Papa John’s Pizza

I’ve been ordering from this place since it opened and can say every time I order I am more disappointed! At first the service was quick and orders always correct, then for some reason, the service and quality went to hell. Many orders were delivered incorrect and VERY late! When I say late I mean like over 2 hours half the time. The last time I ordered, my order was wrong the driver called in and I was basically told mistakes happen and that they were sorry, but they were too busy to deliver the rest of my order or compensate me. After fuming for a few weeks I ordered again tonight to be let down once again. I called about an hour and a half after placing my order and was told my order left the store an hour ago and it should be there any time. I waited another 20 minutes and called back to be told my order left 5 minutes ago… It has already been over 2 hours… I called Blackjack and they delivered in 30 minutes! Too bad because I like their pizza, but the service and management suck!

I’d govern up on papa johns about a year ago but decided to give the another shot.
I updated my information and ordered online. The quoted time on my confirmation email was 30 – 40 minutes. After 90 minutes I called the store. The website didn’t update my info, apparently this is a common problem, so they tried to deliver the pie to the wrong address. The guy on the phone offered to retake my order, but when I have him my address it was outside their delivery area (7 miles from my old address).
The manager Jeremy was nice so they got 1 star, but papa johns isn’t good enough to put up with the headache.
Do yourself a favor, call Blackjack Pizza. It’s cheaper and better, and they’ll deliver.

Hello, I am an employee at this papa johns, (a driver). I’ve been working there for only a few months, and I was hired immediately after a change in management. From what I’ve heard, the service prior to the switch was abysmal, but I assure you that things are running smoothly now, and the pizzas are looking great! I know this review falls under an obvious conflict of interest, but it couldn’t hurt to give them a chance, and see for yourself that this store is doing a good job.

To bad I have to give at least one star because they deserve none.
Delivery and the pizza from this location continues to go down hill. The pizza is always a solid hour later than their estimate. It is always cold, not even warm, but cold. And the last time, the driver was nasty and mean. To bad I had already put the tip on the online form, or he would have gotten nothing.
Corporate management apologized and told us that someone from this location would get back to us. Never heard from them. They just don’t care about their customers or the quality of the pizza.

I go to this Papa John’s since it is the only chain pizza available close by. However, every time I go there, they ask for more money than it shows online. This has happened four different times:
1) I ordered a special from their online offers list and it should have cost around 18 dollars and they asked for 21. When I told them that it showed me 18 online, the manager walked to the register, fiddled around with it and said it was a computer error. However, it kept on happening multiple times.
2) Another time I ordered online and then called, and they asked for more money than what was listed online.
3) We had a party order of 10 pizzas and I tried to order by phone. Online it showed that the total will be close to $ 150. However, on the phone, they asked for $ 208. It is just stupid that they don’t honor the online «quote» on the pizza. I just ordered online and scheduled the pick up.
Overall, the pizzas are good but the multiple billing issues has caused me to question the credibility of this particular Papa John’s. I have decided that I am going to drive a little more and go to the Domino’s on highway 287 and baseline road since I feel it is worth the drive instead of arguing over prices everytime I go to this Papa John’s.
I would recommend always paying online in case you have to order something from this Papa Johns.

We ordered two pizzas and soda tonight from Papa John’s. They got one out of four things right assuming that delivery being one. One of the pizza was the wrong and they did not give use the root beer that we ordered. On top of that, the order was an hour late.
I called the store to report the issues and was put on hold for a very long time. When I talked to the manager, he said that it was computer issues and basically that it was our fault for ordering a pizza on Friday night. He said that he could give me a free pizza in the future but could not take care of the problem tonight.
I understand that companies and people have bad days and screw up. But how they recover and make up for mistakes is what matters. In this case, they have lost my business forever.
Note that two weeks ago they served a pizza that was under cooked. I did not report this, but it seems par for the course.

I went into pickup a pizza and stood there for 10 minutes without anyone acknowledging me. Then my order was wrong. So disappointed in this service. Probably will not come back.

Papa Johns, how I love you whenever I’m craving pizza chain pizza. Why must you let me down every once in a while?
This place messed up my order 3 times, I mean the food was still good but it was very disappointing. No offer to redeliver pizza made but free pizza replacement on next order was given. Having managed a pizza place their customer service could have been a bit better, however it sounded like the place was run by younger kids.
Even the times that the food wasn’t messed up they did skimp on toppings, which is also a pretty big disappointment to me. If I order bacon cheesesticks — I want bacon on every stick. Call me picky, but honestly I figured that’s what I’d be getting.
Anyways, they still get 3 stars because it’s still got the delicious crust, they never undercooked/​overcooked and always delivered promptly.
When you live in Erie you can’t be picky.
