There were eggshells in my food and whoever answered the phone refused to believe my husband when he called to complain. He is currently taking it back now but we will not eat here again

Family-owned, with very friendly staff. The prices are reasonable and the food itself is delicious. I had veggie noodles, and left feeling very satisfied.

We tried it for the first time tonight… so glad we did! First course was egg drop soup that was fresh & delicious. Next, our egg rolls ~ hot and crispy. I had Kung Pao Chicken. It was perfect with some heat, lots of chicken & fresh, crisp veggies. My husband had a combo w/sweet & sour chicken and green pepper steak: both so fresh, perfectly seasoned. Fried rice excellent, too. Don’t miss this hidden gem!

Portions are very small, no flavor and extremely disappointed. I’ve been in the area for over 3 years and I normally drive to the other side of Escondido to Yummy Express, but my wife wanted to try this place out. Needless to say just the smell alone on the trip home turned me off. My wife confirmed everything from the first few bites. I don’t know how, but an order of egg rolls is literally 2 miniature size rolls. I paid extra for more beef in my Mongolian beef and there was literally 10– 11 pieces. i have never seen white beef but this place has found away. Over priced, extremely small portions, and very little to no flavor. Never have I ever had to add salt and pepper to my «AUTHENTIC«Chinese food.

Not bad but not great. Just moved across the street so wanted to give it a try. Ordered the Kung pow chicken, broccoli and chicken, shrimp low mein, hot n sour soup, wonton soup and cream cheese wontons. The only stuff worth eating was the kung pow chicken, chicken and broccoli, cream cheese wontons and wonton soup but sill they were subpar. The rest of the food wasn’t good. Everything just seemed to fall flat. Wasn’t very impressed. The staff was very friendly so I do recommend if your feeling like giving something new a try to jus go for it and see for yourself as everyone is different but we most likely won’t order again.

Ate here yesterday with my fiancé for lunch. Now, I probably hadn’t been here in 12 years, but I remember awesome service and food. What we got yesterday left a LOT to be desired. Fiancé asked for Coke, so the waitress brought him a glass with ice and a can of Coke. I asked for iced tea, and WOW was I unimpressed. The tea had fermented! It tasted like it was made a few days before we came in. So what did I do? I drank from the Coke can what my fiancé hadn’t poured. We were under the impression that he could get another one, and that I could let her know that the iced tea was sour and bubbly. Boy were we wrong. She came back, put the food down, then left. She didn’t say a word. There was only one other couple in the restaurant, and she didn’t go check on them, just took the restaurant receipt and went back into the kitchen. The couple left at this point, so we were now the ONLY customers in the restaurant. So, the tea could have been from miscommunication in the kitchen, surely the food would be good, right? The chicken in my cashew chicken was a tad slimy, same with the chicken in fiancé’s mushroom chicken, he also said that the vegetables tasted rotten, so I didn’t even bother trying to eat mine. Rice was the best thing on the plate. Then comes the veggie egg rolls… the veggies were old and sour. We each only had one bite out of our respective rolls. Waitress comes back, puts the check on table, leaves. Doesn’t stay long enough for us to let her know what was going on with our food. I’m pretty miffed that I spent $ 20 on a two person lunch, when we only ate rice, and the egg drop soup appetizer. And now we come to a slight annoyance… I absolutely understand if you can’t find a baby sitter. What I don’t understand is turning the volume of some media set so loud that it overpowers the music playing in your restaurant. There were at least two little kids running around the walkway in front of the kitchen, and right after we got our food, a preschoolers show starts blasting from behind the screen. Again, I get it, but would it not have been a better idea to have the kids in a quiet area to play instead of right next to THEONLYCUSTOMERSINTHERESTAURANT? We would have been happy to let our server know that we’d move to a different table so the kids could at least be entertained without disrupting our lunch. But again, we only saw her when she put something on the table, so we never had a chance to tell her. C’mon, guys, I know you can cook amazing food, and I have seen amazing customer service from you in the past. You have an adorable restaurant, in a great location, with a wonderful atmosphere, but rotten vegetables, fermented tea, and ignoring your customers is not going to bring in new customers, and it certainly won’t bring back some current ones. I hope one day I can return here, but for now, I have to take care of my fiancé who now has food poisoning.

This place is horrible and so over priced for what you get! I ordered chicken curry, fried chicken wings and paper wrap chicken to go. The curry was bland and basic at best and they gave me a super tiny styrofoam cup of rice to go with it, and this was the dinner portion. I’m talking super tiny! And that was the best part of the meal! The paper wrapped chicken was an embarrassment, it was 4 pieces of half bite sized marinated chicken wrapped in tin foil that I could feed to a young child in a high chair without having to cut it up. It was an appetizer but seriously, four bucks for that, it wasn’t even that tasty. And now I come to the worst part of the meal, the fried chicken wings. My god, you have to be serious, these are the worst, don’t ever order them!!! They are fried wings, Chinese style as it says on the menu. So I was curious as to what they would taste like. The batter was so thick, beyond crunchy, like biting into a rock! The meat was so dry! We even tried pulling off the heavily layered batter but you couldn’t eat the chicken without drinking water between every bite! So gross! We threw it away immediately. Do not waste your money! Von’s is right next to it, you’re better off getting a processed package Chinese meal there! Sad but true! Take yourself to Pandanus Garden in San Marcos, so delicious and worth the trip!

