Meet the Business Owner
Amir I.
Business Owner
His parents in Iran were forced to give him up as a teen in order to elude conscription into the military during a bloody war. He made his way to the United States with enough saved-up cash to live a few months, few connections, and little English. «I didn’t want to be anywhere else,» said Iravani of the U.S.
Iravani, owner of NK Towing on Don Lee Place in Escondido, learned his values as a boy growing up in Esfahan, Iran, where he watched his father negotiate with farmers to work family-owned land. Because the farming fiefdom grew too large to manage, Iravani’s father decided to give away slivers of the land to individual farmers who worked the land for the Iravani family.
The Automobile Club of Southern California eventually caught wind of his work, and asked if he’d be interested in a San Marcos service. Six years ago, he formed NK Towing — whose initials are those of his daughters, Nicky and Kathy.
