Mr Tint

So we’ve had several cars done by them. As far as their quality of work and getting the job done when it’s promised, they get 5+ stars. I’ve never had a problem with any of the tint having any issues over the years.
The reason for the deduction in stars is their bait-​and-​switch with the Groupon. Before getting the groupon, I asked how much it would be get my car tinted (They knew the year make and model). $ 200 for front doors, rear doors and back window (for the basic). No mention of «extra windows.» So I get the Groupon which is worth $ 200 (the same price quoted me originally). Suddenly I have 4 «extra windows» at an extra price. C’mon guys. That’s pure BS through and through, and you know it. This would have been a well-​earned 5 star review if you would just stick to your original quote.

Called Friday afternoon to see if they could tint my wife’s car some time over the weekend. To my surprise they told me they were booked, but if I could leave the car there for a while they could get the job done. They fit me into there schedule and did a great job for a decent price using quality tint. Will most likely bring my truck there to fix the hack job done by another shop.

Had Llumar tint applied to windows so I won’t get any more skin-​cancer-​causing UV rays on my face while driving. Couldn’t be happier. What’s more, the windows look beautiful! Fair price. Thank you, guys!

I’ve brought many cars here, always with excellent results, great customer service. The materials they use are top notch, I will only use a ceramic film on my cars, and the pinnacle formula one film is right up there with huper optik, at a much better price. The quality work they do here hold up to my high standards, the window edging on my Bmw was perfect (very important on a frameless window).

Service: great customer service over the phone and in the actual store. I walked in on a weekday and two hours later, I had 5 of my windows tinted for $ 200. I got a discount for checking in on Unilocal.I didn’t even need an appointment! There isn’t really anything in the immediate vicinity to here so be ready to walk somewhere to kill time or make sure to have someone pick you up.
Parking: tons of street parking here. There is a small lot in the back too.
Atmosphere: there are some chairs inside to sit and wait for your ride to be done. There are magazines on the table to read.
No TV.
In the end, my windows are tinted and they look great. They have a variety of tints, each w a variety of protection for your car. I went for the least expensive dark tint that they had and it was only $ 200 out the door. They have a lifetime warranty on the tiny too. Make sure not to roll your windows down for at least 3 days after you get tinted.

Worst service ever! Noticed an expired Groupon and called to see if they would honor it. I was told by two different employers «no problem»! Went in on Christmas Eve day as it was a gift for my son. I had the expired Groupon on my phone to show them as they asked and when I got there they told me the only special they had was for $ 149. I looked for the app I had on my phone and between the time I left my house to when I got there, someone deleted it. The manager proceeded to argue with me basically calling me a liar over $ 9.00!!! Are you kidding me?!! Totally embarrassed my son and the guy still kept arguing. He then said okay we will honor it but still argued like I was making it up! Left upset and I was a return customer. I will never ever do business with them again and will make sure I spread the word of my experience over $ 9.00. Basically called a customer a liar and someone deleted the expired groupon ad and then told me I was imagining it!!! Worst customer service ever! Your company sucks!

Did a great job quickly and price was reasonable. Allowed me to haggle a little bit. Installation was very clean with no imperfections i can see!

So far so good walked in today at 1 they said it would be done by 5 cause they where really busy ended up being able to pick up my car at 330. When I saw my car I was amazed a really good job there are a lot of bubbles but was told they would dry hopefully this is true but I love the job and how easy this process was would define you recommend and a great deal and love how they have a life time warranty so happy with the choice I made

These guys were great !!! Professional and curtious and very quick turn-​around. My 2015 Nissan Altima SL turned out amazing. I didn’t want to go Limo tint (5%), but I did want something that looked great, provided privacy, and helped keep the heat out of the car. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars, was the waiting area was unbelievable hot and quite small. I would definitely recommend these guys to family and friends, with the stipulation that u drop off the vehicle and pick it up later.

Superb job by sonny at this venue. I unfortunately came early (2 hrs) but was still dealt with promptly !! And called as soon as ready, very pleased indeed,

Had my girlfriends Audi A3 and now my Lexus RC350 F sport tinted here. Very happy with product quality, workmanship, and customer service.

This place is pretty lame. I went in to get my windows done and they took me in right away, no questions asked. They were super busy that day. Now that I have some scratches and bubbles and need a few windows re-​done, they are suddenly booked and I need to make an appointment for 2 weeks out. They had 1 car they were working on and were kinda standing around. Guess they only want to work if they are making money. They don’t really stand behind their work…
I left and went to do some other things and then called to see if I could come in to get some new tinting done. They were like sure come on down, we can get you right in. I went back there and was like WTF??? The guy was like «Oh, we can do it, but it will be like 2 hours.» I was like ok. So, I’ve been sitting here while they are doing my car and not one single person has come in…

I was a little hesitant going to this place after some of the reviews but it was one of the few places that carried the tint I wanted and there were some people I know that went there and we’re satisified
And now I’m one of those satisfied customers
They did a great job, I didn’t even ask for the discount since I was so pleased
Even the trouble spots, like the front antenna area looked flawless. They warned me it would be noticeable but I can’t tell and believe me I looked!