Shocked by the favorable reviews. I ordered orange chicken for my kids. It was completely soggy and the breading was gooey and mushy. Completely, literally, inedible. I asked to pay extra for fried rice. Well, I paid extra, and the fried rice was white rice with soy sauce. It was SO disgusting that I thought there must be a mistake. I called and the owner told me he’s been doing his fried rice as a ‘side’ like that for 35 years and I was crazy. I called because I thought I got someone’s leftover food in my bag by mistake. It was definitely one of those moments when the food was so bad that it made me angry. I probably would have just chalked it up to a bad day except for the owner yelling at me when I called to ask, quite sincerely, if my rice was a mistake. Oh, the lady ringing me up wanted me to pay in cash. I swear that she peeked her head over the counter, looked inside my open wallet and said, «you have cash, use that.» It was a moment where I thought, um did that just happen? THEN… I went to Von’s, got cash back, and gave her cash. Sucker!

We do take out here every time we get a hankering for Chinese. The sweet and sour chicken is super good! Also the chow mein is pretty good, too! Huge portions to share! They are quick and fresh. Not sure about dining in, always seems so dead when I go to pick up the food.

The food actually isn’t too bad, though it’s nothing special either. The real reason I’ve stopped going is because the owners are very unfriendly, bordering on rude, and extremely stingy with certain items.

I am giving this place three stars instead of two or even one star, because I am a firm believer in the benefit of the doubt. I got an order to go, it was late, about 35 minutes before they closed. I got the dinner order of orange flavored chicken and cream cheese wontons. 15 dollars, which I thought was kind of high given the portion size, and how many times I had heard about what a good deal they are supposed to be. I work out with a couple of guys that swear by this place, and they are the reason I gave it a try. The orange chicken was straight nasty, soggy, lacking flavor, and had an overtone of nasty deep frier oil. The fried rice was horrible, no flavor, and nothing in it but rice. The wontons were good, not great, and the sweet and sour sauce is the typical Sysco bulk buy. I am using the benefit of the doubt on this one because of two reasons: 1. It was late, I may have gotten the bottom of the barrel. 2. My friends have said good things, and said it was a good value, but they eat there at lunch, I might have just had bad luck.

Best take-out I’ve had in a long time. My friend and I ordered the salt & Pepper chicken(boneless appetizer), shrimp & veggies, walnut shrimp and hot & sour soup. Was surprised at the variety of fresh veggies and happy to find not overcooked. All fresh, not frozen veggies. The soup was delightful and not overly salted(even gave us those crispy noodles for the top). Walnut shrimp and salt & pepper chicken were fantastic. So happy that I have found this place. Fast service, good portions at a reasonable price. No MSG, yay. And someone mentioned the place being empty… that’s because the bulk of their business is take-out. It’s been there for around 20 years or so.

This place has been here for as long as I can remember. Family owned. Same guy I see everytime when I come in. Atmosphere: very pink! Booth tables along the wall. With plenty of chinese décor from the lanterns to their chopsticks. Very old school chinese feel. Food: I usually start out with their wor won ton soup. the broth is simple but with lots of flavor. the won tons are cooked perfectly(highly recommended). chow mein is good a lot better than(panda express). thicker noodles and lots of ingredients. Portions are moderate. enought to share between 2 – 3 people. good lunch specials as well. I did order take-out on wor wonton soup. it was last minute 10 minutes before they closed. they were nice enough to wait till i got there about 7 mins after closing. however, when i got home there was only 4 won-tons and the rest were mixed veggies. it was still good but disappointed with the limited won-tons Service: so-so. no complaints. Overall: Not the best but decent authentic Chinese food. Closest Chinese food around the area if you live close by. Portions of meats can very when ordering take-out. Cheap lunch combo specials.

We ordered the curry chicken opened the box and was surprised when I noticed that 80% of it was vegetables. After further examination It was as if my chicken(still not a 100% if it was chicken) has been sitting in the curry mix for a days. It had the appeal of a wet Dorito…

Extremely satisfied! Food came out fast! Made to order, tasty, affordable. The owners very friendly and attentive, their children in the back playing, a nice setting. Orange chicken was good. Broccoli beef was perfect, broccoli al dente, tasty sauce. Excellent soups. Happy I found my neighborhood Chinese joint. I’ll be back again.

I would not recommend this restaurant to ANYONE! They were extremely rude and not courteous. The dishes were so dirty. We used plastic forks instead of the ones on the table. And we asked for drinks. They brought us dirty cups and we just used the straws to drink out the cans. The food was sub par. Waste of $ 20

They have been here for years, and We eat here more and more often as the years go by. The food has been pretty consistent now, and usually quite yummy. I really like that they will make small adjustments to dishes on request. The food seems mostly cooked up to order, so that makes it easier I would think. They will still do things that are not listed on the menu, don’t be afraid to ask them. We tend to order the same things a lot, but they are tasty and that is why we order them again and again. For example, I like their salt and pepper chicken. It is just the right amount of fried and salty for me. lots of nicely cooked onions mixed in to top it off. The fried rice comes with the usual options, and so far, we tend to get the barbecued pork variety. The crispy beef is another favorite entrée, with a sweet and slightly spicy flavor, very satisfying. Thanks!
