If I could give negative stars I would. The old man with the thick mustache that works here who may possibly be the owner is VERYRUDE. The food is obviously ethnic and to some like myself some items on the menu look unfamiliar. He became easily agitated that I asked two questions about what was inside the gyros. He just said, «If you don’t like, I eat you can just go.» As he shooed me away with his hand! Lol, who says that to a customer? No wonder NOBODY is ever in line for this place. I WAS going to give them a chance but. I’ll for sure pass and I will tell EVERYONE to pass on this place too. That man’s thick mustache needed a hair net of its own. Also not everything on this menu is organic. The prices listed on the menu are for the non organic versions of each dish so it looks deceiving. My point is, just don’t eat here.

When in the area I always make it a point to stop here. I’m a big fan of chicken kabobs and this places always hits the spot. First the service is fast and friendly. The meat is always juicy and fresh for mall food. I love the green mix stuff with cucumber lol I have no idea what it’s called. The rice pilaf is also pretty good.

We were chilling at North County Mall and decided to see what the food court had to offer. Walking past the restaurant counters, a gentleman offered us a sample of their chicken. I accepted and thanked him and kept walking. We each took and bite of the chicken sample and immediately turned back around to look at the menu to see what exactly we’d had. The chicken was delicious! Smart man, handing out those delightful chicken morsels. We decided we’d be having Mediterranean food for dinner and ordered the #3 plate with both the beef and chicken kabob with a a variety of their basmati rice, and salad. The meats were tenders, juicy and flavorful and I loved the dill basmati rice. The gentleman and lady(whom I assume own the business), that helped us were so friendly and polite. I’d definitely give them my business again.

Had dinner here tonight. Great experience, wonderful people serving customers and the food is really tasty! A bit expensive for a food court but it’s totally worth it. Highly recommend it, please eat here!

Hands down best quality food out of the mall. People just want junk nowadays and man, their chicken was tender and salad fresh and gave me plenty!!! Would go back over and over!

The best food court option at Westfield North County. While«organic protein» is not the default option here, it’s an upsell, Pioneer serves up great tasting affordable fresh food. I think the fact they offer organic and non-organic proteins at different price ranges make solid business sense too. No way an organic only place works here. That concept failed at UTC, and it would have failed here too. I ordered a combo plate which had hearty portions of good gyro and chicken meat. A side salad, basmati rice, and a side of tabouli were also included. Two people could split it for lunch I think. — This place is far superior to Paradiso Mediterranean Cuisine and it’s half the price. — Great service Saturday for lunch. — Ask for samples. — If you’re looking for a small meal, just order the gyro sandwich — Get the Herb Basmati rice. Best rice they offer.

Better than the average mall food joint but not great by any means. The tzatziki was tart and tastes more of old ranch than traditional yogurt sauce. However the prices are not bad and considering mist mall food is fried or covered in cheese, it’s a nice change to have organic meal as a choice. I’d eat there again while at the mall.

Possibly the healthiest option in the food court. Good value as well. For $ 8.99 I got generous serving of two different types of rice, salad and gyro meat. It all tasted very good.

If you are looking for a sit down organic restaurant this is not the place. Pioneer Organic Cuisine serves food in the Food Court inside of a mall. I can’t rate the food because we didn’t even try to eat here. It was lunch time and there were lines at all of the places and no seats available in the noisy Food Court area.

$ 8!!! For a whole plate of food: beef(or chicken) kabob, rice, salad and tabouli… optional roasted tomato that I didn’t ask for. I work in the mall and always get lunch here, the price and quality can’t be beat!!! The staff is always very nice and efficient, even when they are busy, they try their hardest to make sure you get everything you need/want :)) Recommended 100% PLUS, it’s way healthier than any of the other junk in the food court and it’s still super tasty and rich in flavor.

My boyfriend & I ordered a Beef & Lamb Donor. It was good & the perfect size to share for two. The meats were a little bit dry but the sauce they give to you made it better. The lamb was precut & left in a container so that probably contributed to its dryness(lamb is typically set in a rotating device where it is continuously warmed, then it is cut when ordered).

This is a FOODCOURTFASTFOOD they charge the same price 9.71 for a Gyros Plate as a real restaurant only a real restaurant gives you pita bread for that price, the owner said if I wanted Pita he would charge an extra .75. Also, they went up 1.00 it use to be 7.99 — its not worth 9.71 considering its a food court. Also, the Gyros was sliced far too thin — he gives samples of nice thick pieces, then you order it and get paper thin pieces.

