History

Established in 2012.

In Baltimore, come summertime, snowballs are a way of life. In 1976 Joe’s mom opened a stand right on the front porch of their suburban Baltimore home. For 2 years, every summer, the porch and the yard were packed with families, old and new friends gathering together enjoying a snowball and some fellowship. It left an impression. When Joe and Loretta moved to Escondido in 1991, Joe, craving a snowball one hot day (in the middle of the so called Winter here) realized that there were no Snowballs to be found. How could this be? You could serve them year round in this climate! Could we start a stand like the one Mom had back home? Well it took moving back to Baltimore, operating another business, raising a family, 20 years and a move back to Escondido before the impression would become a reality! Our family has taken the idea of Mom’s front porch stand to another level! We hope to bring to you a place where families & friends can gather, enjoy a Snowball and fellowship! Take a Snow Day!

It has been a dream to bring Baltimore style Snowballs to San Diego since Joe and Loretta first moved to Escondido in the early 1990’s. To Joe, having been raised in Baltimore, Snowballs were a part of life. Realizing that Snowballs could be served year round in this awesome climate, the seeds were planted. It has been 20 years and now, in 2012, those seeds have begun to bloom. Our family welcomes you to join us in this new endeavour. Our desire is that Baltimore Snowball will be a place you can bring the family to meet up with old friends & make some new ones. We look forward to serving you and getting to know you.
