Run Rite Auto Service

Very deceptive work done here. I had my rear rotors replaced and they charged me $ 600 for my 1997 ford Aspire. This was before there were instructional DIY videos on YouTube showing how to do this simple remove and installation. This would of cost me $ 100 only if I done it myself. Factor in the cost of labor and it would of been just $ 300 max. I would never go here again and buyers beware!!! Would give them 0 stars if I could.

Brought my car here, caught Jack lying to me 3 times regarding what he says he did, and what he actually did. In the end this guy overcharged me on labor and parts. Made simple fixes sound very difficult and did shoddy work. The guy will talk and talk and never get to the point, comes at any angle you can fathom and wont back down when he knows he is caught in a lie. Not to be trusted, lets not mention the kids, yes 12 year olds washing cars there, yea they are probably working for dad, but is he paying taxes on them? Not to be trusted, id rather leave my car to a dealership in National City.

I took my Tacoma truck in for a wash. I wanted something a bit above the basic because I wanted the inside cleaned as well. Not a full detail but carpets cleaned etc. I had just returned from a two week camping trip so it was dirty but the truck is kept clean so this isn’t months worth of stuff they had to clean.
1^st — I know every vehicle is different but your employees should know how to drive. The guy gets in my truck and when starting it holds the starter on for about 10 seconds AFTER the truck has started. Then he revs it up like it is a manual transmission and shifts it into drive. It is an AUTOMATIC. So he lunges the truck forward, spinning the tires. I should have taken my truck right then and driving away.
I was up-​sold to the $ 20 wash because «I wouldn’t regret it» to quote the sales person. They advertise hand wash. Well, they use a power sprayer just like if you went to a «do it yourself» place.
The truck was cleaner when they were finished than went it went in. That is the only good thing I can say. The windows were streaked and you can see where they missed the corners and edges. All the edges were still dirty. Areas around the bumper, mirrors and door handles were all dirty. The floor mats had been swept but I bet it was out of the truck because the carpet underneath had not. The cup holders still had dirt at the bottom.
When I tried to address it, the guy who sold me the wash got the mysterious «very urgent» phone call and just kept wagging his index finger at me saying please wait, we will get this figured out. I don’t believe he was talking to anyone. I finally left because I didn’t have time to wait around.
Don’t go here. Do it yourself at a spray off wash place if you have to 1^st. You will be happier.

I will NEVER go back to this place. I brought in a coupon and then was told that there is no way that my vehicle would qualify for the coupon. I accepted a 50% addition to the coupon price for an oil change as I have a luxury vehicle, although I have been to other places that did not charge me extra. The ad also said the oil change would take 20 minutes. After I returned nearly an hour later, it still wasn’t ready and when it was all said and done, I paid three times the coupon price (didn’t buy any of the ridiculous extras they tried to push) despite arguing with the very, very RUDE manager. I will never return here and do not recommend that anyone bring a vehicle here.

I took my car to Run Rite to get a wash, lets just say they do CRAPPY work! They left streaks on my windows, the inside of my car was still dirty and charged me way to much. The staff is rude and way unprofessional.
I would never refer this place to anyone and i would not even think about getting my oil or brakes changed by them!
Do not take your vehicle to them for anything!
(They don’t even deserve a single star)

These guys are SHADY! Not only did I overhear a conversation between a manager and the Cashier about how they can Overcharge one of their big accounts (Midway Jeep) by adding additional fees to the invoices.
They also smashed in the front bumper of my Jeep when I went there to get it washed and deny claim to the damage. Watch out for the guy with the sensitive ponytail (i think he’s a owner). This guy definitely knew that there was a accident, because when I was walking up to the Jeep and noticed the bumper, he a quickly tries to divert my attention to how it needs to be waxed, pointing at the doors. When I show him the front bumper he acts surprised and begins to explain to me how long he has been doing this (20 years) and that the damage was old. I begin taking pictures and get on the phone to my insurance and the dude flips out. He begins calling me a liar and challenges me to a fight… Very Professional!