I used to love eating at this place yet the staff, specifically the girl who works there makes me not want to return to buy anything. The food quality is below average. I had kebabs and they were way too tasteless. They usually give yogurt sauces on the side of your order, I asked for 3 and the first time when I asked, the girl gives one and looks away as if she is ignoring what I had requested. The second Time I mention to her that I had asked for 3 and she gives me another and now I have 2 rather than 3. I walk away with my meal sit outside, the kebabs tasted like anything but kebabs. I asked for extra tomatoes before ordering my meal and when I pay I see a quarter of a tomato in my dish. When I ask what happened to the tomatoes, the girl responds rudely that I need to pay .50 $ for each half tomato. which they had not mentioned to me when I asked in the beginning. I use the yogurt sauce and what I figured that blew my mind was that they mix their sauce with water so they wouldn’t run out of them too fast. lol Now that I have written this I will also like to write down that once in the past me and my girlfriend get food from this place and she needed a plastic knife so decided to walk back to them and the whole time she was there the owner kept on flirting with her and even asked for her number while knowing that i was walking and holding hands with her.

Whenever I come to this area or the mall-this is overall my #1 choice for a meal. The male owner is always there and is very nice! The chicken and beef kabobs are always tender and flavorful-I have eaten here more than a handful of times and the chicken is definitely always spot on! The salad and taboulie are always fresh! And I love, love, love the roasted Roma tomato-so tasty! The menu is to-the-point and they also have organic choices for a few bucks more, but overall everything is pretty reasonable for a mall spot to eat. What else can I say-if you want a fresher alternative in the mall, go here! My only complaint-I wish there was a location nearer to where I live! ;)

The 4-star reviews on Unilocal convinced me to give this place a try. I’ve had great Greek food before at Pita King, so I’m always open to try out different places. Boy was I wrong. For the price, the portion is fairly small(granted it is mall food) for a gyro plate. But as long as it tastes good I could care less. I first tried the salad, simple and refreshing with the right amount of glaze. The rice looks colorful but tastes plain and cold. I was expecting real rice that puffs, not a stringy consistency. The gyro was more disappointing. I was expecting a decent amount of gyro meat, but what I got was«shavings» of gyro, it’s so thin that it feels like you are eating the skin and not the meat. If the best part about the plate is the salad then there’s definitely something wrong. My advice, pay a little more and go to Pita King to get a great gyro plate with generous serving.

Excellent service, very friendly people working there, plus great food at modest price. The best combo in the north county mall for sure. My falafel with fries was fantastic, tasteful and perfectly cooked, not dry or too moist like in other supposed to be more fancy restaurants. Good choice if you go to this mall and do not have patience to wait in other places, as they are pretty fast and good.

When I hear the name, «Pioneer» I’m thinking FRIEDCHICKEN! But no, not here. Think more like Daphne’s Greek Food + Mediterranean style organic grub that your doctor recommends you eat before your arteries harden… and you die. I recommend the generously portioned meaty combos(freshly sliced gyro meat, grilled marinated chicken, tasty beef kebabs) with the rice combination piled high(pilaf, plain, saffron) and a large side salad. For a couple bucks more, you get a side of hot flat bread(the same one they use for the gyros). Yes, it’s a lot of food and but it’s a lot of food you should eat. A nice change of pace from all the unhealthy options in the food court. For dessert, I’m off to Dairy Queen for my Blizzard!

Not bad for a food court joint. It is healthier and has better options than some of the greasy food in the food court. I wanted the lamb doner but they only served lamb with fries, without the flatbread, so I asked if they can put it in a pita bread for me and they said that they can do that, but it’ll be more of a gyro instead. I decided not to argue and got it the way they suggested. My husband got the same thing and he’s Persian so he was saying it wasn’t bad, but not great either. The lamb was slightly dry, but not bad. A little pricey for small thing of fries, but again, not bad either. I’m just glad that there are mom and pop food options at the food court and not just another chain.

This is pretty good Mediterranean food being served in the North County Fair food court(3rd floor folks). Some of the reviews made me hesitant to give this place a try, but am I glad I did. The quality of food was really good. I ordered the #3 combo which came with rice(I asked for it mixed), chicken, beef, and salad covered with taboulie. This all for $ 10.99. And they stuffed my container. I also got a side of pita bread(.75 each) and tzatziki sauce. They heat the pita bread on their grill, so it’s served warm. You get a choice of either Italian or Ranch dressing for your salad. I did have to ad a tiny bit of salt to the rice, but other than that everything was soooo good. The beef kabob was really flavorful and also chicken was the bomb. Healthy food in the food court after a hard day of shopping = WINNING!!! Check them out. You’ll be glad you did!