I have gotten all my cars tinted here, always a great job and very professional. It was $ 200 for my Passat but they have a 10% off coupon on there website. So $ 180 and it looks awesome! Thanks guys

I just bought a new car and the place I’ve been taking my car to for years has gone out of business. For more than a decade I have been going to the same place so I was in a bind trying to find a new place that I could trust. I read review after review and decided on Mr. Tint for the good reviews and reputation. I was not disappointed.
I arrived without any appointment but they took me right away. I decided on the «Pinnacle» tint. They told me it would take just over 2 hours and the car was ready right on time. The tint was perfect and my car looks incredible! I highly recommend them to anyone.
So, some comments for the people who own this business. I came around noon and there was only one person there. When I came in, he came from the back room where he was clearly having lunch and gave me a look that he was somewhat annoyed that I had interrupted his lunch. I’m sorry for coming during lunch, but that was the only time I could come. Maybe they should have more than one person so one can have lunch and not be bothered. Your service is good, but I don’t need to go to a place and have someone make me feel like I’m bothering them.
I was trying to get some advice on which type of tint to pick and the person working with gave me absolutely no help. Again, he seemed annoyed that he had been bothered during his lunch and he just wanted to get me out of there as quickly as possible. Again, I understand wanting to have a lunch break, but it’s not my fault there is only one person there and there is no sign saying they are closed during lunch. Again, drop the attitude or get someone else to cover during lunchtime.
Lastly, there was a coupon for $ 50 off the «Pinnacle». When I chose the Pinnacle, the discount wasn’t offered to me; I had to ask for it. Whenever I’ve been to a store that offers a discount, they automatically tell me without having to ask. If you have a discount, I recommend that you mention it when a customer buys that product. Maybe they don’t even know about it and it would go a long way to build your reputation.
Again, my car looks great, they did a great job, took me in right away and finished in an extremely reasonable amount of time. I would go back because of the great job and reasonable price. The dealership I purchased the car offered to tint at a slightly higher price but then again, they offer a loaner car. But with their very impersonal service I might consider another place the next time I need my car tinted. Overall, good experience and good product and I recommend them to anyone.

My boyfriend referred me to Mr. Tint because he said they do a good job for a good price. I couldn’t agree more! I got a ticket for my tint that I had done at a different place and Mr. Tint removed it for only 20 dollars. I came back to get my tint put back on & they did my front two windows on my 2 door car for $ 60 dollars. It was such a great price compared to what I paid previously. They give you a quote straight up on the phone & stick with it!

I had my new Audi A4 tinted here at the strong recommendation of a good friend. I was very very happy with the service and quality of work/​materials. I went with Pinnacle Ceramic Tint and the quality is fantastic.
Sonny is an expert in the field and is a breeze to work with. They were pretty busy (as expected when Spring months start getting warm — it was 90 degrees the day of install) but they accommodate several cars at once in their tinting bay which is how they work so efficiently.
A+++ quality and service. I’ll be bringing all my future cars here.

Mr. Tint has become a stable for the highest quality window tint in San Diego for awhile now. They are the only certified FormulaOne tint installer in San Diego. FormulaOne is made by Llumar, one of the top tint manufactures in the world (3M and HuperOptics come close but can’t match the performance with 3M being way too marked up for a well known brand and HuperOptics being really thick and originally meant for buildings).
Anyway, enough of the background, I usually visit the Mr. Tint in Vista which was previously run by a great guy named Ray who is now gone unfortunately :(One day, I noticed that my driver’s side window tint had scratches and some minor defects that were starting to show so I decided to call in and see if I can have it redone. I called my usual location in Vista but was told they were all booked for the next day and recommended I try the Escondido location which I was able to schedule an appointment to bring my car in and have them look at the damage.
The next morning, I brought the car in to get the damage checked out and it was decided that it might have just been a defective piece of tint and I was able to have it redone the same day in the afternoon. It’s good that there’s a lifetime warranty on the tint because between my personal cars and friends’ cars that I have recommended go there for tint, it was the first time I’ve seen scratches considering I also ordered the moleskin when I initially had my car tinted to help prevent scratches.
I’m definitely a happy customer for the great job Mr. Tint does on all my vehicles and my friends’ who I always recommend take their cars to Mr. Tint. In addition, I’m very satisfied with Mr. Tint for standing behind their product and fixing my problem even though it was warranty and they would not make as much money as a whole new tint job. There’s also free Wi-​Fi, a comfortable waiting area, and they played the Sunday Football game on TV.

I bought a brand new car and took it into Mr. Tint only 3 weeks after buying my car. My husband chose this place, so I trusted him on his place of choice. I was very unsatisfied with the quality of the work. The next day I noticed the cloth interior under all 4 windows were discolored. It looked like it had dirty water or some sort of liquid that ran down the side of the doors and left it stained. I then noticed one window with a lot of bubbles and another window with lint/​hair stuck in between the glass and tint. Then, as if that wasn’t bad enough, my husband noticed a long deep scratch in the little window in the back. I was furious because we had just bought this car.
We immediately called Jon (I believe that’s his name) and told him all the things we were experiencing. He immediately removed the tint from the two windows and reapplied the tint again. He tried to take the stains out, but was not successful. He sent us to an auto detail place to try and have the stains remove. It was unsuccessful the first time so we had to take it in again. This time it worked. I still see some discoloring, but I know I will never be satisfied. Then Jon called an auto glass place to order a glass to replace the window.
I will say that Jon was professional by fixing all of his mistakes. I was worried that my husband and I would have to put up a fight to get everything fixed. It was an inconvenience to keep going back and forth to the different places.
Jon did say a comment to us that ticked me off. He said «now I regret giving you a deal on top of a deal.» I don’t care how much he chooses to charge a client, the quality of the work should be the same for every client.
I wish my husband listened to me when I told him to read the reviews for here because they are not that good. I regret taking my car here. He really made the new car feeling go away quickly.
I do not, and will not recommend this place to anyone.
I only give this place one star because of the way he handled his mistakes, which shouldn’t have happened in the first place.