If you ever see me getting an oil change, don’t judge me. I know I look like a common whore. But guess what, retards, those clear heels and exposed bra straps have gotten me more free tire rotations than you can count.
Unfortunately, my totally classless attempts at getting free shit failed at Run Rite, but I do have to say they took care of me, let me know all the things that are slowly slipping into senility on my car (pretty much goddamn everything), but without forcing me to do anything on the spot.
So Run Rite, although I was unable to seduce you with my pasty bruised legs, thanks for the good service. You made me believe in legit car care again!

I usually bring my car to established chains for oil changes but since I was in Mission Valley and the place didn’t look busy I decided to bring it to Run Rite for the oil change (which they advertised as $ 20).
They took me in, initially said it would cost $ 20 plus tax and would take 30 – 40 minutes. A few minutes later, they came into the waiting area, told me my filter would need to be ordered, which would take an additional 20 minutes, and would bump the charge up the $ 30. I wasn’t thrilled but as $ 30 is what I usually spend on oil changes at Jiffy Lube, etc. I figured it wasn’t a big deal.
An hour and a half goes by with absolutely no contact from the staff. I went to the reception desk and asked whether my car would be ready soon or not and the guy behind the desk (who I think is one of the owners) told me that the place delivering the part was backed up and it would take another 20 minutes at least. I didn’t have time to wait anymore, so I figured I’d cut my losses at just the time wasted and take my car elsewhere, ie; Jiffy Lube, where for $ 30 I could get the same service done in 15 minutes.
After I told them I wanted my car brought down and returned the owner got rude and told me I couldn’t have it back unless I paid $ 5 for labor. Looking to avoid confrontation I agreed. He called out to the mechanic (who had been sitting around the whole time) and told him to take down my car. He then rang me up for $ 20, claiming that they put $ 20 worth of new oil in, and just hadn’t replaced the filter. When I complained, he sarcastically told me that they could put the old oil in if I’d like.
So basically, I paid their advertised price of $ 20 for an oil change and didn’t receive the oil change. I only did this for fear of them sabotaging my vehicle. It’s no suprise this place had no customers. I would be very wary — they seem sketchy, have poor customer service and had no problem taking money from a customer that they didn’t do anything for.

I just moved to San Diego a few months ago and my car was in desperate need of some TLC (not only was it soooo dirty outside, but i needed an oil change as well)! I was driving around and also read the previous review for this place so i decided to give it a try.
it wasnt busy and I was pressed for time so they took me in. I met the owner Mike who was very nice. Just before taking my car in, they noticed some low tires so they said they’d check and fill the tires with air (which I think should be done anyway with any oil change… at least thats what my last guy did).
what I liked was that I got a free car wash with my oil change so I was able to kills 2 birds with one stone. they did a good job, but it was just an exterior wash. I’d be curious to see how well they do with the other car washes on the menu.
the reason i gave it a 4 and not 5 stars was the tire pressure thing (like i said, Ive been to places where thats automatically done), and also the mechanic did not reset my oil life percentage gauge (i had to do it myself). customer service was very good though, and I’d probably be back :).

I just went in today because of the combo service and the proximity to home.
I am proud to say I’m happy with the service I received and I’m quite certain I’ll return.
The service was excellent and efficient, the staff pleasant and polite.

I saw the sign twirling guy near the Best Buy!
Drove down the street past Coffee Bean and saw all the flags. Decided I needed a car wash.
Service was friendly and fast. They HAND washed and dried, tire dressing, vacuumed, cleaned the dash, and cleaned all the windows… in less than 15 min all for $ 15.99. They have a more basic wash for only $ 8.99
I guess it helps I was the only one there. The clerk told me they have only been open less than a week.
So, give em a shot, they do other auto services too, maybe I’ll be back for an oil change? or my squeeky brakes?
