer service, products, installation and price I’ve received. I unfortunately don’t have the time to wrench on my own stuff any more, so it makes me feel good that I can trust these guys to get it right and know it will be as clean as an install as possible.
I don’t give out my recommendations lightly, but I certainly feel it’s warranted here. You may have to wait a while for an appointment for an install, and I feel that’s indicative of the strong demand for their service. Very satisfied customer here — keep up the good work HCP!

I had been going to that other shop off I70 in Denver for a while but their quality and customer service really, for a lack of better words, sucked. I did a web search and found some good reviews for HCP so I came in and had them do a bracket install. I had first emailed them to ask some questions prior and OMG they responded. I was able to schedule the appointment and get a quote. Very cool when you are busy at work and can not step out to make calls. The install was fast and the staff there actually knows what they are talking about. I will be returning to them to have more work done as they have the experience and the knowledge that is lacking in a lot of shops in the Denver metro area.

A few weeks ago I dropped by to see about having the suspension on my 2001 Chevy Silverado reworked. She’s a pretty old ride, over 200k miles, and all the suspension gaps in the front end were way out of tolerance and everything was worn out. I was considering a front-​end overhaul and a modest leveling lift but I wasn’t sure it was smart to put any money into it at all.
I was shopping for a garage to do this work and I felt that HCP4X4 may not be the right place, believing that it probably wouldn’t be worth their time to do the mostly routine work my truck needed. I had the same thought when I first pulled up to the shop and saw all the 6-​figure toys parked out front. Heck, most of those things were sporting more money in tires and rims than I wanted to spend on the whole job. Clearly they get a lot of business from guys who bring them high dollar work. But I was already there so I went in and talked with a guy at the counter named Eric Hahn, expecting to be brushed off. But my experience was completely the opposite.
After a 15-​minute conversation Eric had completely turned me around and convinced me that HCP4X4 valued my business and was willing to perform whatever work I needed. So I turned my old truck over to them and in two days it became a different animal. It went from a nerve-​wracking cracking, clanking shimmy machine to a smooth and capable drive sitting on a few more inches of clearance and which commands my respect for the guys’ work ethic and the value they place on maintenance work done well for a great price. Some of the best money I ever spent.
After reading some of the other posts, I just want to add that I don’t find any work they do as «sneaky.» I’m not a master mechanic but I know my way around equipment enough to understand generally what is needed. Where my knowledge or desire to perform work runs out, I ‘m willing to pay someone competent to fill in the gaps. Regarding the guy that was angry that they tried to charge him $ 25 because he didn’t know to toggle his fuel switch, I’d say $ 25 is a reasonable price to pay someone to enlighten you on the operating principles of your fuel system. After all, we’re paying for the expertise in their labor, which is what they’ve provided to you here. Is there no value in them explaining this to you? How would you value their providing you the benefit of their expertise in telling you something you don’t know? No, I think HCP4X4 provided a valuable service there that the customer very much needed. There was nothing sneaky — education is never free. As far as this person’s decision to broadcast to the world that they don’t know how to toggle a switch, I can’t really explain. Some things can’t be fixed, regardless of the hourly labor rate applied.

Amazing service from Jason, Tim and Chuck. These guys go all out to make your vehicle looking awesome! My Tundra will never be the same thanks to High Country. My lift kit, rims and tires get complimented daily. Thank you guys!

The staff is nice but be aware that web prices are cheaper than in store prices. Half the time we go in they don’t have stuff in stock and «can order it» so we end up driving to the other 4×4 place north of Denver.

I went in for an alignment after getting new Teraflex lower and upper adj control arms installed to make sure Axles where positioned correctly and pinion angle was correct on the rear axle. I was VERY happy with the results! It took them longer than the quoted two hours but only charged me for the two hours. They pointed out other issues they saw while it was in the air like a bad front drive shaft and a coolant leak and loose shock bolts. All of which i fixed.
I am so impressed with High country it now will get all my business.

A solid group of guys who always has steered me right and treated me well. Their prices are competitive. Their service is outstanding! Special order parts come in quickly! My Dynatrac hub conversion for my Dodge arrived in days.

These guys are very competent and they know what they are doing. I have always received good advice and good service. Brady has left but the rest are just as helpful. Eric is my main guy there now. They are expensive but they stand behind their work. I cannot stress how nice it was when Eric helped me out of a jam when another 4×4 «shop» (Bach Crawlers) seriously messed up my new Jeep and the related modifications. The guys at High Country were pretty flabbergasted at the shoddy work and incorrect installs. Long story short– they guys really know what they are doing and do it right the first time. They are all off road enthusiasts and very decent guys. I recommend them highly!

super legit shop. They have mail-​order shop prices with real-​life wheelers behind the counter to help guide you in the right direction. Even if you don’t have a 12′ tall Jeep, they’re willing to give you excellent service and talk you through your purchase to be sure you are getting exactly what you need.

I’ve been really impressed with HCP 4×4.
In particular, Chuck has been very helpful for me as I’ve been upgrading my Xterra. I’m new to this sport and Chuck has been very patient explaining general mechanics as well as the implications of particular upgrades and fixes. The service team does very good work and I’ve been impressed that they don’t recommend the most expensive path to achieve a goal without justification. For example, how using OE ride-​height struts and a spacer could get similar lift and ride results to a extended travel kit but for less money, etc.
The only gripe I have is that some of the work wasn’t fully tested for minor issues before turning back over to me resulting in a return visit (plus size wheel/​tire not checked for rubbing, new spot lights not checked for audio interference with stereo system). Not a major issue and it’s always addressed promptly but it can be a hassle to have to return unnecessarily.

I recently had my truck in to have a new bumper installed. For reasons unknown to me, the installation took twice as long as estimated. However, they only charged the quoted labor price. The installation was very well done; considering the tech worked WAY past closing to get it finished.
I’d return to High Country without hesitation.

It’s a very cool shop but they almost charged me for something really stupid. My early bronco’s gas guage wasn’t reading. I never thought to switch the switch from auxiliary to main. Literally, this is a toggle switch on the dashboard. So they flipped it over with a quick touch of the finger, and were about to charge me $ 25 for that! They removed that fee as a courtesy when it was time to pay (how generous of them) ha!
I found another mechanic and supplier of parts for my Bronco. It’s obvious that they sometimes can’t resist the urge to be sneaky.
Sadly, they are out to get your money.
As a positive note, the showroom is fun and very enticing! And the people are nice and very knowledgable.

This is one of my favorite places to buy stuff that I don’t need for Tiffany’s Jeep. They are super-​cool and they have in-​stock a massive amount of the things you would typically need to order online. I’ve never had them do any mechanical work, I prefer to fumble incompetently through it myself.
The prices are about what you’d expect for a specialty store that has a lot of things in stock, but you’re at least slightly paying for the convenience of walking in and getting things that day. I don’t know what they charge for labor.
