Definitely not the best Italian in the area. I had a terrible chicken Caesar salad and a couple dry slices. No hurry to go back

Food is decent and service is friendly I just don’t get the prices. This is jersey there is a pizza joint in every shopping center. We have ordered from at least five in the area. A chicken entrée runs lets say $ 15.99 and eggplant $ 12.99…this place Is charging at lese 20% more. Not cool.

I had never heard of this restaurant until tonight when I went on Unilocal this afternoon to look for a new place to try in the Freehold area. I searched for BOYB places. Based completely on reviews I read and the photos, another couple and I gave it a try. We arrived around 6:30(no trouble parking) and waited about 45 minutes for a table. I guess that was a good sign.(Make sure you locate the hostess, at the end of the counter, not at the hostess sign, to put your name on the list.) The décor, though not ‘upscale white tableclothes’, was homey and inviting. The staff, both on the phone when I called this afternoon to verify BYOB status, and in person were GREAT. Our waitress was extremely personable, pleasant and timed our meal perfectly. We never felt rushed, even though there was a wait the entire time we were there. The waistresses would joke with us a little bit as they carried entress past us while we waited, letting us know what each delicious looking meal was called(and they ALL really looked delicious, I might add!) A very good salad was served family style, which I really like! The balsamic dressing was really tasty. It was very difficult to decide on an entrée to order. So many different combinations not found at your typical Italian neighborhood restaurant. But, based on the Unilocal review I read, two of us ordered the Chicken Balsmico. It wasn’t what I expected, more saucy, less pasta, but AMAZING! YUM! My other friend ordered a veal and shrimp special that he raved about. Nothing dissapointed. The portions were really nice and leftovers will make for a nice lunch tomorrow. All of us agreed we will definitely be back SOON with other friends! So excited to have found a new ‘favorite Italian restaurant’. Can’t wait to try more dishes here! We were too full for any dessert of coffees, maybe next time!

They best italian spot in the area. You can not beat the home made meals they have been making here for years. Make sure to talk with Caesar & Theresa!

Who knew? My parents have been living in this area for 28 yrs and if it weren’t for her optician yesterday, we would never known about this. I asked him about good Italian places in the nabe and he said this is his favorite. As Nicolina’s closed(for whatever reason) and Romeo’s is too cramped, we were happy to try a new place. And boy are we glad we did! First of all it met our 4 criteria — easy strip mall parking, comfy and roomy seating, bright enough to read the menus and food was piping hot and not overspiced. Our server Ali was friendly and helpful in making suggestions, she is our new BFF and we will ask for her next time we dine here. Bread and salad were both delish, and entrees of seafood pasta, eggplant rollatini and vegetable lasagna were very tasty too. Huge portions and moderate prices. Too bad they don’t deliver but it’s only 15 minutes away — yay!

Ordered trays of eggplant parm. Chicken Marsala. Meatballs and salad to go. Enough excellent food for 7 people for two nights. Definitely a new favorite.

Another hometown favorite, their Chicken Balsamico is unmatched anywhere. Their house made balsamic and caesar dressings never disappoint.

Stumbled into trattoria ravello on our way home from the englishtown flea market and I’m glad we did. The pizza was very good and the antipasto was loaded with artichokes, prosciutto, salami, roasted peppers and more. The lunch salad was huge and a bargain at $ 8. It had cabbage, 2 kinds of olives, tomatoes, chicken and more. Very happy we stopped here. Allie our server was great too.

No stars from me tonight(had to put a star to post the review). Management should go back to business school! We didn’t even get a chance to taste the food. Doesn’t take reservations for large parties and made us wait for one table to open to sit. After an hour waiting for a table we left. Poor move by owner– let a table sit and drink their own wine and missed out on a lot of business. Won’t be back out of principle. Too bad heard the food was good.

i like coming here for a quick bite since it’s close by. I do avoid it during«peak times» as the parking stinks in this area. I went there yesterday for a late lunch — was with another person and shared the chicken parm sub, french fries, and a side caesar salad. Everything was really good and fresh. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating. This place will definitely continue to be my go to place for pizza or italian food :)

Let’s see. On a lot of Fridays, my sister goes to dance at iCon. Their food is delicious. I would suggest their cheese stuffed pasta dishes such as, ravioli, tortalini, and stuffed shells. Their parking is horrendous and it always takes 45 minutes to an hour to get a seat! They don’t have canolis!

Restaurant location on the map is incorrect. It is actually in Englishtown in a strip mall next to Subway and Dunkin donuts. Seems to draw a very big crowd likely because of the atmosphere and location. Typical pizzeria food which is always good quality.

Never disappointed with this place. Chicken Marsala is awesome, salads great, French fries best in town. Not a fan of the pizza. Always busy so off peak time is best. Parking can be dicey with dance studio. Staff is friendly and attentive.

Thought we would try this local strip mall restaurant/pizzeria. Had a short wait for a nice sized booth table. Waiter was friendly and came to take our order shortly after we were seated. Brought out hot breads, one dark, one light. Both tasty. Entrees include a house salad. Greens were a little wilted but the balsamic dressing was very tasty. We did have a long wait for our meal. Not a major problem because we didn’t have other plans. I had the shrimp portobello served over linguini. Nice sized shrimp and mushroom cubes. Nice sized portion. My wife had a chicken dish with peppers, and artichokes. Chicken was mushy. Both dishes looked great. Both dishes lacked taste. This place is very busy with many locals. Nice sized portions and a decent price. BYOB also keeps the tab down.

I have been eating here regularly since the place opened back in 2008 and the food has always been excellent. I can’t say that I ever had a bad meal. The place is always busy around dinner time so there might be a 20 –30 wait but it’s well worth it.

Best local Italian restaurant in the area. Not gourmet, and they don’t pretend to be. Basic southern Italian fare which is consistently good food with decent prices. Friendly staff. Very busy at peak times, and they don’t take reservations. So you may have to wait awhile. Parking could be tough at times.

BYOB and great food!!! First they served fresh out of the oven bread! We each hot a garden salad with our entrees which comes in a bigger bowl and you serve yourself. It was mainly lettuce. Not a great salad but the house dressing was really good! Two of us ordered the CHICKENAMALFI (Tender Chicken and Roma Tomatoes Sauteed in Olive Oil and Garlic with Roasted Peppers, Artichoke Hearts and Kalamata Olives in a White Wine Sauce Tossed With Pecorino Romano Served Over Pasta) Pretty good! We both ate the whole plate but definitely could have taken half home if I wasn’t such a pig lol! Our other friend got CHICKENBALSAMICO (Chicken With Balsamic Light Cream, Spinach, Roasted Peppers Topped with Melted Mozzarella) I tried a piece and it was awesome. If I go here again I think I’d get this instead! Ended up being $ 23 each with tax and tip.

This is my favorite place to take friends who want to eat at a local Italian place. BEST chicken parm I’ve had in the area. Pizza is great, strombolis are yummy, and I am also a big fan of their french fries. When no one is looking, I eat their house dressing with a spoon. I’ve also eaten in their sit down restaurant, wait staff are polite and attentive. My only issue is parking, it’s difficult to find a space during dinner hour, and they do not deliver. My parents used to have take-out from here every Friday/Saturday, but lately they have passed because of this issue.
